This doesn't answer your question but i find interesting that Varsity cheer was the same organization that had the huge after hours party at mk on the last day the park's were opened, they basically were the very last guests to leave the park, now they can be one of the first :D

great, so even if they do clear off all those hair ties on Everest while the parks are closed they will be back by the time anyone else gets to ride ;)

There were two, one was rescheduled from April and the other from May. The one from May is still on.

Wow! Where are they staying? Everyone's early May reservations were cancelled I thought.

Or am I mistaken and it's not actually on Disney property?

May rescheduled to June. April was to be moved to June, but that one canceled. Well summit was the all stars and carribean beach I believe. Not sure if they got transferred right over to those same resorts for June. My daughter did not compete this year , but I saw the packet.

Unfortunately most of the DVC resorts are at full capacity thru the end of the year. Everyone who had vacations cancelled March - May re-booked and filled the resorts. By Disney allowing this they have put themselves in quite the predicament
I just checked and there’s a lot of DVC availability all summer. Maybe I’m missing something?

Any thoughts on the Skyliner and whether it can open under social distancing/disinfectant guidelines? It would actually be a great mode of transportation for social distancing purposes, but if they have to disinfect between guests, maybe not so much. I have seen rumors about the monorail, but not the Skyliner.

@AtlantaDisneyDreamer : I was thinking about the Skyliner the other day. I was wondering if a system could be worked out with some type of disinfecting spray/fog/mist. Spray it in when a person gets off, and then use that car at the next station. It would take some logistical planning, but I think it could be done. Also, I imagine the resorts won't be at capacity for a while, so even with leaving a car empty between stops after disinfecting, it could be possible. Just some thoughts. Really hoping they use it though, our July trip will be our first time using the Skyliner!!!

I wonder if they could even disinfect them with UV light. That would seem a less messy way to do it. I read that hospitals are already using ultraviolet light to disinfect rooms, and the Orange County Convention Center says it will be using UV light to disinfect things for a volleyball tournament this summer.

If they feel a need to disinfect cars between rides, then I imagine whatever method they use for those ride cars could also be used for the Skyliner.

If you read the rumored list of what is opening at the beginning, it might not matter. The rumor is only monorail resorts will be open.

Which is weird as far as the other rumor that monorail won’t run. I think it makes more sense that it’ll be monorail resorts only & monorail will be the on mode of transportation available. You can more easily make ppl social distance on the monorail vs the busses.

Yes. I’m somewhat embarrassed to say that I’ve spent a large portion of the last week reading the rumors and speculation, yet I am no more informed of actual facts today than I was last week. :badpc:

... but the boats (IMO) are really the best. Open air, easy to distance. If they’re not using the monorail, they’ll still have the boats. Just wouldn’t be super efficient.
