Julie, SuperPup will sail through puppy classes, I am sure. No detention for that boy. He'll end up "Most likely to entertain via the internet", at the graduation.

Do you have any easy and painless ways to teach kids to footnote? I can never remember the format. Help!

MrJulie will not let me put him in puppy school -- he is afraid it will ruin him...????:confused3 What?????? I just want him to mostly listen and he doesn't do too badly, but he is easily distracted into negativity by the cats...:rolleyes1 Speaking of Atlas, he is 5 months old and 36 lbs.!! And as strong as an ox -- he drags me outside and off the porch....

With regards to footnotes, end notes and such, we teach the students to follow the links or find the books for each style (APA, Chicago, Turabian, etc.). Memorizing is pointless until it is the style they will use for their majority of classes. What style do your kids have to use?? I can try to get you a link that may help.

Tricia, I am going with a bright red with Mickey heads on my big toes. Toe nail solidarity to push Gustav away!

Julie, do you coach boys or girls vb? Already a player suspended thats nuts! Atlas should become an acting dog. I mean he already has an alias so he's all set!

Wilma, have you had to tell parents their child was not ready for school yet? There were a few in Justin's 3 year old class, they weren't potty trained completely yet which is against state regs so they had to go. I wouldn't want to have that conversation with the parents though! The twins are still here, they are almost 8 months old now! Speck is on my list and it isn't a list one wants to be on if you know what I mean! I watch Project Runway and I wanted to smack Kenley last night. I'm glad Keith is gone though, he made me nuts lately.

Hello sassies! I had physical therapy this morning and have been running around playing catch up all day.

Shirley~AZ only has humidity during monsoon season. Every summer from mid-June thru mid-September we are in monsoon season, and thunderstorms build up all day and break lose in the evening. Usually it's just a lot of blowing (and I mean serious blowing-it's unbelievable how many trees get blown over with each storm). But it's not every day; we can go a whole week with nothing. But the storms spike the humidity and then with the heat it's pretty miserable around here. We can get torrential downpours, too, which causes lots of street flooding. OK-done with the weather lesson...:teeth:

Bex~are you getting excited for your trip? It's getting close!!

Bonnie~you've been holding out on us! You've got some smexy relatives!

Judi~it's really nice of you to put together Bonnie's family photo album. Those are wonderful momentos she'll surely cherish for years.

Julie~there are different kinds of footnotes? Where have I been? I will have to do some internet research. The educational thread strikes again!

Wilma~I've never watched PR or Top Design. Top Design looks to frou-frou for me-have you watched it?

Tricia~I have burgundy with silver flowers on my toes. We all have beautiful toes now to show our storm solidarity! :flower3:

Time to skedaddle on home now! Talk to ya later!

:goodvibes Good evening Sassies Tricia and Heather I sure hope Gustav blows hisself away. Stay safe and I will be thinking about you gals.
Thanks for the best wishes for DH, surgery went great and he will get his other eye done in about 6 weeks. I am not too sure about his seeing well again......I have put on a couple of lbs and maybe he didn't see them but will now.:lmao:
I will be off for a week so you gals have a great labor day and keep the pic coming....they make me laugh. Shirley

:lmao:

Yes, Angie there are a billion citation styles. But the most commonly used is APA. Mostly the changes are in the order of the parts and the punctuation.

Becca, I coach JV girls' volleyball and am the assistant varsity coach. Supposedly the infraction actually occurred at the end of last school year, but the punishment carried over to now... Can you say "Cat Fight!"????

Right now Atlas is "acting" like he worked all day....

I'm looking to borrow some polish from Cole. Toenail painting today.
One for all and all for one.

Shirley, safe trip. We have a bunch of idiots on the road up here.

I have been fired for filing for unemployment. Don't think that's quite legal, but teaching me a lesson for taking a FML isn't legal either. As soon as I can find the humor in it all, you'll get the story.
In the meantime, you got kinfolk part 2.

Morning, Sassies! It is a cold, rainy day in No. VA. It's going to rain thru Sunday. Kinda sad that we can't do anything over the big weekend, but we do need the rain. Besides, we really don't have anything planned anyway, I'll probably be working on my classroom.

It's my last day working at the desk. The next time I come to work, school will be back in session! :scared1: I am not ready. At all. My brain can't focus on the things it needs to and i just keep procrastinating.

Hope everyone has a fantastic day!!

:lmao: Love the hillbilly kindfolk, Judi! Thanks for cheering me up, I am terribly disappointed about my canceled hunt!

Sorry about the firing! That ain't cool at all!

Judi first of all  on the whole job situation. Crazy people over there. :sad2: Second, Bonnie's relatives kind of creep me out. :scared: :lmao:

We've got plenty of colors to choose from for Cole's toes. I know I have at least twenty bottles. I guess with two girls it's something we always buy. :confused3 Thanks ladies for all coming together and having a toenail painting party. What fun would that be if we were all together. Laughing, drinking, eating and painting feet. :thumbsup2 Becca I might have to try your Mickey head idea for our next trip to Disney. I know I have a bottle of black polish in the mix.

Bonnie enjoy your last day at the desk. Tuesday should be a little different for you. :teacher:

Chipless cookies sound great.

Joey's doctor appointment went great. The poor thing is alittle tramatized about doctors though. He was fine in the waiting area with all the toys, but when the nurse called us back he gave the sad face and said "Don't poke Joey":sad1: Poor baby. We assured him there would be no pokes this time but he still made me pick him up and carry him back.
By the end of the appointment he was feeling better about the whole thing. He has a slight heart murmer but she said she didn't think it was anything to be concerned about. It is possible he will outgrow it.

Well....they wouldn't let Jasmine on the bus with Kate and I am now having to listen to her whine:headache:

Happy Friday Somethings!! Well, all that stupid talk about monsoons yesterday must have angered Mother Nature cuz she kicked up a doozy of a monsoon storm last night. We had 90 mile an hour wind gusts, almost 2 inches of rain in just a couple of hours, and intense lightning! It was scary! It woke me up (it was about 11:30 last night). We didn't get any of the rain in our part of town, just horrible winds and lightning. Scared the doggies! Power is out all over the place, trees and roofs were blown off, lots of buildings flooded, and ASU's new $8 million football training facility was destroyed (it was some big tent kind of structure). No damage at our house luckily!

Judi~I'm sorry about your job!! You probably have grounds for a lawsuit if you want to go that route. Not sure if you need another stressful situation right now, though! And I do remember Pettycoat Junction. Did you know my middle name is Jo? Seriously it is! My mom's dad died when she was pregnant with me and his name was Joseph, so I became Angela Jo. I was SO embarassed of it when I was little, but now I like it.

Tricia and Heather~I'm still hoping Gustav will change course or blow himself out before he hits you!

Well, I get off at noon today and have lots to get done so I'd better get busy! See ya! :hippie:

Heather, glad to here the news about Joey.:goodvibes

Angie, wasn't sure if petty coat junction would be remembered. Well if your middle name is Jo, you must be long lost kinfolk too. ;)

Tricia:hug: you doing ok?

:wave2: Everyone

Hi Judi. I'm sitting here making a list of everything that's important that I need to take if we have to evacuate. I'm not losing my pictures like I did last time. Live and learn. If we leave it looks like Sunday will be the day. Funny (well not really) that today is the Anniversary of Katrina and here I sit maybe having to leave again. :guilty:

A list is a really good idea. I'm sure I would forget so much otherwise. Are you on higher ground now than before? I'm worried about you all down there.:guilty:

We are higher now than before. This storm won't really compare to Katrina in the size of it. We should be just to the east of it which is the bad side to be on for tornados and water surge. I'm still praying that something will happen way out in the Gulf so it won't come our way at all.

Tricia, I wish there was something we could do to help.:grouphug:

Is your parent's house a safe place to go?

Tricia, just remember the Lord said He would never destroy the earth again by flood. And you and your famliy are a very important piece of that.

Thanks Judi. I think I'll print out that phrase and put it in my purse just in case things get bad and I need a little reminder.
