Hi Gigi,
Your family will have a wonderful time on the cruise!! This will be cruise #6 for us and we learn new tips and pointers every time we travel.
For the most part you will be fine with casual clothes - bathing suit, shorts, jeans...any Disney attire is perfect

The princess and pirate outfits will be great. Something a little nicer for dinners in the dining rooms (no jeans or shorts). We tend to always over pack but it's been easier because we live in FL and usually drive to Port Canaveral. This time we have to fly across country so we may be forced to pack smarter.
A few things we have found helpful -
- magnets to decorate your door (no tape),
- small packs of laundry detergent & dryer sheets (so you can do laundry and pack less),
- a laundry bag,
-clothes pins to hang wet bathing suits on the line in the shower,
-small power strip (not many outlets in the cabin),
- Tide to go pen or Shout wipes,
- small bottles of hand sanitizer,
- your camera and charger (maybe extra memory cards) - take it with you everywhere!!!,
- small plastic hooks with suction cups (put these on the back of your door and put your lanyard on it so you can keep track of your room key),
- lanyard,
- a few zip loc bags (actually, as a mom I take these everywhere and have used them for all types of reasons!),
- glow sticks and/or night light
We have been on so many cruises we just keep a large zip loc bag with this stuff in it and have it ready to go each time.
While on the cruise you will get a Navigator with the activities for the day. There are so many fun things to do!! Be sure to visit the characters. There may be lines, but the lines are really short compared to the parks.
Also, use the kids club. Most of the kids really like the activities and it gives you a chance to sit and relax!
And something it took us a while to figure out...if you order "adult beverages" they will include a gratuity. So, be sure to actually look at the receipt, you might want to give more, but know that something has already been included.
Have fun - there have been many cruises where we never left the ship and those have been some of the best times! Enjoy the days the ship is in port because it will be really quiet.
Have fun packing!
Susan
Hi guys! We're from Ohio- Cleveland actually, we went to Disneyland in Feb this year and this is our first cruise ever. Does anyone have any ideas on types of clothing to pack? We're planning on mostly staying onboard and we're on a super tight budget. We were surprised how cold it was in February and had to make a Target run for jackets!
Any other tips and pointers? I am just learning how to dig around for information on here, so I'm sorry if I'm being totally redundant and 20 people have already asked the same questions! I am planning on packing our pirate costumes and my daughter's princess costumes, and I'm trying to make an FE for the exchange, but anything else?
Thanks.
Gigi
