Scared & motion sick, any rides?

I have searched the threads and do have some insight, but please help me figure out if I can ride any rides for my first trip to US.

I can handle a few rides at WDW. Things I can do....
Test track
Big thunder ( I scream, but I can do it once)
Seven drawfs
Pirates
Toy story

I hate the dark. I can handle dark for about 5 seconds.
I can handle small drops.
I get motion sick. ( I have taken meclizine before and it makes me too loopy)

So MIB, does it spin like Toy Story? Or more?

Any other pointers and tips.

I'm fine not going on any, but my kids want me to join them on a few.

there is one part on MIB you spin around fast about 5-6 times. Most of it though is you ride and shoot the aliens. I think you will be fine on:

Shrek
Terminator (3D show)
ET (you are riding a bike but it goes slow)
MIB I think is 50/50. That one part may be too much
Disaster, again one part on the subway that simulates an earthquake)
Twister (just a little wet)

IOA -- Popeye's river barge -- this is a tube ride where you will get wet
anything in Dr. Seuss

Spiderman is a simulation ride which, like MIB, has a part where you spin.

To add to the PP's list.....

You will also be fine on Hogwart's Express.

Despicable Me has non-motion seating in the front row.

Poseidon's Fury is a walk-through attraction that you could easily all do together.

If you want to try some more thrilling rides that are lower on the intensity scale then try Gringotts and Flight of Hippogriff. Also, you can walk to the lines of all the rides so if you want to check out the Hogwarts Castle and Dragon Challenge line you can without riding. I have motion sickness myself and was a HUGE ride chicken when I first went to Universal. I've been able to work my way up to intenser rides over the years.

Here's what rides I think you will enjoy/be able to ride with no ill effects...

IOA- everything in Suess, Poseiden's Fury (show), Sinbad (show), Jurassic Park Discovery Center, Olivanders (show), Frog Choir (show), Champions in Potter (show), Mystic Fountain (show), Hogwarts Express
USF- Horror Makeup Show, Blue Brothers Show, Terminator Show, Animals Actors on Stage Show, Despicable Me (get the none moving seat if possible), Disaster, ET, Kang and Konga (kinda like Dumbo), Shrek, Twister, Hogwart's Express, Puppets and Singers in DA, Olivanders, interactive wands, money exchange in DA

Here's are a group of maybes...
IOA- Popeye rafts (water ride), Pteradon Flyers, Spiderman, Storm Force (kinda like tea cups), Flight of Hippogriff
USF- Gringotts (at least check out the line), MIB, Transformers

I have a great time at Universal even not being able to ride everything. You will find plenty to do.

if the OP doesn't like motion, I would use caution on Spiderman, that one scene after Hydroman throws that beam at Spiderman (and us) that fast spinning for a few seconds may be too much.

I would also say, depending on your motion-sickness, you might skip the Cat in the Hat (Dr. Seuss)

My husband can ride every other ride in the parks excpet this one. It spind and whips around corners and it's mostly black-light. Two things that mess with his eyes & stomach.

last fall they took out the spinning in that ride.

has it recently been returned to it??

i love the cat and the hat ride but hated they took out the spinning portion.
would love to ride it again if it has now been changed back.

It turns slowly but doesn't spin like it used to..At least this was the case this past Jan when we rode

I have to start writing these rides down! My hubby's tolerance for rides sounds like the OP. So, which rides spin? He got loopy on Cat in the Hat (back when it spun a lot!).

I think I'll be bored! I liked the spinning parts. I can't take too much spinning but I was able to handle that ride. I just might suggest we skip it!

I have a solution that may minimize/eliminate your motion sickness. I too, have a big problem with it, I can get nausea on an elevator. Go to your physician and ask for a transform scopolamine patch It is available by prescription only. TRUST ME ON THIS! You can wear it (behind your ear) for up to 3 days and then replace it. It is a lifesaver! Maybe if you ingest it like this it will not make you so loopy!

I too use the scopolamine patches and highly recommend them. A prescription is a three pack, and like the pp mentioned, each lasts three days. No queazines and no drowsiness. Doesn't help with fear though...
