My only character dining experience more recent than four decades ago was lunch at Be Our Guest last year. But the pandemic protocols were in place and the Beast just made appearances walking around. Now, next month we are having lunch at Royal Table with our three year old. What should I expect? Do the characters only walk around and wave like Beast? I think I read it will be back to a full experience by then. But does that mean each character will come by our table for a bit? Or do we wait in a line somewhere at the restaurant to meet them? For these prices, I am hoping my little guy will like, but even if he doesn't, his mom will lol. TIA

I watched a video review yesterday of the re-opening of characters at Cinderella's Royal Table. There is a meet and greet with Cinderella before being led to your table. On this occasion, 4 princesses visited during the meal - Aurora, Ariel, Jasmine and Snow White. They interacted with guests at each table and posed for photos. I understand sometimes it can be 3 princesses visiting guests and the princesses may vary (apart from the Cinderella meet at the start).

BOG is an outlier and is not actually classified as a character meal for that reason. No actual character meal works that way except in the reopening period when there were pandemic distancing protocols. That’s over now though and they all come to your table to interact and take pictures, sign autographs, etc.

We ate breakfast at CRT two weekends ago. We had the opportunity to take pictures with Cinderella before our meal, but there were no characters during our meal.

I believe the Princesses returned on February 28th.

That’s great news! I probably did not pay attention to that announcement since it was after our trip dates. I’m actually glad we got in before it resumed since it came with a price increase 😬 My boys were only interested in eating at the castle and getting the sword - not meeting any princesses…they all but refused to take a picture with Cinderella, lol.

To the OP - we did Chef Mickey’s over the summer and it was back to the regular character interaction. They all came by the table and did pictures and such. Different venue, but wanted to add that experience.

I read that one beverage is included, but can I order a soda for my meal and coffee with desert or will they charge for the coffee?

If it returns to its original ways...you met Cindy downstairs and then there were four princesses who went table to table once you were seated upstairs in the dining room. I believe each one was announced as she entered the dining room and there was a lot of crowd fanfare before the table to table greetings started. I think they kept the wishing ceremony with the wands/stars through all of the Covid measures, but we sometimes experienced princess interactions during this ceremony. So, that may be part of it again.

Interesting. We had some friends go over the holidays in 2022 and they had the wands and stars. So maybe it was brought back.
My first time there was pre-pandemic when it was the full experience and I really missed the wands on my last trip. I'm glad to hear it's back.

My girls absolutely loved this experience. Highly recommend!
My son is three. I suspect he isn't going to care at all (except for the sword 🥷) But I am starting to realize this meal is more for my partner. Last night she bought a little t-shirt to make ourson look like a prince for the meal. And I know the Little Mermaid was her favorite movie as a child, lol. So Ariel better not be on break during our meal!

We were there in August. They had a basket at the exit with wands and swords in it and my son took a sword and he liked it but it seemed like kind of an afterthought.

It’s probably so the princesses don’t get poked in the eye and parents like when kids eat something, rather than play with sword or wand whole time.
