Ok the joy of unemployment
On the 19th of August, I recieved a call from a good friend. He just happened to be in the right place at the right time

He got wind of what game they were going to play.
No hours, if they had to use me, 30% cut in pay, 3 strikes I'm out. You have to document 3 large errors to terminate someone's job. Mine

Those errors would have been "found". "If she stays here, she's really going to have to kiss...." For the month of Aug., they would not call me in.
So, I took Mom to the oncologist, guess what days they were going to call me in? Can't work, I'm out. Yes, it was known Mom might get to start chemo in Oct.

That is still looking

by the way.
So, after filling Mom in and Mr. Judi, on that afternoon, I filed for unemployment, stating the truth, returned from an approved FML and there were no hours available. So, that put the issue on record with the state.
Needless to say, work was none to thrilled. Put me to work, I can't claim.

They stated they were going to fight it, til it was explained to them, they can't. Heaven only knows how many times I've been in family court here, UIA is just another judge.
I called work Monday, yep the Aug 15th meeting they cancelled would be Thursday Aug. 28th at 10am. First, they ask about Mom, then yelled about the UIA paperwork. I explained the underemployment rule. Once again, thanked them for the leave of absence. "Well to be honest, you were only getting on call & a Sunday here and there". They then ask for my keys and said they would not fight the unemployment.
As I was leaving, I looked them in the eye, and one again thanked them for allowing me a LOA to care for my Mom. Mom's still fussing that it wasn't a leave, if you lost your job.
Angie, Wilma, you're right it's not legal. If they pay my 26 weeks of UIA, I'll more than likely not persure the issue. Word of mouth up here, does more damage than any court in my opinion. I don't much want to work for liars, in a hostile work environment. Still doesn't mean I won't check statute of limitations, just in case.
If a vet needs paperwork, they can just bring it to me here. Just cause I don't get paid, doesn't stop me from helping them.
The Lord has reason for all, and I just got $1460 in back child support yesterday.
No, I'm still not finding any humor in it, but Mom is still alive. And that is the greatest gift of all.
Hey Becca, can you send me an application, just tell your Dad not to hire me.
