Whew! It's hot! Can't wait to be cruising the ocean blue. I'm at a scrapbook retreat in Temecula right now, just finished my FE responsibilities! Now DH has the only work left to do. This week is going to go extremely slow while at work and extremely quickly while trying to get everything finished. Happy single digits!!

Insulated/Lidded Cups with straw. These were great since the beverage station cups were tiny.

Anyone else with a proven tip/trick

I use to bring my own cup but found I didn't use it that much. For those of you who do bring theirs and would like to clean them throughout the week, this is what I do...I buy new kitchen sponges, cut them into thirds, wet them, pour a small amount of dish soap on them and then let them dry completely. Put them in a zip lock bag to take with you. When you want to clean your cup, just wet one of the sponges and clean it. Then toss the sponge! :thumbsup2

Thanks..... that idea is so great........I am going to pass it onto the girls. :yay:

Now that we started to prepare for packing we were thinking of some tips and tricks that worked for us last time and thought we would share :thumbsup2

The Over-The-Door Shoe holder was extremely helpful (The one with roughly 20 pockets) since the bathroom was so tight - it was a great place to put all our loose stuff (curling iron, brushes, lotion, makeup, etc.).

DH and I have reusable cups (water bottle size) that have handles on the top. They are great to use when you are trying to carry food back to the table on the pool deck, or back to the room. It keeps your hands free.

I cannot believe that this time next week we will be in LA! :cool1:

Over the door shoe organizer....I had it on my list to buy. Any ideas on where to get it cheap? I looked on Target.com and they were $15 - 20 and I'm debating if it is worth paying $15 for or if I can find it cheaper somewhere else. It's not really something that I would use at home (I don't think) and initially I thought maybe they would be less.

I'm really dreading the packing. I seem to have to stay up 1/2 the night the night before and we leave pretty early in the AM for the airport so I really need to get it done sooner than later. :crazy2:

Thanks, mine looks exactly like that but without hooks. I guess I can either leave it at home or figure out how to add hooks.
I used to have it on my door in college, but I think the door already had nails on it.
I need to get my suitcase out. I'm ready mentally, but nothing is packed.
Maybe that will be my project for tomorrow.

I checked the weather so I would know what to pack for Disneyland and the cruise days and holy hannah it is smoking hot there! Of course San Fran isn't and the boat is always cool. I think I've narrowed it down so it should all fit in one bag though!

Is anyone doing the Zoo on their own, or the Midway Museum or Belmont Park in Mission beach?

I have 3 $5 off coupons (good for up to 6 people) for the zoo
1 $4 off coupon for the Midway
2 coupons for some of the attractions at Belmont Park.

PM me if you would like one and if I still have the one you're interested in I'll put it in your FE before we get to San Diego.

If no one has claimed the Midway ticket, I'll take it. We're planning on doing the tour since my dad served on the Midway during WWII. I don't have enough posts yet to PM.

Check your PM's - you should have one for each list. I will bring a few copies with me to the meet in case they are needed. I will also put a board on my cabin door (6511) in case of any changes or you can also call my cabin and I will put it out there.

Have fun!

Hair dryer I always bring my own, for multiple reasons but first because they are lousy dryers and second, I don't like to be tied to drying my hair in the bathroom. But, as with anything else, your mileage may vary.

OK, one week from to'now' as one of my kids used to say - I hope that I am still asleep as it will only be 6:30. I am so excited to meet everyone and visit the ports as they are new to me (not SD but I only went between the airport, Marriott and the convention center).

More clothing is hanging ready for packing, bags are out although I need to determine which of the smaller two is the largest. I am so hoping to do just two bags for check through. We shall see how that goes.

Weather in southern CA now looks to be a cooler day today than yesterday but still sweltering so you all stay cool. Looks much improved by the weeks end.

Take care and have an awesome day.

It's yours. I think you can pm once you have 10 messages. You can pm me your room #, or I will bring it to the meet up :)

Someone has claimed one zoo coupon so I still have 2 left plus Belmont park

Gail , thanks for organizing the two groups! I can't believe it is in less than a week!

The Midway Tour is amazing. I was lucky enough to do it with my father who served on the same class of carrier and my father-in-law who served on the Midway. The were great tour guides. If you have any interest or history with the Navy it is well worth it. :thumbsup2

If there is a current carrier (Like the USS Reagan) in port it is surprising to see the difference in size.
