This is really just a reminder for those who use Script as a school fundraiser. You can use Disney Script to pay off your package and earn your points for school. At our school I have to order the script cards as they don't keep them in stock. So I have to plan ahead to use it to pay off the package. :goodvibes

DD's band uses scrip for their fundraising -- but I didn't order Disney because they only pay 2% and my American Express card pays 3% on travel...so I'm just going to use it. I'm sure scrip would help others though. :thumbsup2

What are you talking about? We do Escript for our schools, is this the same thing and if so what is Disney Script? Thanks. I spend a lot at Disney and would love to help my school in some way.

Our school uses the Great Lakes Scrip program. They have such a huge selection of merchants -- it's great! Basically, DD band has a coordinator that takes scrip orders every week...you just fill out the order form and she gives you the giftcards as soon as they're received. The order form shows what percentage is earned with each vendor and in our case, that amount goes directly into an account for the student to be used towards the annual band trip. It's painless fundraising as I buy giftcards for places I would normally shop at like grocery stores, department stores, etc. Here's a link to their website: http://www.glscrip.com/index.aspx?gclid=CIu0-viV8JYCFQ89awodwXXzsQ

I am sorry I was not clear. It is the grand lakes fundraiser. I think it is also called e-script. DD is at a small Catholic school and we are asked to buy a certain amount to fund raise for school. Disney will pay off my part. I will order the gift cards and then use them to pay for my package. I didn't know this was possible my first couple trips and thought it might be useful information since the 7/4 deal just came out. Most people will know if the team/school has this as a fund raising option. We use it weekly for groceries but this will add up much quicker!

A word of caution........I picked up 8 $100 cards from our school's Scrip program before our trip last month. My first plan was to pay for our DDP (we are DVC) with them. It was $380ish and I gave them 4 cards. The remaining $16.xx went on as a room credit. We had to charge the exact amount back to our room.

My second plan was to buy DS's AP with the last 4 cards. Problem here, was that you could only use 3 forms of payment....card, card, then CC. 2 gift cards left over.

Do you suppose you could take all the giftcards to a Disney store and have them combined onto one? Is that something they could have done at the World of Disney store @ WDW, or guest services?

The largest denomination available from our Scrip program is $1000 for Disney. I'm not sure how that fits into your budget.

As far as combining, I think you'd run into the 3 forms of payment problem again.
