Sept 19th,2004 revisited.....

Who all did Palo??? We did it Wed night, had Marcelio as our server, he was great....

I ordered room service Mon, had the triple cheese pizza and the all hands on deck plater... dad ate some of the cheese w/ me... I loved both, they were great...

I had pizza everday from Sat (on the way down) to Thursday (at Nasa) lol....

I loved AP's show... it was great....

Parot Cay and the live band was neat too...

We had TAPT rotation... main seating...

I wish we were still on the ship! Here we are sitting at home with our windows boarded up yet again waiting for the arrival of Hurricane Jeanne. She is expected to start arriving here within the hour. The cruise was great! Dh and I ate at Palo on the first night. It was fantastic!!! We had Katarina as our server and she was incredible. The chocolate souffle was to die for!!! I wish we had been able to meet more DIS'ers. It was great meeting lilpooter, dodle, dzneprincess, and a few others. Room service worked out great for our son. He had a big kick out of answering the door and gettinghis favorite foods. He loved the chocolate chip cookies. He HATED the kids program and only went a couple of times for short periods. He has been on other cruises with us before and loved the kids programs but not this time. DH and I did have time to do the Rasual spa treatment and enjoyed it very much. Castaway Cay was perfect. I can take or leave Nassau. I enjoyed most of our dinners and I liked Triton's the most. We had the PTAP rotation. We had a chance to catch a couple of movies and all of the shows except for the ventriloquist. DH and I are getting ready for our RCCL cruise in December but will definately cruise again on Disney.

We got tagged, then I had to turn around and tag greenacres back because I printed my room list, but lost it somewhere between home and the ship! I walked deck 8, and 6 looking for door signs I recoginized, but didnt find any so I gave it back to greenacres.

We are sitting thorough another hurricaine. I t is suppossed to get a little worse here later today. Spoke with my grandparents who still have power in Orlando. Alot of people left their windows boarded up from the last several storms.

My DS-3 kept asking to go play in the alligator room, which my Mil really didnt like because she wanted to play with him. She took him to the mickey pool everyday and they still got to spend time together. We did Palo on Wednedsay night. It was nice, but I really preferred Main dining. We had Fortune again we loved him from the last cruise and he is still great and Danjiel. They were both superb and made dinner a lot of fun.

We got back home yesterday late evening. We had spent 2 nights at WDW before coming home. Thurs we drove to the resort and just rested. Dom took a 4 hour nap that afternoon.
It was great meeting you Spanky and Krystina's mom. We weren't feeling well around 5 pm so we went to the room right after the ship started sailing, so missed the meet at the googy pool.
Dom had a wonderful time. She liked the club ok.
We did PALO on Monday night. Our server was Salbucci (sp). He was great. We did get paged while there. Dinner was almost over so Misti went down and talked to her and she was ok. Just wanted her blanket.
We are going to get photo's developed this afternoon and hopefully will be able to post some. We have some gorgeous pics of Dominique.
It would have been nice ot meet everyone else, but it is hard co-ordinating everything.
We had main seating. Had a family from NYC at our table. They were nice. Our rotation was APTA. We skipped ParrotCay.
Our servers were so so.
Talk to ya'll soon. Am going to try and do a trip report.

Hey...

wow... Jeanne hit the island... did anyone get their pic taken under the 'Frances was here' sign? We did.... we bought that one too...

We did the banana boat ride Wed the 9:15 one... it was only the three of us...

mom went hysterical half-way through and had to be moved onto the boat w/ the men...

so if anyone saw a hysterical grown woman crying from their balcony... that was my mom...

Umm... I dressed up francy for Palo's Wed night, I had on a blue skirt gown... I got lots of people who we passed saying I was beautiful.. and the photograhiers kept calling me 'princess' it was funny... (and great ;) )

Anyways... We didn't get to see King Arthur... cuz of Hercules.. which was good, but we don't praticularly like that story...

We did watch Stepford wives, Jersey Girl, and Shrek 2 in our room... (Stepford Wives was the only descant one in my opinion)

In the Golden Mickey's I was thrilled to see Mulan and Auora in it... I was told, Auora, wasn't in any of the shows...

BUT in the 'princess gathering' I didn't see Auora or Jasmine.. I wonder why...

Man I'm soooo sad! I have to go back to work tomorrow! YIKES!! IF Jeanne doesn't cut out our power overnight! I'm in the mtns of Western NC and we lost power and had flooding during Ivan (I left home early 9/18 to drive to Florida and our home still had no power from Thursday and didn't get it back until Sunday night according to our neighbor), and experienced flooding from Frances. Now here comes Jeanne! Enough is enough!!

Here's a link to a few of our pics...
http://www.ioa.com/~jjbosworth/our_vacation.htm

I only met Krystina'smommy. We met in the kids club while signing up the kiddos... she recognized me because I was having to constantly say Sean & Alex LOL! Sean didn't stay long in the clubs. He stayed an hr the first time and DH didn't even get out of the room before Sean was ready to leave the second time! Alex stayed in Flounder's 45 min longer than I thought he would LOL, he was there 45 min! ;)

ladypoo, We had the APTA rotation too. The food was great but too many sauces LOL! I think my fave was the Baked Crab Martinique appetizer at Parrot Cay! LOL Sunil & Noel were our servers. I really like Noel, and so did my shy son Alex! He grinned every time he came around and when we saw him elsewhere on the ship and CC!

I'm sorry we didn't make it to the stage at the Sail Away party! Very crowded so we hung out upstairs on deck 10 watching from above!

DH who suggested this and seemed less than excited while I was planning, research, here on DIS boards, is ready to go again! And had we not spent so much $$ on board we would have spent that $$ on the deposit for next year! My BIL & SIL may try to come along next year with their 3 kiddos! Sean would do clubs I think if he knew someone!

Well, I'm off to bed! Gotta get up early for work :(

I didn't make it to the DIS mtg at the Goofy pool- baby needed a nap! Last time our kids LOVED the clubs, this time they hated it and we couldn't get them to go! My son, who has a twin sister, had major issues and kept crying. He has NEVER cried going to church nursery, preschool, etc... especially when his sister is right there. I didn't feel like the counselors did anything to "pull him in" to the group. We couldn't get thru brunch at Palo's the first day since we were paged so many times. We then had to threaten the kids that we couldn't be reached when we went to Atlantis for 2hrs,- told them they were not to ask for us to be called and there was to be NO crying. I couldn't believe we were at that point! Our dd 7 and 9, had ok time. I think they fed of the twins not wanting to go. Also, last time, nursery was great. This time, I was not impressed. The first visit was sheer madness and we picked her up after an hour (didn't matter since we had to leave Palo's anyway.) When we went to ATlantis, there were only a few kids and things were much better for her. Still, we left for 2hrs instead of 4.
I think we got off on the wrong foot. Sunday night, they were fine in the camps. Monday, being a day at sea and rainy in the a.m., I think left things too crazy and full. So, next time, I won't plan on nursery or camp for the day at sea. It was a bit frustrating.
We had the PTAP rotation and were at table 70 with Marlon and Iva as our servers. They were wonderful. I think there were some DISers behind us- a couple with a little boy. I saw a green Mickey head safety pinned to her purse. I had my hands full a the meals and when I turned to say something, they were gone.
I do have to say, if you can ever do the "suite" thing on the ship, it is worth it! The service was incredible and the cabin was amazing. It was like an extra set of hands for my dh and me- made everything easy with the five kids. I especially enjoyed being able to order of the restaurant menu's- we had hot breakfasts in the room every morning at our table. They even had a highchair for the baby. NO buffets- it was great. Buffets are a pain for us! It was a luxury and a treat, and it will be hard to do it any other way again!:hyper:
I've enjoyed these boards and the wealth of information provided!
Hope everyone survived Jeanne- and I wonder about CC....:(

Dh and I really, really, really miss the food. Our last night was at Palos with dzneprincess and her DH and the food was incredible! Although I can STILL feel the ship I am ready to get back on! We must have the best weather karma. It was supposed to rain all day on our outside wedding and it was until 2 hours prior. Same thing with our family reception a couple weeks later. Now to have our honeymoon in the middle of all the storms and had a perfect time is amazing to us.:teeth:

I think I have finally found my land legs again! But, I wish I was back on the ship, too.

I'm glad to see our child was not the only one who didn't like the club! Maybe when she gets older? Actually, I think it will be a long time before DH agrees to go on the "Mickey Boat" again! He is talking about another cruise already, but wants to try a longer (but less expensive) one probably without Krystina.

Mom2sean_n_alex, loved seeing your pictures & hope to see more (from everyone!) soon. I will be working on getting ours online this week and wanted to write a trip report, but that may have to wait.

We did Palo on Tuesday night & so we missed Tritons. We had APTA rotation with late dining at table 76. Our servers were Mark (Phillipines) and Evandro (Argentina, I think). They were really great. At Palo, we had Katarina from Ukraine & she was really amazing! Couldn't go wrong with her! She even brought a few of her friends over to our table to speak to us in our "native" language (Spanish) and enjoyed hearing her speak a few words herself. I am still missing the food! DH was in heaven with all of the seafood. I don't like seafood, so we hardly ever go to seafood restaurants here at home, but I think he made up for it on the ship! OMG, and the Chocolate Souffle! AWESOME! Katarina even sent us back to our room with an extra for my sister who stayed with Krystina that night so we could make it to Palo. All in all, I would say this trip was worth every penny, but wish DD had liked the club better.

Hoping to someday sail on the Magic...............::yes:: :wave2:

Hi! Still no trip report, but I have got my pictures in an online album.

I must warn you, there are over 200 pictures! Actually, I cut it down because I took 371 pictures with the digital camera & another 27 with the waterproof disposable camera @ Castaway Cay. OOPS, just remembered I need to add those to the album also! Hope you enjoy them if you decide to take a peak. Feel free to hit "index" at the top right of the album then click "show all" and you can just skim thru the thumbnails and just view the ones that may interest you. Don't worry, I won't be offended if you don't want to see them all :teeth: !

Here's the link:Our First Disney Cruise

Someone please let me know if the link doesn't work. I'm still new to linking stuff:crazy:! Thanks!

Leonor! Your daughter is adorable!!!!!!!! how neat it is that you name is LEOnore and yor DH in Leo...I am sure you get that all the time. I hate that I didnt get to meet you all.

So, did anyone rebook while on board? I wanted to soooooooooo bad but my DH looked at me like I was nutz since we are going again in November. Somehow, the "but Tony and Barb do it all the time" excuse wasn't cutting it:rolleyes:

I had to pick my bottom teeth up off the floor!!! My DH suggested we book on board, but we spent too much $$ on board the ship to be able to afford the deposit! LOL But he's definitely open to another one!! Woooo HOOOOO!!!!

DH knew we didn't have the money to rebook while on board but he was quick to ask me to go to one of the many sites I look at to see about a 7 day cruise next sept. Hopefully we can do it. He is sure we will and since he brings home all the bacon I will do whatever I can so we can go. I am so excited about it I started a new countdown just in case!

Leonor and Jennifer, great pic's! Thanks for sharing with us. Can't wait for our next Disney cruise! We were unable to book on the ship. We don't have our vacation times chosen for next year yet.

Hello All,

Just squeaked in! Called on Monday (23 Aug) and was able to get a booking. I'm going to be surprising my DW and 3 DD's (6, 4, 10mos) with the cruise. We'll be at the AKL from the 14th until the 19th and instead of taking a left on 95 to head home we'll head to Port Canaveral!

See y'all there!!

jpd3:

Are you out there? Just dying to know if you were able to pull off your surprise and what reactions you got? Hope to hear all the details...............

Well,
Almost made it the whole way. Our plans were changed quite a bit by Ivan. We ended up going to the Animal Kingdom Lodge from the 11th though the 16th. We left on Thursday the 16th and went to Jacksonville for house hunting. We're moving to Jax in Mar. (Much closer to WDW!!) Of course we watched Ivan track right into Pensacola where MIL and FIL live. So I spent the next two days tracking down generators and supplies to take over to Pensacola. We ended up finding two generators in Minneapolis and had them shipped to Tallahassee (DW's cousin's house) to arrive on Thursday 23 Sep. Can you see where I'm going? Anyways, the Saturday before the cruise I started out from Jacksonville at 0630 with a load of supplies heading west on I-10. 8 hours later I made it to MIL/FIL's house. (normally a 5 hour trip) I dropped off the stuff and took about a hundred pix of the 5 trees down on the house and barn and the other 15 trees down. Left from P'cola around 1630 and made it to Jax by 2330. Very long day. As a result I couldn't do it all by myself. I handed over the cruise documenation and the Passporter I had bought Friday night and told the kids where we were going. They of course were thrilled.

Shucks . . . Hit the wrong button.

When I got back to Jax at 2330 I immediately started reloading the car and packing up. We finally went to bed around 0100 and got up at 0530 to load the car and get on the road. We were able to get on the road by 0800 and made it to the terminal by 1045. Everything went pretty well. We were extremely tired but made it through the first day and by the second were good to go. Once we disembarked on Thursday we drove to Tallahassee, picked up the generators and drove on to P'cola. We spent the next four days cleaning up and got back to Memphis Sunday evening. It was a pretty wild trip. Mom and Dad still don't have power but have seen crews from GA, TX, OK, NH, WI on their road so hopefully it won't be too long now. We send our heartfelt thanks and prayers to all those people who are volunteering and helping out in FL. Those guys are the answers to a lot of prayers.

Of course we now feel like we know what we're doing on the ship so we're going to have to do it again. We're shooting for mid 2007. Definitely 7 nights this time. Hope to see you all there.

I MISS CRUISING WITH YOU ALL MORE THAN I DO MY MISSING CAMERA CASE! Does any one know if there's a lost and found for DCL???
