It was very sad when they started to remove table clothes and stacking tables and chairs while we were still having breakfast. We then had quite a wait for the shuttle bus to the hotel and within less than an hour, deck 9 was full of containers.

Oh, that would have me in tears. It was hard enough on disembarkation day after the 15 night PC cruise without the ship being taken apart around us!!!:sad2:

I heard a few times that people don't really dress up for the formal nights on DCL. That's fine, it's your vacation so you should wear what you feel comfortable in.

But i really wanna get dressed up. Am i gonna be in the minority. Are folks gonna point and laugh at me:rotfl:

SW

Our 15 night cruise saw the most folk dressing up we have seen on cruises. I don't know if it was the long cruise or the 'type' of cruiser, as there were more older people and far less children. It was great to see. Go for it and don't worry, there will be loads dressing up. John did have a tux on that cruise, but I think this time he might just have his suit on. He looks soooooo good though!!!!

I have just been nosing over on the EBTA meet thread and found an idea which may be worth borrowing. They are having a DIS group lunch at one of the restaurants on the last sea day .....

I think this is a brilliant idea!

I am sad:sad1: I found out Monday that another of cruisers has cancelled. I am feeling a bit anxious becaue I am quite shy and like to be in my comfort zone. I was looking forward to this cruise becasue a few of the cruisers I had cruised with before. So pease do not mistake my quiteness for being a rude person. I guess it is time for me to become more active here and try to get to know you folks (before I have a panic attack). So where do I begin as I do not want to be intrusive?

I'm sorry to hear that but please do jump in where you feel comfortable - we don't all really know each other already, its a work in progress and everyone is welcome! You will find Dis'ers of all flavours here so you are bound to meet someone you "click" with :) To start with, we all have something in common so kicking off a conversation is easy! :rotfl:

Lots of people do the full works and lots of people don't. Just do what you feel is appropriate.

My family group doesn't do formal. We typically just wear nice pants and tops/shirts for all meals. We have one suitcase with a 23kg/50 pound luggage limit and are away from home for 4 weeks, I'm afraid the nice pants and tops will have to do. Its the fancy clothing or the candy swap for me, I'm afraid the candy swap and FE gifts get priority :rotfl:

There are four of us, Me (michelle, DH Chris, DS7 Nick and DD5 Lillian. We were on the original EB in 2007 and this is our fourth Disney Cruise.
We are DVC members.
We are Austrailan, but live in Dubai.
And i think my husband may work for the same company as Corinna.

Oh no, not more Australians! Just kidding, welcome aboard! Jump in and get to know this great bunch of people.

Well its Easter weekend here now, 4 days off work - yay! And we are having a late spell of warm weather but its really autumny with the leaves falling and the evenings are getting dark much earlier. Its daylight savings into winter time on Sunday morning too - at least it means it'll be brighter biking to work for the next few months until nearer mid winter.

Dont feel scared! Were all really nice and friendly I promise, and you will never be thought of as intrusive!

I'm not sure either ..... maybe Sarah G or someone who has done a room tour before can supply the answer.

:woohoo::woohoo: 24 weeks tomorrow for us ..... 24 weeks today I will be beyond excitement :woohoo:

Shall I go ahead and organise the Farewell Prizegiving Lunch then .... Parrot Cay on the last Sea Day at 1pm ..... I will take names of those who are interested in attending ( PM please ) but it will be open to all .... last minute or whatever, as we can all just sit down in the same area. We can give out the answers and the prizes to the scavenger hunt, have the Secret Mickey reveal and give out any other prizes such as the FE , decorated door etc. Does this make sense to everyone :goodvibes

Sorry to hear someone you know has cancelled. Please don't feel intimidated, and you are certainly not intrusive or rude by being quiet. Everyone's comfort zones are different when it comes to meeting new people, either via the DIS or in real life on the ship. I am really chatty on here, but will still be nervous when I meet everyone in the real world for the first time. Having done lots of Disney meets before though, I have always found that everyone is so friendly and you will feel relaxed in no time. Just go at your own pace within your own comfort zone and you will be fine.:hug:

We did 1 room of each category or type - i.e. sidewards Cat 11 was treated as seperate to a normal Cat 11. I however do not think it matters in the slightest!

I think the meal is a great idea and have added it to post 7

I just noticed that the Next Dry Dock for the Magic is October 3 - 15, 2010. So no hurry getting out of our cabins when we get in. Wow, 2 cruises on the Magic and both times I go on the last cruise before it goes in to Dry Dock.

WOHOW! They did this on the last TA too! Great!

On the last TA we had about 20 rooms so there must have been duplicate cats. Everyone enjoyed seeing what people had done with their rooms and having a chat on the way round (well I did)! So I would say as many as want to join in... but that is just my two pennys worth! LOL

Lorraine it just felt like 20 rooms I assure you! We had:

2600 - Cat 9
2560 - Cat 9
6016 & 6018 - Cat 8 connecting
6140 & 6142 - Cat 7
6654 - Cat 6 disabled
8572 - Cat 4
8548 - Cat 3
8100 - Cat 3 disabled
8030 - Cat 1 (Roy Suite)

I thought one of the Cat 9's had a different configuration to the other but I can't be sure of that as didn't write that down.

So only 11 rooms I'm afraid

On the last TA's there were less than normal because of a)packing and b)weather issues lol! on the EBTA one of the formal nights we had to walk without shoes as the boat was rocking so much we kept falling over. Even without shoes we were banging from wall to wall.

Congrats!! We own there and at Saratoga!! Love DVC!!!

Hey, I've always wanted a sister!! lol Maybe we should sit at the same table since you'll be used to someone custom ordering. Plus, you won't be offended when Gus never addresses you by name. :rotfl:

:rotfl2:

OK so I'm panicking now! Just filled in our ESTA on laptop and didn't have a printer so thought - well Im sure youll be able to go back in and look. Turns out you can't you can only get the application number and expiry date printed. Do I need the whole application? On the ESTA site its very annoying as it just says "if you didnt print then you need to reapply" but doesn't say if you need the full thing or just the reference number. Surely the people in Immigration can just look up the ESTA number?

Oh and Disney Cruise Line is on the ESTA form for those not sure what to put. There is also a Disney option but went for the cruise line one!

Hello everyone.
Sorry its been such a long time since I posted.
You guys go through the pages at such a fast pace I wouldnt have been
able to keep up. I have looked in from time to time though.

Carl and I have booked one of the Med cruises in May with the money I have saved with quitting smoking (9 months). Anyway we have had to concentrate on that because there are lot of ports and we are trying to decide what to do on a budget !!.

Anyway excuses over, I would love to start to join in with you all on a regular basis from now on.

I/we are on the role call, but our details again ....
Me Jan
Hubbie Carl
Late dining
Cabin 6078
Cruised once before on the Magic.

For the question about Formal night :- I love dressing up, I have already bought two new dresses and Carl has bought a Tux. So yes we will be.

Anyway enough said dont want to bore you. :)

No need to print it out. I only have the numbers and have been three times since I did it. I go in to my application using the number to update 1st night address and the flight we will be on before a new vacation. Thanks for the info re DCL being on there for next time I change the info!!!!
