And how exactly would social distancing work with a cheer competition?

honestly don’t see social distancing happening well in most places once things open up. I mean hopefully we won’t be jamming people into things like a can of sardines anymore.

but who knows if the competition will even happen...varsity wants money and that is what they care about

But they cannot possibly allow everyone in all of the resorts in at the same time. They just can't. If they are that booked up it will be a nightmare.
Idk I saw a lot of cash reservations for DVC still available in July b/c I almost switched so they must leave a certain percentage of rooms available so they might not be as booked as it appears.

This doesn't answer your question but i find interesting that Varsity cheer was the same organization that had the huge after hours party at mk on the last day the park's were opened, they basically were the very last guests to leave the park, now they can be one of the first :D

I'm sure there is some kind NASA material just waiting to be discovered.

Get on it people.

I'd be able to handle this, double-layer chiffon (which they are now saying is a good material for masks), but not medical grade. It's enough to make others feel comfortable though - I'll wear this around here during summer while we have to when outside. i still have cloth mask too. That's not me :D

That's great, but as soon as you pull it down around your neck all the germs are back inside the mask and then it makes zero sense to even wear anything.

With the cheer and volleyball competitions being worked on actively, probably our best indicator (better than monitoring cancellations etc.) that they are targeting a opening in late June, most likely a soft open, with these groups and other conventioneers , maybe resort guests. Still think it will be early July for a real opening of the parks, Springs in May etc.

What germs? My neck isn't germy. Do you never take your mask off? Isn't that the same thing? I'm only going to wear it when I have to. I don't understand your comment.

At Disney, or anywhere warm for that matter, I guarantee people will be taking their masks on and off, wiping their face constantly. None of this means anything, but if me covering my face in crowds makes others feel safer, I'll do it. It's certainly not to prevent me from getting anything.

Security will be need to enforce these rules. My concern is the individuals or families who feel these rules don’t apply to them. Sorry, I don’t have much trust in society. Just look at all the Disney vloggers who believe they are above Disney law. One of the long standing problems in recent years is entitlement. These measures are going to be stressed to the max with the Disney crowd.

Every place has or soon will have a timeline to open, posting each city, state, county, province and towns timeline here is not needed. It will make this thread more off topic than it already is.

This might explain why that poster had an all star reservation cancelled. I think it was last week she/he posted that.

Yeah, I kind of thought, at least initially the reason for mask wearing was to prevent the wearer of the mask from infecting others should they unknowingly or otherwise be a carrier. I'm not talking about medical personnel here who's ppe actually is designed to protect them from becoming infected but rather someone who might be the carrier and is coughing or sneezing. I know plain old cloth probably isn't perfect but if Farro were behind me in a line and sneezing or coughing I'd be thankful they were wearing that scarf/mask.

It's more on topic than some of the things being discussed. But if it bothers you so badly, then by all means, do feel free to ignore me. Cheers!

Rest of your comment aside, your neck is certainly germy... probably more so than your hands. Everyone's is. Lol
Exactly why I said what I said, as soon as you touch the inside of a mask or cloth, its contaminated. The same reason you dont touch the inside while putting them on and taking them off. The only thing it would do is give people the look of being protected.

Imho that's why Univ floated words like "allow" and "recommend" on that call a few days back. They know policing people into wearing a mask is a losing proposition, especially with all the people who could have breathing issues due to underlying health issues or simply due to the fact they are exhausted and overheated because a lot of people just aren't used to FL. I cannot imagine walking around in the summer heat and humidity in a mask for any length of time in FL.
