It’s been a while since I read the treatment but I don’t think that was Trevorrow‘s plan.Kylo was always going to turn back to the light-side, so another villain made sense.
Trevorrow had him nearly killing Rey before Leia intervenes via the force and convinces him to come back to the light. It’s been a while since I read the treatment but I don’t think that was Trevorrow‘s plan.
Correct, they shoehorned in Palpatine as an attempt to try and bring back in the ticked off OT fans. It’s been a while since I read the treatment but I don’t think that was Trevorrow‘s plan.
I'd love to see at least an animated version of his Duel of the Fates movie and compare it what I remember from Rise, as I never plan to watch that again.Trevorrow had him nearly killing Rey before Leia intervenes via the force and convinces him to come back to the light.
Correct also, which would have helped Rey's likability a lot. Also, it would have went a long way to convince people Kylo wasn't the weak dollar store version of Darth Vader that he ended up being.Trevorrow had him nearly killing Rey before Leia intervenes via the force and convinces him to come back to the light.
Agreed, that would be cool to see.I'd love to see at least an animated version of his Duel of the Fates movie and compare it what I remember from Rise, as I never plan to watch that again.

I really hope they bring the Beyonder to the MCU. We need an early 70s Elvis clone.

I've lost track of whether this thread is about SW or MCU. But when it comes to great 70s heroes, my vote goes to the disco roller skating hero, Dazzler! This thread is like a freaky circle. Just when we think we've shifted topics....
Sigh. He gave his life for his sister and for the Rebellion to live on.
Both things can be true at once. That's a bit of a stretch, since Rey was the hero in that scene.
Luke's entire contribution against the rebellion in the 3 Movie Trilogy was a less than 5 minute "hey look over here" which indeed killed him (in the middle movie-never getting off a deserted island), while the remaining crew of the last ship (not blown out of space during the slow motion chase-again folks that could have used some help instead of dying) somehow finally realized "hey I think he's stalling" so maybe we should walk away from the front line of fire, towards the back of this cave?
Why didn't Luke just say "hey dummy's, go out the back while I go out front".
Better yet, why didn't they immediately start going out the back, or at least looking into it until then?
Regardless, Rey lifts a thousand boulders out of the way, and has the ship ready to take them away.
Rey is the hero of every single scene in the entire trilogy, so I guess why would this scene be any different? That's a bit of a stretch, since Rey was the hero in that scene.

That's pretty hilarious right there. I would love to run across that in a vintage shop, just to have.I've lost track of whether this thread is about SW or MCU. But when it comes to great 70s heroes, my vote goes to the disco roller skating hero, Dazzler!

One of my favorite moments in the movie. Also, "The Spark" is one of John Williams' best pieces. I could listen to it on loop for hours.
"Then we'll do it real quiet-like!"Guess Luke learned from the Han “tap ‘em on the shoulder and run off” Solo school of battle strategics because you know Leia 100% roasted Han over that to Luke over some tasty Yub Nub.
