Season of The Force details

I'm still curious to know if there will be character breakfasts at Sci-Fi, and what time the fireworks dessert events will begin and when we can start signing up for them!

No word on the character breakfast, but I'd imagine the dessert party sign up would start today if not very soon.

This sounds like there will be more characters to meet other than Darth Vader and Chewy, but no mention of who. I would imagine the lines for those two will be quite long.

The chances of character breakfasts, or any character meals for that matter, are very slim to none. Sci-Fi will be doing their own breakfast without characters. Supposedly, Sci-Fi CMs have said that there won't be an SW meal. H&V is doing the Minnie dining for dinner, and that's where the Jedi Mickey dinner was last year. The only hope is maybe something like Rebel Hanger, which was at Backlot Express. However, that was not really a traditional character meal. The parks blog will have an announcement when the dessert party is available for reservations. I don't see that happening today, maybe sometime this week. Apparently, the dining line CMs, or at least some of them, don't know anything about the SW dessert party. End dates for the fireworks haven't even been announced. So, they probably won't start the dessert party ressies until the final dates are announced.

Thats kinda weird, I wonder if this is a sign of them taking construction seriously, I mean to announce something at D23 and take it away so last minute, shows that although they want to keep their word with what they are offering, they do not want to make it seem like a huge central event that would draw larger than normal crowds to the theme park that will become wall to wall construction walls.

Its almost like trying to play "there is nothing special to see here" mentality to those who would make the trip only for events at DHS

Just curious, do we know where all of this information is coming from? Last night at DHS I saw a large group of people being escorted to the animation courtyard at closing, and I figured they were going to the Launch Bay since they didn't seem like the right demographic for an after hours showing of VotLM

I'm excited about the news of expanded fireworks though. Outside of cost, there's really no reason they couldn't offer them nightly like the did for Frozen. Plus if it draws people out of the other parks nighttime shows, it has to be a positive. And I personally never understood what was going to be different during SotF from the rest of the year outside of the fireworks unless the launch bay was going to be closing during the rest of the year.

Practically every website is reporting on this so I would imagine Disney released a press release this morning regarding this or every site wouldn't be doing that.

I am torn between "awesome timing!" and "this is totally going to screw up my low crowd planning."

Funny you say this because I'm feeling the same way! Glad I will be there to experience, but ticked that the nice relaxing "low" season ... going, going, GONE it is, yes! :yoda:

This article doesn't say which nights will have fireworks or what the end date is for the fireworks and doesn't mention SOTF. So, I think the last part and the parks blog announcement last week are leading people to think that there won't be an SOTF or that they are at least not using the name anymore for DHS. I think the every night fireworks is based upon there being no mention of weekends only, like some previous stuff. I am hoping that it means they will run the fireworks every night with a dessert party and have the special food/drinks and will do this for a significant part of next year, like through the summer even. I think Launch Bay will pretty much be open all next year and probably until SW Land opens.

I am hoping that the special events will be around a lot longer, which would make the season part of the name kind of weird. If they run it all next year, it's not a season really; whereas, at DLR, I think some or all of it will be a much more limited time.
