What is the actual seating like for Aladdin? Is is the standard metal backless bench? We would love to try and catch this, however DH can't sit for that length without some sort of back support. If there is no back on the bench we will likely rent him a wheelchair but if there is a back, no need to spend the extra money.

It is a typical theater not a theme park theater. Very nice theater seats.

That is wonderful to hear. It is going on our "must do" list for Friday May 6.

If you have preferred seating, I recommend using the tips found here and try to sit in the first row of the second section of the orchestra area. It gets you close enough to the stage and super close to the action that happens in the aisles. It's a great show! Enjoy!

I think the first row of the mezzanine (non-preferred) was also highly recommended.

I second this recommendation. We were in the middle of the first row of the second section. DD loved it!!! One of the best things I got from DIS!!

We will not have preferred seating (at least, I don't think we will. We booked GC with DVC points and are purchasing park tickets on our own.) How early do we need to line up to get good seats? What section is good for those who aren't preferred? Is there a certain show that is less crowded than others? Thank you!

This one I took this summer. We were a few rows back from the stage and I turned around and took this shot.

Don't worry about preferred seating. It does not mean much if anything for Aladdin.

Generally it is a good idea to arrive 30 minutes before the show. I like mezzanine in the center. But all sections are good.
