My girlfriend and I are planning our trip 12/27 thru 1/2. I was cleaning out some stuff tonite and came across an old Mission:Space Fastpass from when I previewed the ride in July 2003. I also recall from the Unofficial Guide to Disney World that Disney will almost always honor old fastpasses. Knowing how busy it will be while we are there, I am hoping some kind hearted people have some unused fastpasses they'd be willing to mail to me. Obviously two would be preferrable, but let's face it; beggars can't be choosers.

Please, if you have any unused fastpasses, write me at Rob61299 at aol. (I know how an email address should look, but the message board won't let me post the hyperlink. Had to get creative, sorry) I will mail you an envelope with a postage paid return envelope which you could then mail me the fastpasses in.

Thanks in advance to anyone who is willing to help us out.

Rob

I don't think this will work, mainly because FP's are dated.

If the Fastpass CM are strict about the times, I highly doubt they will be easy on the dates.

The FP's are clear that they are valid only on that date. I'd be embarrassed to try to use an expired one. I give away FP's I can't use to people at the parks that day so they don't get wasted (whenever possible that is).

If I have any unused fastpasses I take them home and scrapbook them!!! Sorry!!! I don't think you would get away with using them anyway . . . ESPECIALLY during the busiest week of the year!!!

Better to play by the rules and obtain Fastpasses legally!!
:goodvibes

Is there some reason you don't want to (or can't) get your own Fastpasses while at the park? Just curious.

Having worked at Fastpass for several years, there are always thoughtful guests unable to use their Fastpasses for that day (perhaps a youngster or grandma decided not to ride or dinner reservations interferred, etc.) and will offer them to others in the area rather than throw them away. Sometimes guests would come up to me with an extra Fastpass or two to offer to guests.

Please don't attempt to use the out-of-date Fastpasses and be turned away.
Get your own on that day, and you can always ask a CM out front if someone has given him/her and extra ticket or two they can't use. No guarantees but you can always ask.

Enjoy your Christmas visit.

We get a kick out of doing that when we don't use them. We just try the people with the biggest smiles on their face. Last year we swore some in one family were going to swallow their ears when we gave them fast passes to Thunder Mountain RR.

If you read it again I'm sure you'll see they were talking about fast passes from the same day. I've never had a problem using one that was say an hour past it's time but months past...uh, no.

The oldest FASTPASS we tested was from 2001, so it was around four years out of date. The CM's response was, and I quote, "Uh, don't you think this is a little old?" But he let us ride.

I have never had a problem using an old FastPass. They will sometimes look at you funny since you have one from a year ago but they've always let us on. In fact, I usually will grab some FastPasses on my way out so I have for the next time I'm down there.

Nothing wrong with using an old FastPass but I wouldn't ask people to send me their old ones.

Who knew!!! I'll just have to bring my unused ones from August with me today!!! I was going to use them for scrapbooking but maybe not!!!

Anyone think it is a little unethical to use old fastpasses? They are only meant to be used that same day. Fastpasses already make the line longer for the "regular line" folks...and when you're in that line...you definitely don't want 50 other people clogging up that fastpass line because they now think it's okay to use fastpasses from years ago. If Disney is going to accept this policy...why not collect them at the parks and sell them on EBay? (That also seems very wrong to me.) Lastly, if everyone starts using old fastpasses, the fastpass line won't be that fast anymore.

Just to be clear....I was joking. No way am I using FPs from August.

Let's give the OP the benefit of the doubt. It could have gone like this...He's reading the UG, trying to make a plan and thinks the guide is advocating using FastPasses from trips past. (And Len's post leads me to believe that maybe they are?! :sad2: ) Finds the DIS, thinks, "what a great community, maybe they can help." Posts his message, reads replies and now knows that using OLD FastPasses isn't a great idea.

Get to the parks early, OP, and you'll have plenty of opportunity to get FastPasses. Enjoy your trip!

Just to let you know we had a manager GIVE us old fastpasses to use when one of the rides broke down. They reuse them and told us it was ok to use it when we could. Granted I wouldn't go around collecting FP for the next trip but if the manager says it ok then if you have an old one lying around why not use it if you can. That's just my opinion.

Like many other things, if the exploitation of the leniency of enforcement negates the benefit, then they'll stop it. Of course, that will make guest recovery even more tedious. Instead of, as Angela asserts, manager using old FastPasses when a ride breaks down, guests will have to wait while the manager generates new FastPasses.
