Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

... but the boats (IMO) are really the best. Open air, easy to distance. If they’re not using the monorail, they’ll still have the boats. Just wouldn’t be super efficient.
I agree but other resorts have boat transportation so why just open up monorail resorts?

Not sure, but if there were no red or green boat routes, and the blue route was only Contemporary (instead of Wilderness Lodge, Ft. Wilderness & Contemporary) they’d have more boats available to serve the gold route (GF and Poly).

Obviously Contemporary/BLT makes sense since you can walk. Not sure what the status is on the GF walkway (is there any chance at all that could open by the time resorts start phased openings? Guessing not, but it would be nice.) Once that’s open you could walk from Poly to GF to MK. Once that is done, all 3 monorail resorts are technically walkable to MK. A long walk, but a walk! :) I could see that being a logical reason, except I doubt they’ll finish that walkway before resorts start opening.

Which is weird as far as the other rumor that monorail won’t run. I think it makes more sense that it’ll be monorail resorts only & monorail will be the on mode of transportation available. You can more easily make ppl social distance on the monorail vs the busses.

I think this too. It's pretty easy to say "One family per car" or whatever. On the boat, you are just going to have to rely on people to stay in the same spots and not gather too close to each other. And monitor that.

They may have to limit hours in the park for each guest. 8 am to 1 pm for some 2 pm to 7 pm for others.... if it looks too crowded on any boat, I'm off, not worth it. Up to CM to work on this. Every unemployed waiter/tress who wants a job switch to the crowd monitor person.

once the bridge/walkway is completed on the GF side you can basically walk from TTC to MK and on to Contemporary if you'd like. The walk from TTC to MK is about 1.7 miles, the walk from International Gateway to DHS is about a mile just to give you a perspective. Not really a bad walk for people that like to do so, unless obviously in the Summer heat

social distancing on the boats seems needless to me, the virus only spreads by bodily fluids from saliva and nose right? anyone downwind of anyone sneezing will get some particles regardless of 6ft or 8 ft or 10 ft. it'll just blow behind them helped by the wind
The front seat, by the captain will be the best place to sit on the little boats. On the fery all the way to the front in the direction the boat is moving
keeping monorails one cart per family will create huge lines at the stations (again social distancing at the station) unless the resort capacity is very low and rooms are constricted to visit a park on a specific day only

You cant really say it "seems needless" for any social distancing otherwise it becomes vague on where it is needed and isnt. Best to just apply it everywhere.

Plus assuming the reopening is dependent on government placing responsibility on companies to demonstrably implement social distancing to reopen and remain open they just wont be able to say "we didnt think it was needed here". Especially in tourist hotspots like Disney where everything is photographed and put on social media.

Just checking around and for those wondering the HUB is offering CM 50% off rates for resorts stay in June, for example a stay at All Star is at $89 per night Contemporary $280
and July 4th weekend All Star at $107 Contemporary $288 per night
The 50% is offered to CM only when there's an abundance of rooms available

Who would want to pay $300 a night in June? They are delusional as I dont think the general public would even jump all over that.

If WDW is open in June arent they going to need every CM they can to be working?

I'm waiting on them to extend AP discounts. I have a trip in June but a backup trip 7/2-7/12. 7/10 and 7/11 nights are full price. I need to call and see if they can at least put the "regular" Sun and Fun discount on those nights with the AP discount on the other nights, but I'm not in a rush.
