OK - as it's now officially October and "only" 86 days until Christmas (!!!!!) I thought I'd dare to mention this idea which is pinched directly from the UK Community board!! They do a "secret santa" which works like this:

You send me a PM with your:

name & address and details of what you like (optional) eg: favourite Disney characters, chocolate, etc. or just leave that bit out if you’re happy to receive any Disney-related gift.

Post it on the thread to say you’ve sent me a PM.

I will put everyone’s name in a hat and pair you up with someone and then I’ll let you know who you are paired up with.

You buy that person a present for about £5.00, wrap it up with a tag from ‘Secret Disney Santa’ and send it to them before Christmas.

I will start a thread in December so you can post to say when you receive your present and when you’ve opened it you can post what you got.

Karen has given the go-ahead so if you think it's a good idea please PM me sometime in the next 4 weeks or so and, as I'm doing another similar thread, please clearly title your PM 'Secret Santa'.

Can DISers this side of the pond participate too? Or do you think postage will be too costly?

Who doesn't love receiving presents?

I think we all know each other quite well so the buying would be lots of fun - I wonder how many presents will be bought in The Disney Store?

That's an interesting question!!
I've had a look at postage costs and as far as I can make out, to send a "small package " to USA costs £1.37 up to 100grams if people can find something that light. I suppose anyone who thinks that's not acceptable could let me know in their PM but otherwise I'll assume it's ok. How does that sound? Last posting date to USA is 12th December (airmail obviously!!)

Yay, I love Secret Santas, and a Disney one is even more fabulous! You can definitely count me in - shall be sending a PM when I get back from Bristol! :flower:

I've sent a PM for you. Great idea! Thanks for organising it.

YES I just love Christmas.
Count me in.
As you say Di if item is not too heavy then it should not be a problem posting airmail.

Thanks for doing this, Di :)

I am happy to send to the USA but I agree if anyone isn't, to let Di know in your PM and then Di can make sure whoever gets one of our US friends doesn't mind a little extra postage :)

The same applies to you guys in America - are you happy to pay the postage costs over to the UK? I guess again if we let Di know she will work something out :goodvibes

Simple way would be to have if necessary two pots to draw from :)
I'm happy that my name is in the UK and America draw :goodvibes

Looks like this is a truly international secret santa :cool1:
Of course I could give a Little Jock doll, made in Tiawan as my gift. How's that for international :rotfl2:

I'm in! And it'll probably be something from Florida too - that's where I'm doing most of my Christmas shopping anyway!

Just noticed your rather precise count down to Florida, Steve!!!!! :rotfl: How exciting!!! Of course we'll expect a trippie!! :teeth:

I'd love to join in - PM sent!! :Pinkbounc
