SDFP: CHANGES COMING!! Beware the 7th of June?!

One of my colleagues used a 3rd party tour guide (no idea which one) and they used a "bunch" of different bands. I didn't ask specifics, but it sounded like 5+ bands were used each day for their family. And they were for top tier attractions, so obviously they used tickets to book the FPs and were not SDFPs.

I told him you could do the same thing on your own, but he didn't want to bother as this was a one-and-done trip for his family.

Certainly I can understand WDW wanting to curtail this. But if we can use CPFP, while it will make life more difficult, it won't stop the 3rd party tour guides or the hardcore (me included) from abusing the system... Unless they fix the change party function to require both parties to be in the park... though that would ruin the legitimate change party uses prior to visiting the parks.

I stil think WDW is doing this to roll out FP+ sales. And it also adds to the "value" of VIP tours...

I do believe the author of that article has some inside info as well, I was just kidding ;) It is interesting that as soon as they change something all of a sudden 3rd party tour guides are mentioned

The OP was trying (way to hard) to be funny, and the core information was lost in an attempt to be clever.
Not sure why you felt compelled to post this.

For me, none of the "core info" was lost. For some, it is a lot to digest and OP recognized that and therefore advised that it might be worth it to read first post several times.

Is there anything specific you're having trouble understanding in the first post? There are many good people on this thread that I'm sure would be happy to help bring you up to speed.

It doesn't matter if he said "This is all combining" or not. A FEW PEOPLE cannot keep THOUSANDS from getting SDFPs on their valid ticketed MBs/tickets. Hence, the big  on my part.
A few (100) families of 4 can take out 1200 FP+ from the system, assuming they only use one extra band each for 3 extra FP+ per person, and many people will use more than that.

In any event, SDFP is dead as of tomorrow morning and whatever some blogger writes as the reason is irrelevant, whether you wish to roll your eyes or not. :)

Well, 400 people is not still not "a few" ... it's "hundreds". I will continue to roll my eyes whenever I see hyperbole used to make a point. It diminishes from the argument.

That's not exactly accurate. Yes, SDFP in its traditional form may not work going forward. It seems an extra step will now be required to utilize SDFP. Enter CPFP.

Who knows? Maybe the new changes will motivate people to purchase additional tickets that they never would have otherwise. Something tells me Disney execs. wouldn't have a problem with that.

I will miss this loophole, but it's certainly disney's right and prerogative to secure their system.

To me, this was reminiscent of using paper fastpasses after the expiration window. I'd rope drop, ride everything with minimal waits, and collect as many fastpasses as I could throughout the morning. Then I'd just use them leisurely through the afternoon/evening.

I've only taken advantage of this loophole on two trips. I have a 13mo AP that I plan to activate in August, but took quick 2 Park-day trips in February and May with my 21mo. The AP bands got us additional advance FPs and it worked out great to ensure we had 6 good rides without lines (plus rope drop efforts) with a toddler.

I'll likely never be in a situation again with 2 sets of active ticket media, but regardless, I'm glad Disney is doing this to improve the overall guest experience.

The problem with this becoming so popular and promoted by podcasts/forums is that people then complain to Disney when it doesn't work right or they don't understand. So this just wastes Disney's efforts and causes a negative guest experience for those trying to use it.

I know it's not a popular opinion, but I'd be very happy if Disney gave a 4th FP to folks in a moderate resort, and a 5th to folks in a deluxe resort. There's clearly demand for this. With a baby I can no longer commando the parks, so I would definitely find value here.

I posted on another board that the FP+ changes are just a prelude to extra FP's for an upcharge...

I hope you are not right! I greatly prefer staying offsite and would hate having to stay onsite just to get the same amount of fastpasses as someone else.

I've been here 2 weeks and will be here through July 8. I've used SDFP's through today. Today, since my daughter left this morning, I'm down to myself and my 9 year old son. If SPFP's do end tomorrow, we are going out with a bang; 3 Testtracks, 3 big thounder mountain RR, 3 splash mountains, 1 seven Dwarfs, and 2 space mountains, from 4 to 10 tonight. I still have my daughter's AP MB and 2 other MB's with tickets attached. I guess that the 2 of us will have to make due on up to 15 FP's a day. I'll report what happens either today or tomorrow or in the next couple of weeks. Honestly, I've only found FP's useful at MK and AK. My son doesn't like Tower of Terror, so there aren't enough tier 2 attractions at HS's to justify wasting one or two just to get Toy Story or R & R Coaster. At Epcot, as of today, Mission to Mars is bing refurbished through July, and having ridden Spaceship Earth 4 times, I have no desire to ride it again this trip. As far as availability, I've been going to the Parks at opening, just to make the FP's, even if the kids were sleeping until 10. There is availability at that time, but, like I have over the last week, love checked later about changing times that I could, and by noon, there was little or no availability for rides like Splash and space Mountain, BMTR, Expedition Everest, Peter Pan, etc. Tomorrow (hopefully not today) should be interesting.

If you are using the transfer method do the other bands have to have a ticket connected to them?
