I seem to remember that a few years ago Heathrow was experiencing some problems with luggage.

Are they still having problems?

Any major European airports to avoid: Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt?

Thanks for the info!
No more probs than you would expect
Just popping in to say hi! The wedding is just two days away and we are crazy busy! Then in three days we are off to WDW for almost two weeks! :)

Hope all is well with everyone! :)
Have a brilliant time and try to take it in if poss, even the next day I couldnt mind anything about my wedding, EXCEPT the honey, yip, we went to Fl

Good luck, I will or rather we will all be thinking about yet.
I think since we have switched we might not be able to rebook. :headache:But give it a try anyway! That is why I left some balance rather than paying off the whole thing. :thumbsup2

Good Luck.

We are going to have a final look over apartments tom and gonna get something booke,d Dad loves boats so probably something near the marina.

Don't panic Kathy! There's no problems now. There were issues because Terminal 5 had just reopened. As it is you probably wont be coming in to Terminal 5 (BA terminal - although BA to Barcelona only leaves Terminal 3) so no need to worry. There aren't any issues at the moment and haven't been for a long time!

The problems were due to luggage handler strikes as well as problems with the new Terminal.

Thanks for the information! We are flying into Terminal 5 for our trip to London in November on Continental.

One of the options I was considering was BA for the TA. Good to know that there would be a terminal change. Some of the flights BA lists only have a short layover at Heathrow. It looks like it might take a while to get from 5 to 3?

We currently have air thru DCL, but things like the short layovers and 2 and more stops listed on a lot of flight options freak me out a bit. DH likes to leave at least 2 hours between flights because it has saved his behind more than once to have that cushion!

I really need to stop thinking about the airfare for the TA and think about our trip in November, but the TA airfare is kinda like a jigsaw puzzle I keep passing and I keep trying different pieces to make them fit!

Have a good day all!

Weve done heathrow a few times channging and had no probs, well laid out, others will add their experiances hopefully, but this was ours:thumbsup2

We are either staying at Tryp at the airport or the Renaissance on Friday night! We booked both but the Renaissance came up for 125 euros yesterday (has been showing at 150 all week). You might want to look to see if you can get it a bit cheaper as there is a pre-booking discount I think on at the moment. We have both hotels booked and will cancel one after the weekend when we make a firm decision but I'm heading towards the Renaissance as me and my sister stayed there last time before the TA and it was fantastic.

Thanks for the tip. I will watch it for John when he goes to Barcleona in February.

We are using Marriott points so don't need to worry about the cost for the rooms this time.

If you thinking Le Meridien....go to their website directly (not through expedia, travelocity, etc)....I found a GREAT deal! 179 Euros a night.

What about this for a view, think we should see the Magic from here!!:cool1:
When does she get in??

I was on the Starwood site the other day and it said the Le Meridien wasn't available for 2 nights before our cruise. I just checked again, and get the same message. It's not available for the night before the cruise either, so we must have sold them out (or Disney has blocked out the rest of the rooms!)

Of the Disney Hotels booked independently:

AC Diplomatic shows no availability on their website currently.

AC Barcelona http://en.ac-hotels.com/home.cfm Thursday 100 euro, Friday night 120 euro per night and add 7% VAT.

Hilton Diagnonal Mar (near AC Barcelona) was about $325 last time I checked.

Not sure what other hotels Disney has. I think it is AB Skipper.

I had forgotten about the airport Marriott. Depending on how late we get in, that may be a good option-- and it is only 20,000 points.:goodvibes

Funnily enough, they just banned them in scotland too!
You've probably said before, but where did you end up booking an apartment?

pillowapartments.com we eventuallybooked through.

I likes the look of this apartment, it was offered by many websites, just picked one at random, lots and lots of websites, think i only sent you a few.
This has 2 dbl bedroom, washing machine, tv,dvd, full kitchen.
works out 180 euros a night for the 4 of us. most are min 3 nights.

this was another web site that had it, had lots of nice others.

Have a beautiful day and have a wonderful start to the rest of your life with the love of your life.

Make sure you wear your just married pins at WDW. My son and daughter in law got several surprises of free things on their honeymoon in August such as free champagne with a couple of meals, fast passes, and a free boat rental at the Grand Floridian. My son said he wanted to wear the pin on his forehead to make sure CM's saw it.

I think you need to allow a bit of time (at least 30 mins) between Terminal 5 and Terminal 3 as I think they only do a bus service between the two! Not done it myself though!

To have enough points to use would be nice! I still seem like a million points away! Oh well!

that was corresct in aug, we done it in 30 mins but would have been stressed if HAD to do it in 30 mins.

What you guys up to this weekend?

We are going to the Aviemore in the highlands to run a half marathon this weekend, staying at a very posh hotel as marathon runners get it cheap cause we fund raised for a hospice near by, gonna be great, how easy is a half after torturing myself with a full?
Going on mega bus, 1 pound each way, cant be bad!
Have fun everybody, whatever you get up to.

Lynne seriously now I feel so so lazy lol. I'm sure you are going to do great this weekend! I love the mega bus!

As for me, Dan's been on a course in Worcester all week (well since Tuesday) so hes finally home tonight. If its a nice day tomorrow we are may go and sort out a bit of my Great Uncles garden as we need to look into putting it on the market for him.

Sunday weve got tickets to see a preview of The Fantastic Mr Fox which I think we're doing as a girlie trip so should be nice.

Then next Tuesday I'm off to London with work again, this time on my own so thatll be a test as to whether or not I can work out where I'm going lol

Oh and next weekend we're off to Alton Towers too so busy week ahead
