Wilma and Bonnie~~ Do ya'll teach the kids color songs and letter songs? I have the purple song stuck in my head.:rolleyes1 That is our current favorite song......I have even caught myself singing or humming it at the grocery store.:upsidedow The other day Joey was singing the Red song but instead of saying R E D spells red he was saying it spelled green......then he would look at me and giggle. I think he was just trying to mess with my head:lmao: But don't worry........I know p u r p l e actually spells green.......;)

Heather you just hit 4800 posts:woohoo:

Time to play catch the bouncing Mickey

He visits earlier and earlier every year. To lazy to PM :teeth:

Good morning, Sassy things! Tricia, it's going to be okay. You have a safe place to go and lots of people who love you. I have "No Gustav" written on my toenails in sharpie marker.:grouphug: When will you have to go to your parents?

Judi - man, what a tale. It happens a lot, so I am told. You are wise to have your priorities in order - your mom's health is much more important than the job. God seems to be in the mood to throw curveballs this week.:sad2:

Becca - you working today?

Angie - is the PT helping?

Bonnie - do you have to go in this weekend to get your room ready? I am searching for the positive in yesterday's experience, but it's slow in coming.;) Well, I guess the positive is that everyone was safe, and not all of them where inconsolable.:) I knew I got really lucky last year - I had such a great Wed./Fri. class. But every teacher knows you can't get lucky every year!

Heather - We teach the kids a song a month, and then also do some of the old favorites in circle time. What is this color song you speak of? Does it go to a tune I know? I am intrigued!

Julie - Atlas is sleeping later! Wasn't he a 5 am dog a few months ago? Is Maverick an early rising Saturday morning cartoon watching kid? He can keep Atlas company and you can snooze. Oh, and if you are concerned about Atlas picking up too much outside negative influences from TV, Maverick can read him a book instead! We have one called "Three Stories You Can Read To Your Dog". Linus used to love it! There is also a sequel if he gets hooked.:thumbsup2

Shannon - still waiting on that beach trip report...............

We are off to the UVA vs. USC football game today. It may be a drubbing, but it's family time just the same. Go Hoos! See you lovely ladies later!

Wilma~~ Each color has its own song and so does each letter. The purple song goes to the tune of Campton Races. I will write the words but beware.....it is so addictive even my husband was singing it at work...:lmao:

P-u-r- p-l-e

Purple, purple

P-u-r- p-l-e

Purple's what that spells.

Purple grapes on the vine,

Purple Kool-Aid's fine.

P-u-r- p-l-e

Purple's what that spells.

:teacher: It should be a great song for you. I have a whole book from when Kate was in Pre-K. I can copy it and send it to you if you want. Looking through it now I see number songs too.

Wilma~I'm watching the USC/UVA game. I keep waving at the screen and saying "hi Flintstones"-my DH thinks I've lost my mind!! And inquiring minds want to know, just what exactly is a Wahoo?

I've only had one PT session so far-I go back Wed and Fri next week. They gave me some stretching exercises to do at home-they're making me a little sore! It's kinda sad when stretching makes your quads sore. :sad2:

Tricia and Heather~we've been watching TWC and keeping an eye on Gustav. I'm praying for it to turn or weaken. I just don't know how that area could stand another direct hit. I hope you are dealing with this OK.

Judi~I don't understand why companies fight UI claims. They pay UI taxes every quarter-it's not like they have to write you a check!! I guess it's just cuz UI claims make their experience rating go up which increases their tax rate. But still, one claim isn't going to affect them that much. Hey-at least that child support check came at a good time!

Becca~will you still have the twins to keep you company after the boys go back to school?

Bonnie~what are you guys up to this weekend? Is it still raining?

Julie~We are very early risers, so please feel free to send Atlas over so you can sleep in. My DH can even take him hiking in the desert with our dogs, and then he'll come home all tuckered out and just sleep the rest of the day! :thumbsup2

I'm supposed to be cleaning house, but as you can probably tell I'm only dusting my keyboard at the moment! ;)

quick check in before our last night meal at the always glamourous Hooters!

heading home tomorrow a.m., and will give a full report!

miss you guys!

Hey, Ladies! Is everyone out partying?:dance3:

Tricia - if you have left already, God be with you. Keep in touch, and let us know if there is something we can do for you or your family.:grouphug:

Angie - Thanks for the Flintstone's Shout Out! We were at the game, melting. We sit on the sunny side of the stadium and it was 90 degrees with about 90% humidity today. The fans went vigilante on a pallet of ice bags and ripped them open (they won't let you bring any water, or anything in the way of hydration, into the stadium and they charge $4 for a water. It's a sore spot with the fans, especially the first few games when it's blazing hot). They had distributed orange hand towels to the fans upon entry and they became impromptu ice packs! As for the score, we knew we would be beaten and I think we played well until the last quarter. USC was phenomenal - really a joy to watch if you had no rooting interest:rolleyes: . Their fans were ultra nice, too! Oh, and a Wahoo is a fish who can reportedly drink twice it's weight. It's our "real" mascot, dating back to the days when football was a real joke here and students just came to the game to socialize.:goodvibes Now we have the respectable Sword Toting Guy, but we still chant "Wahoowa". Man, I miss college!

Judi - I can't see the bouncing Mickey! Is he the Santa one?

Shannon - Have some shrimp for me! Hope your re-entry into real life goes smoothly.:)

Tricia  Love you, stay safe and enjoy your family!

just read back a little, and Oh No!!! I am praying for ya Tricia! Hope you are well!

Anyway, got back last night from the beach (never ever wanted to leave!), and I have been going non-stop since. I won't have time to hang out on the 'puter for about a week, as Ryan is leaving for a business trip tomorrow and my mom is coming in from Ohio for a visit. If all goes well, I will not have to bury her carcass in my backyard.

Hope everyone's transitions back-to-school were smooth and uneventful!

Talk to y'all Sunday! Tricia, good luck & stay safe!

Hey Everyone -- Hope you had a FANTASTIC DAY!!! I actually had to work today, but it is all good.....

I hope that all of you are safe....

Good morning Sassies! School starts today and the boys are up and ready to go already. It was easier than I thought it would be to get them going!

Tricia, I'm hoping all is well with you. I hope you can check in today.

Judi, I'll send you an application. Its getting to be the slow season so no worries about getting hired. Its amazing to me how people are treated when they need to take FML.

Shannon, glad you had a good time at the beach!

Angie, hows the pain management going?

Bonnie, are you ready for school? I am not. It makes me sad.

Wilma, is today your first official day? Good luck with that if it is!

Heather, Julie, Shirley and anyone I missed Hi!!!

Good morning, Sassies! Yes, Becca, it's my first official day so I am hopping out the door right now. Hope your boys have a great first day!

Tricia and Heather - check in when you can - hope all is well and your blustery visitor checks out soon!

Hi Bonnie, Judi, Julie, Shannon, Angie, Sarah and anyone that I missed in my somewhat frantic state!

See ya!

 Becca, we have one more school free day here. Today.
Open house tonight.
