I've been looking into the FT package, and the only way we can afford it for the length of time we want to stay is to do it at the All Star. That in itself is no big deal really, but I have a few questions:

How noisy is it, really? Is it teeming with children? I certanly expect a lot of them, but is one of the AS resorts maybe quieter? (The only two available for our stay were ASMu and ASSp)

Also, when I called, I got the "you can request a king bed, but it's not guaranteed", which I wasn't surprised about. How hard is it to actually get one?

We already have reservations on Hotel Plaza Blvd, in a Tower Room at the Grosvenor (yes, I've read the opinions of that hotel on the boards, but the rate was really good). Just trying to see if the move to OP would be worth is--it's $165 more for AS for the trip.

I've stayed one time each at ASMusic and ASSports. As far as the King bed is concerned, I really can't say but I had a king bed at ASMusic without even asking! I was solo and they simply offered it to me because I'd requested Jazz top floor and that's probably all they had left there (I checked in at 7:30pm). Both were pretty quiet when I was there, but I think ASSports, at least from my experience, might be quieter. I liked that better, mostly the way it was laid out, less "bowling alley" feel, with all the buildings arranged more conveniently to the Main Building. Also, I encountered some college-aged party types at ASMusic, making it seem more like a college dorm (and before anyone gets upset, I have 2 college-aged sons, and they'd probably have had a great time there but not me). Let's say their language wasn't too "Disney-like"!

VERY VERY VERY!!! It seems that the noise never stops, and much of it is from out of control poorly supervised teens on school trips as well as litle ones running around early in the day and then crying at night. Also the turbo toilets that never stop flushing!

Pretty hard unless you need a handicapped room.

We stayed at All Stars Music. We usually stay at the moderates. I didn't find the All Stars noisy. Where we stayed it was very quiet.

We stayed at the ASsports last September. It wasn't noisy at all. We were on the third floor of one of the basketball buildings -- can't remember which one at the moment. It was just a short walk from the main building. We walked around the other All Stars and prefered the layout of the Sports.

We didn't request or get a king bed so I can't comment on that.

We are booked to stay there again this July. We had absolutely no problems.

1) Are the All Stars noisy? Well, I guess it depends on when you are going. We've stayed at Sports for three trips, and it was fine for us. Mind you we have two active kids, so that was fine for me. IT wasn't "keep you up until 2 am" noise, but occasionally after the little one went to bed, we could hear feet outside or a door closing. (Not horrible!) We didn't hear conversations or anything like that

2) King bed request. We I can tell you we asked asked for a king room when it was an adults only trip, and got it no problem. This was August 2001.
