I didn't make it to the DIS mtg at the Goofy pool- baby needed a nap! Last time our kids LOVED the clubs, this time they hated it and we couldn't get them to go! My son, who has a twin sister, had major issues and kept crying. He has NEVER cried going to church nursery, preschool, etc... especially when his sister is right there. I didn't feel like the counselors did anything to "pull him in" to the group. We couldn't get thru brunch at Palo's the first day since we were paged so many times. We then had to threaten the kids that we couldn't be reached when we went to Atlantis for 2hrs,- told them they were not to ask for us to be called and there was to be NO crying. I couldn't believe we were at that point! Our dd 7 and 9, had ok time. I think they fed of the twins not wanting to go. Also, last time, nursery was great. This time, I was not impressed. The first visit was sheer madness and we picked her up after an hour (didn't matter since we had to leave Palo's anyway.) When we went to ATlantis, there were only a few kids and things were much better for her. Still, we left for 2hrs instead of 4.
I think we got off on the wrong foot. Sunday night, they were fine in the camps. Monday, being a day at sea and rainy in the a.m., I think left things too crazy and full. So, next time, I won't plan on nursery or camp for the day at sea. It was a bit frustrating.
We had the PTAP rotation and were at table 70 with Marlon and Iva as our servers. They were wonderful. I think there were some DISers behind us- a couple with a little boy. I saw a green Mickey head safety pinned to her purse. I had my hands full a the meals and when I turned to say something, they were gone.
I do have to say, if you can ever do the "suite" thing on the ship, it is worth it! The service was incredible and the cabin was amazing. It was like an extra set of hands for my dh and me- made everything easy with the five kids. I especially enjoyed being able to order of the restaurant menu's- we had hot breakfasts in the room every morning at our table. They even had a highchair for the baby. NO buffets- it was great. Buffets are a pain for us! It was a luxury and a treat, and it will be hard to do it any other way again!
I've enjoyed these boards and the wealth of information provided!
Hope everyone survived Jeanne- and I wonder about CC....
