Can I do the double digit dance with you? This will be our first trip at AKL so I'm doing my best to read all about it before I go. We've stayed at most of the resorts so we are marking this one off the list. Only 97 more days to go!!

Hello, everyone...I just upgraded my AKL reservation to CL for July. So excited! However, I just wanted to make sure... all CL rooms at AKL now have a savanna view, correct? That's what the Disney website said and the CM said so, too, but when I called the first time I was told there were no CL savanna view rooms available. Was the CM confused?

I just want to make sure that I didn't just give up a savanna view room for CL, which wouldn't be worth it, IMHO.

That's AWESOME news!!

Do you have a visiting nurse coming in to help? Honestly, even if you think you won't need it.....you might want to schedule one for the first week, just in case.

Congrats and yes, that first CM was confused! ALL CL rooms are guaranteed savanna view.

Just switched from the dolphin to AKL. We are staying Std view for June 16th and CL for June 17-23! This is our third stay at the lodge but our 1st ever CL stay. Wanted CL for the whole stay but they didn't have any rooms available for the first night with the summer code. We did this as a surprise for our DS who is "graduating" elementary school. He has LD, ADHD and OT issues so school has been a challenge for him. We are just so proud of the progress he has made and decided to surprise him with an upgrade to his favorite resort. He has wanted to to stay CL and do the Sunrise Safari since he saw Samantha Brown on Great Hotels. I am almost bursting at the seams trying to keep it a secret from him!

Where in the hotel are the CL rooms located? I know they're on the fourth floor now, but how close are they to the lobby? TIA!

That's awesome! What a wonderful surprise that will be! After the Sunrise Safari, the guides stay and have breakfast with the group. It might be a good time for your family to get some first-hand information about the animals, especially if your son has any questions. The guides are wonderful and really enjoy talking about their jobs and the animals.

They generally put CL guests in the first pod off the lobby - both Kudu (4210-4225) and Zebra (4407-4422) trails. They want you to be as close to the elevators as possible (for the 6th Floor Lounge), yet on the Savanna where you can enjoy the animals from your room. The IPO staff can add a room request for you. I usually just specify a trail: Zebra Trail is a little closer to the elevators.
