I’m just old and can’t stay up late anymore.Had to take a break because it's too long, eh?

I simply wanted my childhood hero to be respected and admired one last time and then to die a proper hero's death.
My expectations were probably just way too high, and I should have known Hollywood would screw it up, because today they commonly screw it up.
I also saw TPM and AotC at the AMC in Downtown Disney - back when you could park right next to the building. That was my regular theater. People dressed up in SWs gear, the excitement, it was amazing! It reminded me of the lines and atmosphere when I saw the OT in theaters as a kid.Ironically, the midnight premiere is still my favorite movie-going experience ever. I saw it in the big theater at the AMC in Downtown Disney (now Disney Springs) and the crowd was electric. The amount of cheering when Mace Windu and then Yoda showed up was incredible.
Cool! We were UCF students and made the trek specifically for Theater 1 (which still had the balcony). We also saw RotS there.I also saw TPM and AotC at the AMC in Downtown Disney - back when you could park right next to the building. That was my regular theater. The commercials are the best part of Attack of the Clones! Not like people here don't have Disney+ subscriptions or all the movies on Blu-ray, but FYI, TNT is in Star Wars marathon mode from now until Tuesday night. There are a few other programs tossed in, but they're showing all nine main movies (some of them multiple times, although not always in order, for some reason), plus Solo and Rogue One.
Rumors swirling the last few days about KK leaving, any truth to any of this? She has only been predicted to be fired about 50 times over the last 5 years.
As long as she is gone and not in charge of Lucasfilm anymore, I could care less how it happens.I have heard that she is likely to be retiring in the next year or two. That is retiring, not being fired. They aren't going to fire her.
Rumor is there are big meetings today at Lucasfilm to try and stop the bleeding. Blame game is being played when it comes to Indy 5 bombing in it's opening weekend, and being on pace to be the biggest theatrical financial loss for Lucasfilm ever. Supposedly with many executives being pulled back into the office early from their summer vacations.
It's a little bit, but not too bad. I don't think Fleabag is a Super Duper Mary Sue like Rey Palpatine was.I haven't seen it yet, just hoping they don't give Indy a bit of the Luke treatment, and his sidekick the Rey treatment (although I still like Rey)-UNLESS both are done correctly.
Kennedy thinks she is a creative simply because she was in the room when George Lucas and Steven Spielberg were actually creating great things. Indy 5 is her project completely that she has been wanting to make for a long time, it is her movie. Kennedy is best at turning beloved franchises into dollar store versions of their former selves. This movie will likely lose $200-300 million.I think the newest Indy is exactly as good as The Force Awakens. They both are beat for beat synonyms of the 1st film in the franchise, they do nothing new, they have lots of pointless moments that only serve as nostalgia references, and overall they are just meh movies. Not bad, not good. The movie world would be no better or worse if either was or wasn't made. LucasFilms has fallen so far from the creative company it once was, really sad to see honestly. It's not bad enough to be outraged, just okay enough to make you feel apathetic.
Yes, this is correct. She forgot she is a producer and not a creative. Unfortunately we see this a lot with Disney these days.Kennedy thinks she is a creative simply because she was in the room when George Lucas and Steven Spielberg were actually creating things. Maybe because she is in charge of a company that has pretty much ruined two beloved film franchises from our childhood? Throw in ruining Willow in for good measure also. When you are the boss you get all the credit and all the blame, it's simply how it works. Why is it that you think she gets her hands in the creative a lot? From what I see and read, she doens't get involved with that much and let's her directors direct. Sure, it's fair if you think she's not picking the best directors, but I just don't get all the "blame" that is always focused on her specifically - she doesn't write the stories. She also never get's any credit for the stuff that people like. You know she did hire Favreau and it's not like he does everythign despite her. It's ridiculous!
