Sounds great, My DD's will be 8 & 9, the 8 years old birthday is 3 day before the cruise. They love playing with all age groups. My little one is a real girly girl who adores Minnie Mouse, the older one is into music, star wars and "cool stuff"! Hopefully they'll make friends quickly and we can get some serious adult time in. :laughing:

Becca just turned 6 and is into all things girl AND wahtever her brother is doing... Starwars is also a favorite, she sings all the time...

Things are looking promising for fast friendships as long as they don't mind a little friend...

25 weeks today we will be in Barcelona:woohoo::woohoo:

I have a new calendar on my desk... 171 days to go... My staff wants me to transfer to another team as they are tired of hearing it!!!

Can't wait until we leave!!! 2:30pm on the 15th can't come soon enough!!! (that is when we go to pick the kids up from school...)

Can you see me doing my happy dance now??? :dance3:
 
Well 25 weeks today Ill be stressing in work finishing off everything as we leave on Friday afternoon - think I'm off that Thursday assuming that I don't find work to do!
 
I am sad:sad1: I found out Monday that another of cruisers has cancelled. I am feeling a bit anxious becaue I am quite shy and like to be in my comfort zone. I was looking forward to this cruise becasue a few of the cruisers I had cruised with before. So pease do not mistake my quiteness for being a rude person. I guess it is time for me to become more active here and try to get to know you folks (before I have a panic attack). So where do I begin as I do not want to be intrusive?:eek:
 

This is what we have then. As and when we decide on dates for things I will add them into the Navigator.

Wow, how long is the cruise again, I think we'll need longer than 2 weeks to fit all that in! Please don't think we are big snobs for not putting our names down for any of meets, I am travelling with my 2 DD's who are 8 & 9, and this is our first cruise, so I'm not sure what to expect. I wouldn't want to drag 2 tired kids along and have them play up! :goodvibes
I wouldn't worry too much about the kids, they will probably dump you and hang in the kids club a lot.

If not then I would say definately put it in a ziplock bag/like a sandwich box. The put it in a plastic bag. Then wrap in clothes and place in centre of case. This should protect it enough. We've carried bottles of beer before and had no problem with it this way.

We look forward to meeting you and please let us know what WE can do to make you comfortable. Have you sent a photo for the website? It will help us more outgoing folks to recognize your face and know that we need to step up and help you feel comfortable ---that's my job, you know! Come to the first meet on the first day and just say hello to someone. We are all there because we are interested in meeting YOU and the other Disney loving folks.:flower3:

I couldn't agree more. Just tell us about yourself and post whatever you are thinking about or wondering about the cruise or the cruisers.

I have just been nosing over on the EBTA meet thread and found an idea which may be worth borrowing. They are having a DIS group lunch at one of the restaurants on the last sea day ..... when they are doing all the awards and a secret mickey reveal. This would mean we could give out all our awards .... best FE, decorated door, scavenger hunt prizes, anything else we decide upon at one time in one place. It is also likely to be easier to organise than doing it in the evening when we all ahve differen seatings and there are shows etc. What do you think.

The other thing I saw which seemed good was they are judging their decorated door etc using a ballot form which each participating cabin fills in and then returns to the competition organisers cabin. Might be easier than having individuals judging the doors, as we will all have to pass by the doors and FEs when dropping off our exchange gifts.

What do you think ?????????

As one of the FE competition judges, this sounds like a great idea to me!

Shall I go ahead and organise the Farewell Prizegiving Lunch then .... Parrot Cay on the last Sea Day at 1pm ..... I will take names of those who are interested in attending ( PM please ) but it will be open to all .... last minute or whatever, as we can all just sit down in the same area. We can give out the answers and the prizes to the scavenger hunt, have the Secret Mickey reveal and give out any other prizes such as the FE , decorated door etc. Does this make sense to everyone :goodvibes

Sorry to hear someone you know has cancelled. Please don't feel intimidated, and you are certainly not intrusive or rude by being quiet. Everyone's comfort zones are different when it comes to meeting new people, either via the DIS or in real life on the ship. I am really chatty on here, but will still be nervous when I meet everyone in the real world for the first time. Having done lots of Disney meets before though, I have always found that everyone is so friendly and you will feel relaxed in no time. Just go at your own pace within your own comfort zone and you will be fine. :hug::hug:

You don't need to worry....just jump right in and join in the chatter. That's the great thin about the DIS everyone is so friendly and we all have things in common....Disney, cruising, having fun, travelling, seeing new places.

I just emailed DCL to find out more information about having an Ice cream eating contest, so as soon as I get more information, I'll take that one. It sounds just crazy enough!:rotfl2:

I just noticed that the Next Dry Dock for the Magic is October 3 - 15, 2010. So no hurry getting out of our cabins when we get in. Wow, 2 cruises on the Magic and both times I go on the last cruise before it goes in to Dry Dock.

On the last TA we had about 20 rooms so there must have been duplicate cats. Everyone enjoyed seeing what people had done with their rooms and having a chat on the way round (well I did)! So I would say as many as want to join in... but that is just my two pennys worth! LOL
 
Hey there.

With DH's continued unemployment (coupled with his insistance on private vs public school for our DS) we're looking on areas where we can cut down expenses, and this cruise is currently on the top of the list to cut. We haven't actually canceled it yet, but it isn't looking good at the moment. It will be a major bummer if we aren't able to go, since we've already bought the transatlantic airfare ($1600 total) and would be giving up the extra $100/pp ($400 total) OBC. Plus, I've always, always wanted to do a transatlantic cruise, and we thought it would be much easier to go now, than when the kids are older and missing more important school periods. But I guess there may be a transatlantic cruise in 2012 that we could consider!

If we do end up canceling, I may keep an eye out for any discounts for booking after the PIF date in case it greatly lowers our cost (since we already have the air which is usually the big deterrent to the last minute bookings.)

Anyway, I'll keep you posted as we look at our options.

I hope that you will still be able to join us.

I am now an owner at AKV!!! Woo-hoo!!! I have been jumping for joy all day!!!! I've been looking into DVC for years now but never purchased. Today was the day though!!! I'm sooo happy!!! :banana::banana::banana:

I emailed them the other day about the dining schedule. They said it was unconfirmed at this time, but could confirm that there would be a 2 formal and 1 semi formal evening.
