The children are invited to a prince and princess tea, they are allowed to be escorted by 2 adults each. The adults can not go with out a prince or princess... so.... Some of us "Fairy God Mothers" are asking to "rent" escort a child to the tea.

We started this on the EBTA.. I think it may just catch on! I brought a small gift for my little Princess last time and will again this time. I think it would be a good thing for us Fairy God Mothers to bring a little surprise for our little Prince or Princess..... pixiedust:
I know it was awesome to see the smile on my Princess's face when I brought her a little gift.
What ya think Fairy God Mothers?

way ahead of you, I ordered my little Princess something each.

OK, my dear sweet retired Larry is spending way too much time reading these boards :surfweb:....one of the first things he said to me when I got home from work today (before I even sat down!) was "Well, PFlamingo quit her job." :woohoo:I had to laugh! You'd think we all actually know each other.

My DH Stan does the same thing! He looks so forward to "catching up" and then we have a nice chat about everyone. Feels like a "neighborhood" only international and 2-dimensional at this point! I wonder how many hubbie lurkers are really out there?? I'm really proud of the guys who have hung with us and plowed through all our shoe talk!

Pat, I am so proud of you for how steady you were in a tense situation. I always want to be "that woman" and you are my role model! When you are dealing with idiots, you have to rise above it--and you did!

Someone mentioned having irrational fears about her FE gifts, and I'm just going to say I think it's normal 'cuz every once in awhile I think the same silly things. Then I realize that it's the magic of finding something-anything-in my FE pocket as a surprise that is the joy. I could find an old fuzzy q-tip and be excited--because someone thought to give me a lil something. :yay:

I have finished putting my scrapbook exchange stuff together last night I just now have to write names and room numbers on it. I also have to figure out what to hang from my fish to put my scrapbooking stuff in. One of my friends who is coming with us but is not on the Disboards was asking me about the scrapbook exchange as she has just recently started to scrapbook (like in the past month) she really wanted to sign up but I will have to let her know it's closed. I forgot it was this far into the month. You ever have where you know how long is until you leave but it still seems so far away??:confused3

I also don't mind putting your friend on my list. I'm in the process of making my scrapbook exchange gifts and one more on the list won't make any difference. Just let me know! :goodvibes

Hi everyone,

I have a favor to ask. Right now I'm a disorganized mess! Can you please email me your screen name, stateroom number and favorite character so that I can get my projects done? I thought I had created a spreadsheet with this information, but alas, it is nowhere to be found (guess I only thought about doing it.....).

My email is msklcassidy at hotmail dot com. Sorry to spell it out, but it does avoid those who fish to fill my inbox with spam!

Thanks,

Karen

Hey Karen, there is a list in my post on the first page of dis names & stateroom numbers of those taking part in the scrapbook exchange. I didn't collect info on people's favourite characters so i'm not sure if it will help you anyway.

I'll PM you my info. :)

How neat - bookending the cruise with Disney Parks.

You've got Scottish, English, and Dutch speakers in your Princess Tea group - what a nice international adventure.

She does look like a princess.

I think it's the part of NJ around the airport, not the airport itself (I hope).

...or Pat can enjoy her doggies a little more before heading out.

She is always wearing something on her head - are you trying to cover up little devil horns? Is that why you are willing to share? :)

Yea Lynne, I was talking about the surround area, not the airport itself. It is very clean with nice shops. Plenty of things to look at durring a long layover.

A week or so ago I posted a link to a web-page for a book I thought would be good to read on the trip. I wasn't sure if it would be available to sell before the cruise. Well I got an email from the author and it is posted on Amazon.com. I know they are going to be setting it up on their website to buy it as well but since I know we are leaving soon I wanted to give you a link if you wanted to purchase it before you go.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...books&field-keywords=the+revenge+of+ben+balla

It is called The Vengence of Ben-Balla. I also wanted to state for the record in case anyone was wondering. Neither I nor my husband get anything from the sales of these books. Just trying to help out this budding author. (did that more for the moderators then you guys:))

Even a used one?????  :scared1:

;) :lmao:

One of the most useful fe gifts I ever got was a baggie containg a clean qtip, safety pin, rubber band, twist tie, wire tie and paper clip. before the voyage was over, I believe we had used every bit of the contents.

What a wonderful story. My DSIL is a pediatric oncologist and told us a story of a little girl with leukemia. she had never had her hair cut, and that day they (the staff at Arnold Palmer) were cutting her hair to have a wig made. He sat with her and held her hand thru the whole thing. Mom and Dad said having her own hair back would make such a difference. We never heard the outcome, but Disney magic spreads far and wide.

Having 2 boys I have NEVER been to the Bibbity Bobbity Boo-tique BUT I have always remembered it because of the way I first heard about it.

A little girl in our neighborhood came down with leukemia when she was 3. It was horrible - one day her parents took her to the pediatrician for what they thought was a cold and the next thing they know the doctor is telling them he has called for a helicopter to airlift her to the children's hospital. It is a heartbreaking story with a happy ending - after a two year battle she beat the cancer and is now a healthy, happy, beautiful 7 yo girl. In fact, I think my son has a little crush on her as she was the only girl he listed on a long list of friends he wants to invite to his first sleepover!! :scared1:

But things were bleak there for a while and her dad kept an online journal for friends and family to keep track of what happened. And that is how I first heard of the BBB. She had been undergoing chemo and had lost all her hair. They decided to take the family to Disney for vacation. Here is an entry her father posted about their first day in Orlando for their family vacation at WDW:

There is something magical about Disney. On Saturday morning we woke up and went over to Downtown Disney to pick up our tickets for the parks and take a quick look around. Kinda ease the kids into it a bit.
We ended up in the Disney Princess store, basically where the sell all the girly stuff. As we were walking around, we noticed that there is a ‘little girl spa’ in the back called Bibbity Bobbity Boutique. It is a place where young girls go and get their hair, makeup, nails etc done and dress up like one of the Disney Princesses. I guess in the under 10 demographic, it is a pretty important place.
So… alone, I walk up to the girl at the ‘completely overrun with young girls and their family’ front desk and ask if they have just nail polish services. She says no, they only do full packages of hair, nails, makeup. I explain to her that Haidyn has no hair. She replies that they can work with fine or thin hair. So I point over to Haidyn, the girl looks, and then… the Magic begins…..
She looks at the girl next to her and says “I need room for a special one.” Then she waves to Haidyn and brings us back into the fancy salon area.
This place is packed with young girls in various stage of princess-ification. Two of the Fairy Godmothers instantly sweep up Haidyn and she is now the star of the whole place. (I feel a little bad for the other little girls - everyone that works there wants to be part of Haidyn’s experience. I counted 5 beauticians and 2 photographers elbowing their way in.)
With her salon cape on, she selects her nail polish, all kinds of makeup, and of course jewelry. (I’ll post a video when we get back) After a good 30-40 minutes of princess-ification they apply her sash, a fair amount of pixie dust to her head and spin her towards the mirror to show her the results.
Of the 30 or so people in the spa, there wasn’t anyone with a dry eye. In all her glory – Haidyn is now officially a Princess. They had taken a girl with no hair and made her the fairest princess of them all.
We had been in Orlando 12 hours and the Magic was already in full swing. Of course there is more, but we are off to dinner so I’ll try to catch up later.

From what I have been told, there will be a Voyage of the Little Mermaid (I sure hope they are going to change the name of the show at the Studios or that will be confusing) and "Be Our Guest" Restuarant themed of course after Beauty and the Beast, There will be a seven dwarves mine ride, Snow White's Scary Adventure will be going away and in it's place will be a Princess meet 'n' greet.

So adorable!!!

That is a touching story. Makes me change my mind slightly about the BBB. Not a big fan of it because of the way some of those little girls come out looking. But you are right. Disney's service is one of the best.

GREAT story.

If you love these stories, visit the wish trip thread in the DIS-abilities forum. Every one of these kids has a story that will rip your heart out. Because of a story I read there, I now volunteer at Give Kids The world during my trips to Florida. It's a great organization with a magical resort that houses kids on Wish trips. The DIS boards also fundraise for them. YOU too, can be part of making magic for these special children!

I made extra - I'll be happy to give a set to your friend!

I'll be looking out for those things as well.:yay:

Morgan has been asking me every few days about the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique, I keep telling her we'll have to wait until we are onboard. I wish it was something we could pre-book, that would make her life much more stable!:rotfl:
I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but ... no BBB on board :sad2:
They do have a hair salon in the spa area and also hair braiding on deck 9.

My DH just comes home and first thing he asks.. What's going on today on the DIS...lol

Karen... I agree about the FE's. It is not something to stress over. We do it to have fun with it. It is so magical to find something in your FE's.... anything.. but please, no "used" Qtips...:rotfl2: It is like the FE fairy comes when you aren't looking....

Did someone complain Jean because I missed any response? I certainly would have known what you meant so no problem with me. Anyway we do have some poor airports!!!!;)

We actually love Heathrow! It is a bit tight on security, but it is awesome and we love eating at the Giraffe restaurant.

The airport is always clean and people are polite and helpful.

Hi everyone! I heard a good one the other day and wanted to share. My MIL said that putting a Beyer aspirin in your bellybutton is a cure for seasickness! She said to put a whole aspirin in your bellybutton and keep it there until is disolves. Then replace it with another one. I'm not sure how you keep an aspirin in your bellybutton :confused3

Anyone hear this before?

Never heard that one before, but you could always put a band-aide over it to keep it in! :rotfl:

Me too as I just ordered a Prince Aladdin costume for my son:laughing:

My DD loves Jasmine and has a costume! How old is you DS?

yes I can just imagine these laundry women getting home with their cases of clean, ironed, and folded clothes. Ready to put there feet up and relax...

Only to realise they no longer have Disney taking care of their kids, and they wasted the time on the cruise (when there kids were off enjoying the activities) washing and folding clothes in a windowless sweatshop.:rotfl:

SW

That's something! I'm trying to figure out how I can avoid ironing on the cruise!!!

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but ... no BBB on board :sad2:
They do have a hair salon in the spa area and also hair braiding on deck 9.

Oh well, I guess she'll have to wait until we get to WDW. Although I read a trip report of someone on last year's WBTA and she had gone to the BBB on the cruise. Maybe I misunderstood. :confused3

I have also never heard of a BBB on the Magic, so if there is I think it is new. I might need to get some fresh tiaras for my little princesses to wear! Dressing the young prince is a little harder...I think my countdown says 19 days until we leave today, oh my the teens! :dance3:

typing from my phone... will update page one later... but all DIS standbys for jost vandyke are now CLEARED!!! absolutely NO more can ne added to our group or directly. completely full. will also post directions to walk to checkin when back home this afyernoon. only those lisyed on page one... no more due to boat capacity on each boat.

Does anyone else do Netflix streaming? I saw they just added Tangled to the movies available online. YAY!!!!!

Wow, this was such a great story, thanks for sharing. It was as my mom says "a tear-jerker!"

Yeah, I had to call DCL about something else and she told me she didn't see anything about BBB on board...

I have also never heard of a BBB on the Magic, so if there is I think it is new. I might need to get some fresh tiaras for my little princesses to wear! Dressing the young prince is a little harder...I think my countdown says 19 days until we leave today, oh my the teens! :dance3:

I am very sure there is not a BBB on the Magic or Wonder.... There could be one on the Dream and Fantasy......

Unless they have added one in the last 3 months.... and I doubt that.

I'm thinking they probably went to the salon... I don't know why they couldn't do one in the salon on Princess night but I know they didn't because I was in there with my grand daughter's on princess night before.

Stan sounds like a peach :). As for q-tips, be careful what you wish for (especially with this rowdy bunch ;))!

That's something! I'm trying to figure out how I can avoid ironing on the cruise!!!
Exactly! My Downy wrinkle release is already on the "to be packed" pile :thumbsup2.
