Sept. 23, 2012 Pacific Coast - Wonder Cruise

I am going to be so worn out by him at cruise time I will just have to find a drink and chaise by the pool and sit for a few days.
Gail I love your scout references - my oldest Aidan starts boys scout in about a week. He has high functioning autism and I am SO excited for him!

I have not started packing at all. I have been trying to all week but it has not happened. Between DH starting his full time nursing job, ptc duties, working full time, coaching soccer, volunteering at school and just being chauffeur to all the boys activities I haven't had time! Let me also throw in that my toddler seems to be making it his mission to make me lose my mind or want to send him cruising without me! I tell my hubby all the time that if he came first he would have been an only child - after two boys you would think the third would be a piece of cake but no this kid is something else :crazy2:

My goal for tomorrow is to finishing buying the couple last minute things I need : Oldest needs a sweatshirt and a vest, I need a new pair of heels and middle needs a couple pirate items!

Just came back from Michaels, they have nice signature mattes for photos. I understand you can bring to guest services to get autographed by characters. This one came with a pen for $7, but there is a 50% off coupon right now. Makes a nice inexpensive souvenir.

AZ Pirates sent me a PM with their room (#7565) - I still need a room # for 5crazyfordisney and then FE List #2 will be totally complete!

Julie

Hi - our rooms are 1034 and 1036. We will have one FE at 1036. However, we are hoping for an upgrade at the port so we may need to update our room numbers at the meet.

Thanks!

DH & I just booked Pixar DC on 23rd. Cruisin' w/o kids (they are so jealous) but they have school (HS & College). Have accessible room 6654 with a veranda big enough for a party! Would love to meet up with other adult Disney fans.

I bought one at Wal-mart and some nice fine Sharpie markers. Maybe I will have to go check out Michaels.......I have that coupon in my car. :cool1: Thanks for the info!

Last call for scavenger hunt!

To all the newbies, I'm running a scavenger hunt onboard. It will be lots of questions that you have to go around the ship to find answers for, plus some puzzles to solve. I'll pass it out at the meet on Sunday, and you'll have until the second sea day to find the answers. I have some little prizes, mostly for the kids, but some for adults as well, for the most correct answers. We can set a meet when we see what the schedules will be like.

PM me if you'd like to participate. I need to print stuff out, so I'll set a deadline of Monday at 11:59 pm to let me know you'd like to participate.

If you can't PM because you don't have enough posts, you can also send me a message on Facebook if you're on the meet group. My real name is in the list of DIS names and real names. Be careful, because there are two or three on that list with the same first name. If you can't do either of those, then go ahead and post on this thread. I do read it. And I'll bring extras to the meet too.

Just talked to Christy said kids would love to join in .......Cassidy also..Thanks

My favorites switch as well. Usually whatever the kiddo is into - then I think, "Ok THAT is the best one. No THAT one. No THAT." Love the writing of Pixar movies (since that's my profession that's what I usually notice most) -- SOLID stories. Tangled, Wall-E, Incredibles, Cars... just GREAT storytelling.
How did you get all those cute icons as your signature? Can't seem to figure it out.

I think I went to the USER CP (control panel) and went to "edit signature" and found them in there... to be honest I can't remember -- I will have to go back and look at what I did!

I am a newbee to all this (trying to figure out how to get fun stuff on my signature, countdowns and such). I understand FE is fish extender. Do adults get in on this? I'm confused (most of the time) :) Room 6654

I took mats once and thought I was being very bright about it but alas - NOT. I will try and explain what didn't work so well for me. Take one of your mats and put it in a frame and note the mat doesn't all show out the front of the frame - you loose maybe a 1/4 or 1/2" border all the way around depending on your frame. You may either want to find tape and mark that space off or the characters will sign all the way to the edge. Of course you all may know that already but just wanted to share as I was really disappointed. Nothing like trying to 'mat a mat'!

Thanks Gail! Not sure I would have thought about that! I know to specify the orientation (portrait or landscape) but not sure I would have thought about the edges! Great tip!

How cool is that???

I know....I think I'm actually going to have to start doing some packing tonight :thumbsup2
We are heading down to the port on Sunday to welcome the Wonder back to LA. I have a feeling that is when it is really going to hit me how close it is :hyper:

It would be awesome to live so close to see her (or any of the DCL ships) in port. The weather looks to be a tad on the warm side for Sunday but not as bad as tomorrow for you. NOT my thing - low 80's is about as far as I think it should ever need to go. Hope you have lots of cooling ocean breezes.

Gah, I'm leaving for CA in three days (we have a few days at DL first) and I haven't even packed yet - gulp! I've left everything until the very last minute!
