Scared about Cap'n Jacks

No idea where to post this one guys, sorry. (Moderators please feel free to move it to the appropriate board if neccesary).

ok so I have the DDP and we heard Cap'n Jacks has the best Margarita's and really good food. then I had started to hear how awful CJ's was and got the impression i should run far and fast away from here. Then I heard Cap'n jacks is a great place for drinks and munchies but that my TS could be better used elsewhere.

Should I pay OOP for CJ's for munchies and drinks on my downtown night at WDW and pick a different TS for that day.

or should I try CJ's as a TS and not listen to all the bad reviews.

please note that I am aware that I need to take reviews with a grain (or a brick) of salt (and I do!) but when SO MANY reviews from MORE than one website come back not so hot I started to wonder. Who can help me out with this? thoughts, opinions, please help!

You really have to figure out the reviews for yourself. I've heard rave reviews and bad reviews about most of the restaurants.

All I know is we've eaten there twice -- once on DDP and once OOP -- and the food and service have been excellent both times.

The twin lobster tails for 1 TS has to be one of the best bargains DDP offers.

I reall did not like captin Jacks! I would not waste a TS there. Both me and my dh were sorry we went there.

Captin Jacks seems to be hit or miss, you either love it or hate it.

From what I can gather reading reviews, if you like lobster and will use your TS on it, then go for it.

If not, then you might be better off elsewhere.

Our experience as well. You won't catch DH in there again. Of course, that's not to say that others may have had quite a different experience.

WE had a great dinner there. DW had twin Lobster tails, I had steak and lobster. We had crab cakes and shrimp cocktail for appe., Cheescake for dessert......was a very good meal. We ate there twice, that trip.
We had a waitress (cant remember the name) who has worked for Disney for 30 years.......awesome job,
Drinks were great, wife had the marg. I drink rum and coke......both very good. good portion and price on drinks.....

I wouldnt hesitate to go back and yes I would use TS credits.....

My family ate there last year. We had shrimp cocktail and steak and lobster.
We all enjoyed it and would go back.

We have eaten at CJ several times and never had a bad meal or service. DH likes their lunch best, but that is because he really likes their crab cake sandwich. (hhmmm... Sounds like a good deal for lunch tomorrow. )
I even went there with a group last Fall and everyone really liked it. Some talked about how good it was for quite some time. (Esp those who ate the crab cake sandwich.) Must be a good item!

We ate there on our first evening there on DDP (had steak and lobster) it was one of our best meals of the entire trip. We will definitely do it again.

We ate @ CJ's during our Christmas trip. DD and I will be eating there again in 2 weeks. My family really enjoyed the meal and the service was the best we had all week. I hope it is as good this next trip.

DH and I ate there, on the DDP, last trip. It was one of the best meals we had. I was a little apprehensive because I didn't like any of the seafood offered, but they had roast beef which was delicious. And, they offered a lobster tail with the roast beef and one other dish, can't remember chicken maybe. I gave it to DH, who ended up with three lobster tails that night!

We will definitely eat there again.

We were seated by the water, had a wonderful server. Had shrimp cocktail and crabcakes for appetizers - awesome. Had lobster for dinner - awesome (and you can ruin a lobster real fast). All cooked perfectly. Had yummy frozne drink (Capt Morgan) and the choc lava cake for dessert !

Best meal we had all week of DDP and wished we had gone twice.

Trying to decide where to make res, and that pic of HopperFan sealed it for me. Have not been there for years, so DH should be happy to go back.

WE just got back Friday- Captain Jack's was one of the best places we ate at...had pretty bad meals on the rest of the trip.
