I do agree there. We should have all paid in full by now, so barring disasters should know if we are going, so really people should be letting Sue know.

While everyone has paid in full by now, the cancellation penalty does not kick in until next week, so cancellations can still happen. I know because I am still uncertain about whether or not I will make it on the cruise but I have to decide by next weekend.

Two of our granddaughters ran the Race for Life this morning. They ran the 3 miles in 34 minutes and their mum had a hard time keeping up with them.:lmao:

For those who don't know, Race for Life is run each year at various venues up and down the country to raise money for Cancer Research. Run by women, they typically dress in pink, many with photos or tributes to family members or friends who have died of cancer. Many survivors take part too!!! It is a great fun event and you can run, walk or crawl. I'm sure there is something similar in the US.

They are adorable! And good for them! :cheer2:

Sue, did I miss about confirming? I know I did skim read a few days. What do you want to know? We want to make it as easy as possible for you.

Me too. We're still in!!

DH's family are originally from the county of Norfolk where they were either ship builders or farmers. DH's family moved to Southampton when DH was 16 or 17. My family pretty much comes from an area that is in modern day Poland. 3 quarters of my grandparents settled in Frankfurt during or after the Second World War. Only my maternal grandmother was born in Frankfurt, but her family again came from an area that is now Poland.

Corinna

My family were booksellers in London during early 1800's. Some of the family were in the Royal Navy during both 1800's-1900's. Grandfather Chappell retired with his wife's family (Wright) to Southhampton area. My family in Germany have an unusual last name and they are only about 8 of them. Our family was also from an area that is now Poland.

DH's father's family is from Erlangen and Nuremburg. Several family members were professors at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg.

That's true. I had this date down when I wasn't sure whether I would be ok to get insurance. I hope you manage to hang on in with us!!

Good to know. He is in physical therapy now to get full range of motion and strengthen his quads. It is painful, but he has made great improvement. I will tell him about managing his pain. I have him take motrin now, 15 minutes before he goes to therapy. It helps a little with the pain.

Thank you for sharing!

No problem! Like I said, I'm always happy to help out a fellow ACL patient. Please let me know how the surgery goes.

Are they twins? They are so cute!!!!!

Hope your recital goes well and that you don't suffer too much with your knees  . My DD is danced in her dance school show last night and has 2 more shows today. We are going to watch her this evening. It is her last show and it will be quite emotional for her and all of her friends in the senior troop who are leaving this year.

The recital went wonderfully! My sister and I ushered before the show and I ended up seeing somebody from high school. I wasn't friends with her, however her father died in the World Trade Center on 9/11. I always think about her and her family around that time of the year. I told myself that if I ever saw her, I would let her know that - so I had the chance to tell her that last night. She said she appreciated that I thought about her every year and I was very happy to let her know that.

I enjoyed the recital - the little kids were so cute! We didn't dance until the second act so we were really able to enjoy the entire first act. During intermission we changed and went backstage. Mind you, we both have to wear ACL braces on our knees so it took a good ten minutes for us to get our braces in the right place! LOL!

When we walked onto the stage, so many people were cheering - I was so taken back. The dance went wonderfully and I LOVED being on stage! I loved the dance and I didn't even think about my knees at all.

After the recital was over, we had two different complete strangers tell us how well we did. I have to admit, after 27 years of dancing that made me feel really good! :goodvibes

I was SOOOOO tired till everything was said and done but it was a great night! :)

Yes, they are twins. Officially they weren't supposed to be identical, but I can never tell them apart which annoys their mum!!! John has learned, but had a job in that photo. I can learn, but then forget which one is slightly slimmer or has a slimmer face!!!

Glad you enjoyed your recital. Well done. It is always great getting compliments from strangers there isn't it?

I was ranting about my dn and friedns, now it has been cleared up I feel bad for trashing them on here, I am not very wise soemtimes.
You are among friends so it is ok.

It is called Relay for Life here. We typically participate in honor of my Dad. It is a 24 hour team race.

I have quite a bit on my side but not at my as DH's family. 17 generations back to the UK on DH's side (Mayflower descendant) and at least I think 8 generations to Germany on DH's.

OMG, my Dh is a direct descendant of the Mayflower as well. He is related to Stephen Hopkins, who had the only child to be born of the Voyage named Oceana. Small world that our DH's would both have ancestors on the Mayflower.:goodvibes

So glad the recital went good for you. Our GDGD have theirs next Friday and Saturday. It will be a long weekend. This will my DGD (that just turned 4) first recital. She has been practicing every night as if she was on stage. She wants me to give her the hand signals like her teacher does. I have to smile.

Sue, did I miss about confirming? I know I did skim read a few days. What do you want to know? We want to make it as easy as possible for you.

Got you now! THANKS!!

I think you are not being overly anal. I have sent a PM to one person on our FE list and an email over two weeks ago with no response.

At some point, you must remove those persons who don't respond either here, on FB, or by PM. If they don't respond and we don't have a cabin number, how would we deliver our FE gifts?

Might I suggest that we do a cut off by the middle of July say July 18? I would suspect that at 60 days before the cruise people would have cabin numbers and those who might have to cancel would know their new plans.

Just my thoughts....
:surfweb:

I think a cut off is a good idea... I hate to take anyone out of a group, but for those making gifts, it is hard to finish up if you are not really sure of who is in your group - esecially if your gift is personalized.... For me it is about the kids - The cabin gifts are the easy part, but we are doing something special for all the kids in our groups...

I think it was closer to 30 days before that we got our room number for the PC cruise, though as long as you know they are going room numbers can be updated on here.

I am not worried about the cabin numbers - this really is a hey - are you still outt here and are you still sailing with us type of confirmation.

Sure I did confirm, please let me know if not! Thanks for all you're doing  btw we haven't had our cabin assignment yet :rolleyes1

Have you confirmed, let me know when you get a cabin assignment!!

Ladies, exactly! One may not know one's room number, but should know if one is committed to the cruise and FE participation.

YES! Well said!!

Exactly. I don't have our room assignment yet, but we are definitely coming. I have finished my FE gifts and there is nothing stopping me going on this cruise.
Corinna

Corinna, I have you confirmed!!

While everyone has paid in full by now, the cancellation penalty does not kick in until next week, so cancellations can still happen. I know because I am still uncertain about whether or not I will make it on the cruise but I have to decide by next weekend.

Good point... Hope that you are still able to sail with us!!!

Me too. We're still in!!

Have you confirmed!!

Glenn saw this and it got me thinking... But, I fear that the airfare combined with the special cruise fare would put a DCL Hawaii cruise out of reach for us... Shame, as I am positive it would be a Wonderful trip... Although it is 2012... If we didn't take a huge vacation in 2011... We will have to look into it while onboard in September. I hope thathtey are announced by then so we can see the rates... Ofcourse, if not Hawaii maybe the Fantasy... :thumbsup2

I never would have guessed that they weren't identical! They look VERY much alike! :)

We have a friend with identical twins who had looked into these things and she said even though our girls had separate placentas instead of the one that identical twins have, it depends on when the egg actually splits, meaning identical twins might have separate placentas. So in fact they could be officially identical. If you understand all that. Carolyn was always going to have them tested and then decided it didn't really matter. We just think of them as identical for now.:lmao: Makes me feel better for being useless at telling them apart. Occasionally their mum and dad get it wrong, so I don't feel too bad. They have been brought up wearing different clothes unless like this picture it just happens. They have very different ideas and styles. One is more girly than the other and one more tidy, and I have no idea which one;).

My sister and I are identical, but when we were first born, my parent's thought we were fraternal. We had the DNA test done as part of a study when we were at Twin's Days in Twinsburg, OH a few years ago and we are indeed 99.9% identical.

My grandfather never could tell us apart either...my dance teacher who has known us for 27 years can't tell us apart - they just call us Twin! LOL! Even though we fight, she really is my best friend and I can't imagine not having her around.
