Self-Term

I was recently in the Spring 2013 program and had to self-term about a week in because we had just found out my mother's chemo treatments were not working anymore. I didn't even have my first day of training yet, so I didn't have a manager I could call to give notice. I just went to the front desk and turned in my key and ID, they had me call someone and I gave the reason of family emergency. Does anyone know what type of rehire status I would be? It's been absolutely killing me that I left and I really want to try again next spring because this is something that I know I have to complete. I know about the 6 months period, and I was rehired at the same job I had before I left for Disney, so I will be working there for about a year and a half when apps go up.
I've read a lot of restricted and no rehires but I haven't seen anyone who has left as early as I had to

You will likely have some sort of restricted rehire - because you didn't give 2 weeks notice. It is possible the reason for your departure was indicated on your exit form, but whether for a CP or a FT the form doesn't offer different fill in boxes and all self-terms are treated as either "with notice" or "without notice."

Don't be discouraged, still reapply, but reapply early so you'll have time to jump through the extra hoops and explain your story. You should ultimately be fine.

I actually had a friend self term I think the first day due to a medical emergency and he didn't have any issues at all when he applied for even the next semester! He was a SA person and got hired on right away for FA. Especially with Family Emergencies, Disney can be really understanding.
