Yay, DD got the job

Yay! :woohoo: Congratulations Stephanie! I'm sure it is very competitive out there these days & hoofing it to interviews is hard work. You go girl!

Claire Robinson 5 ingredient fix is the show

Hmmm, I've never seen that one before. There's a place on the food network website where you can look up past episodes so I think I'll check out that dessert :stir: Thanks!

I just want to say that I'm still here. I know that I don't write a lot, but I get very self conscious when writing in English.

We're back from a week at Disneyland Paris. We had a very nice time.

We also just booked the Hawaii cruise:cool1: I'm so excited. I have always wanted to see Hawaii, but I hate flying (the 9 hours to Orlando is more that enough), so this is a dream come true for me.

:banana::banana:Hi does anybody have any information about the exercise classes that the magic offers. What’s the spin class like and what does it cost, do you have to book early in the cruise?
:thumbsup2 I fear I will need to do a few classes to counteract all the lovely food I will eat.:rotfl2:
Margaret

when we did the EBTA last year there were several free exercise classes. You just had to show up a little early to be sure that there was space available. I purchased a personal training session and had a great time. Benny kicked my behind. I learned a few new ab moves. I doub't that I will pay for private sessions again but the free ones are good

 Don't worry about posting here, your English is probably much better than mine. :rotfl2: As for other languages well I can just about manage Hello in French & Spanish and that's about it. So well done you for be able to speak/write in a foreign language. :goodvibes

I'm glad you had a nice time at DLRP. Congrats for booking the Hawaiian cruise. :cheer2:

As far as I know the exercise classes are all free and you just turn up. I don't know why I know as I have never been and don't intend to!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Thanks that's good:)

DH has taken the spin classes. There is a book in the gym used for sign up, but there are lots of units available so capacity didn't seem to be an issue if you hadn't signed up in advance. As Marilyn said, there is no fee. DH cycles a lot and he found that the instructor he had really pushed them hard, it wasn't an easy workout.

:thumbsup2 Great thanks for that, I spin a lot, Chirpee expect I'll see your DH in class then. On the cunard last year it was $15 a class and they only had 10 bikes. so even if I only did a few classes that would soon add up, so it's great not having to factor that in:yay:

Margaret, I watched the spinning class in the morning when I was on the treadmill, it was some workout :scared1: it would definitely keep the lbs at bay if you did that regularly ::yes::
:thumbsup2 yes it's great exercise, and it's funny but I find it easlier on my knees than running on the treadmill so well done to you:thumbsup2 I spin four times a week , but I'm a large lady who likes her food :rotfl2::rotfl2: so needs must !!

Tood&Copper;40713350]Margaret, we are off our heads this year, check out my signature.... we have a 5 night on the Dream a month before the WBTA too :rotfl: Hopefully that won't be too much damage to shift in the month before the WBTA.

My whole year will be spent dieting I think :rotfl2:
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Isn't that just the way.... my life's default position is "on a diet". But at least you will have had a good reason for that diet, you are going to have a lot of fun:)

Margaret, I like to workout on a cruise that is this long, so on the EBTA last year I took several of the exercise classes. They are all free as others have mentioned and I remember a few different classes offered each day (maybe like 3.) Classes were spinning, yoga, morning stretch, ab blaster, pilates and I think that might be all. I don't remember having to sign up in advance for any of the classes, but for spinning, I would recommend arriving a little early b/c a few times there weren't enough bikes.

Thanks, do you know if the spins bikes have cycle shoe clips on them for spd cycle trainers....is it worth packing them:)

I did look up the fitness center on the Disney Magic and this is what I found as far as classes are concerned - http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/ships-activities/ships/magic/fitness-spa/fitness-center/

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Thanks for the link

oh well done you, i dont know how people manage to spin i tried once and:scared1: it was the hardest exercise ive ever done, never went back:rotfl:

I really enjoy it, but I wish I could do classes like yoga. Funny thing is I'm useless at riding a real bike because when I look over my shoulder to see what's behind me I fall off:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: just have no balance. Shame you won't be sitting on a bike next to me then:rotfl2:

Hey Michelle, do congratulate Stephanie from me :thumbsup2 Our daughter also works for Tesco bank, and yes she does get a discount on her shopping (think it's 10%).

Wow so a lot of you exercise on board. I'm impressed :)

For me its the Elemis Exotic Hand Ritual with Manicure and Elemis Sole Delight Foot Treatment with Pedicure.

I always have them running together so it is 100 mins of pure pampering and relaxation.

It's a must for the start of every cruise it just wipes away the major stress I have to organise my caseload before I leave and you get gorgeous hands, feet and nails for the cruise.

Mind you, I do need to go back for a fingernail re-paint on week 2 as the sanitising wipes turn the french manicure yellow after a week :lmao: I was only charged about $15 plus tip for the re-paint last WBTA which is fantastic and half of the price of home :thumbsup2

THANKS. I get my nails done at home and its sounds great. :)

Congratulations to your daughter on her job. :woohoo::woohoo:

Our middle son just got a job as well. He learned to be a radiology tech in the Army and has been looking for a job in the field for a year and a half. Even though it is a temporary job and part-time, his foot is in the door and we are SO thankful. :yay::yay:

Hi everyone!

We are joining you, and are all really excited! I'm still working on my post count so I can PM the leaders of this board to be added to the list, but in the meantime... count us in!

We signed up last July, but I just found DISboards and love the sense of community you've already achieved before this sailing - it sounds like you've all known each other for years!

So, we are Dawn and Steve, from Scotland. This is our first Disney cruise and our first TA, although we've sailed with Carnival 4 times and RCI once.

We have two children - Calum will be 6 and Eilidh will be 2 years + 4 months. Calum's counting the days already, and talks about meeting Mickey on the ship all the time. Eilidh (pronounced AY-Lee) is that fun age that's just a bit too young for the kids clubs but will probably be bored in the nursery.

I'd love to contact some of the families with little ones under 3 - we should set up some play mornings (unless this has already been done and I'm just late). We've met some great families on board cruises before, but it would be really neat to get to know people in advance.

I see Tod & Copper and Binkytell are also from Scotland - anyone else from here? I'm Canadian as well, and I saw lots of maple leaf flags about on here :)

So, that's us - I've got tons of reading to do to get us caught up. Only 4 more months!

All my best
Dawn

02. If people are interested in being in the same area as other DIS'ers to send Dan (Cliffy97) a PM with Lead Passenger name, your booking number and if you are Early or Late seating. Dan was told by Disney today that this is all they need to put folks together. :-).

We already have several people offering to be part of the lanyard underwriting group. If you wish to join, please send Noel (Birkner) a PM. If we get enough members, the cost should be $10 or less per member.

Price will be approximately $7 per t-shirt, and sizes range from Youth XS (size 2) to Youth XL; Adult S to Adult 4XL.

08. If you are interested in participating in a Mickey Mouse Club night, please check out this Mickey Mouse club post.

09. I am thinking of organizing the same tour I did last year in Madeira. Here is the Madeira link to a PDF file that gives more information about the 2010 tour. If you are interested, please send Noel (birkner) a PM.

10. We are also going to do a Champagne Girls meet. The Champagne Girls event originated on the WBPC cruise in 2008. Women get together dressed in pink to drink champagne or non alcoholic bubbly and chat. Pictures of the first meet are in this post and pictures from the last WBTA are in this post. Please PM (Clare)Pinky166 to add you name to the list.

11. If you would like to join in the Scrapbooking Exchange, please PM Clare (Pinky166) with your name and room number. The idea is to give your fellow exchangers some scrapbooking embellishments for use in your scrapbooks after you return home! For more info check this post.

16. If anyone wants to organize a postcard exchange, please feel free to start one. What we did las year is bring a postcard from where we lived and left in each other's FE. It is best to limit the number of participants no more than 25 as cost and weight to bring become an issue.

From across the Atlantic......:welcome: to you and your family! Look forward to chatting with you on disboards!!! :cool1::sail:

Nice to meet you! Disneyland Paris - ahhhh, I would like to go there someday but I've only been to Paris once and there just wasn't time.

I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time on the Hawaii cruise, the itinerary sounds very relaxing.

oh well done you, i dont know how people manage to spin i tried once and:scared1: it was the hardest exercise ive ever done, never went back:rotfl:

lol, it is hard but since you have control of the intensity, you can tailor it to your level. I DON'T like those screaming instructors though, so if the instructor is a yeller, I'll only take one class!

Thanks, do you know if the spins bikes have cycle shoe clips on them for spd cycle trainers....is it worth packing them:)

Sorry Margaret, I do not know the answer. I never noticed shoe clips on them, but I don't know what shoe clips look like so if they were there I wouldn't have known anyway

Hey Michelle, do congratulate Stephanie from me :thumbsup2 Our daughter also works for Tesco bank, and yes she does get a discount on her shopping (think it's 10%).

Wow so a lot of you exercise on board. I'm impressed :)

Working out is part of my routine at home, so I'd feel weird if I went 14 days w/o doing it. Also, getting back into exercise is sooooo hard after taking weeks off, its easier just to stay at the same level.

:yay::yay:

Sandy, congratulations to your son! Especially after he'd been looking for over a year - that is tough.

Welcome Dawn and family!!! I just joined this meet last week and got such a warm welcome, you will feel at home in no time.
:flower3: So happy you are coming along & look forward to knowing you better!

Thanks, do you know if the spins bikes have cycle shoe clips on them for spd cycle trainers....is it worth packing them:

Hi Margaret, the spin bikes don't have cycle shoe clips, just need to wear regular trainers/running shoes.
