I'm completely sick over what is happening to the swap. Daily, I am rec'ving PMs with DIS'ers backing out because they are worried about the strollers when they get there. I'm trying to keep everyone updated on the conditions and so are the previous swappers. I'm truly sorry the swap is going in a backwar direction.

I'm going to try to get everything worked out so the strollers aren't in Luggage services more than 10 days. SO we won't have to worry about one becoming disposed of for being there to long.

Hang in there swappers, don't jump the boat, a little faith, a little luck, and the awesome swappers we have...the strollers will be fine when it is your turn to use them!



Please, Please, Please do not take me off the swap! I have not been able to log onto a computer in a little while! I am still very interested in the swap!

In fact....I am about to set up details of the swap with the one before me.
 
I was wondering if anyone get let me know where I can find out what each stroller has and what is still needed for the strollers. I know there are so many posts on here that probably include it. But I don't have much time when I am able to log in....so I was hoping someone could help out.

My husband and I were planning on trying to purchase some of the things needed for Stroller #2....and then just donate it so that others could get use out of it as well.

Yeah! I just noticed that #4 was open for our dates and we need another stroller--plus it will keep the stroller out of storage for a long length of time.
So put me down parkersmomma for may 29th through june 4. I will pm you and start contacting the before and after folks.

did the tire thing for #4 get resolved? and the seat thing for #2 get resolved?

Now for issues:

#3- front tire is only lasting about a day. Could someone please donate and take a can of fix-a-flat and take it with them until the new tire gets here.

#3 Front tire fixed-THANK YOU KION for donating the can of FIX-A-FLAT and repairing the tire!
#4 replaced new seat and fixed hasp-THANK YOU Couturier for installing the seat and repairing the haspe



Now for issues:
#1...still needs the handle cover redone. The Tape has been lost in the mail. Luckily, it does have my return address on it so it is a waiting game until it comes back. Once it does, I will UPS it down this time. Forget the USPS!

#2-defective seat and working on getting it replaced for free with INSTEP. Again the tape for the handle so it can be recovered.

#3-Bad news, one side the back board was broken when KION picked it up today. MORE IN NEXT POST....

#4- Front tire issues and still waiting on replacement. MORE IN NEXT POST

#5-NO ISSUES


As for accessories:

I just got off the phone with KION and it seems there is an small issue with #3. We talked in length and it seems the new backboard material is no thicker than a clipboard (her description) and I know the older model (ORIGINAL STROLLERS) are closer to 1/4-5/8"thick. She felt the problem is being caused by the seat backs not put into the upright position before closing the stroller. Which definitely could be the cause of the broken backboards. SO please, be sure to put the seats completely up in the right position (not reclining at all) before folding the stroller up for transporting.

Also, the newer models of the strollers do seem wider than the originals. I know from experience that the original stroller would go through the doors at the resort and though it was a tigh squeeze, they went through the gates. The new ones are about an inch wider.

The Fix-a-flat worked wonderful and the tire is no longer going flat! GREAT! She also feels that the wobbly in the front tire is loose screws. So if there is a wobble, please check the TWO screws on the front tire and make sure they are tight. If you don't have a screwdriver at the resorts, please stop at ANY of the stroller rentals at the parks and seek assistance. They might possibly help or use their knowledge in repairing the front wheel.

ANYWAY...One side of the seat is broken but definitely still usable. She said her 5yo used the stroller all day and never complained at all about it.

As of 4/21/09, We do ask that you have been a member of DISBOARDS for at least 6 months and have 75 post to plus staying ONSITE to participate in our swap.. Just as you don't know us, we don't know you. Sadly, this decision was made due to the recent issues caused by people joining DISBOARDS just for a "free" stroller. We aren't trying to be unfriendly towards new DIS'ers, we are just looking out for the best welfare of our strollers. After reading and agreeing to the rules and responsibilities below and you would like to still join, Please POST in the thread AND PM parkers*momma. I'll need the following information to get you confirmed and in a swap:

Hello! Back from a wonderful vacation full of hot hot weather and magical memories!

This is my RC #2 update: When I received the stroller, after being sent to 3 different places (the Beach Club staff did not seem to be to aware of this kind of thing), the first thing I noticed was a huge rip in the very new looking seat. I called right away (the number on the stroller) and left a message with an alternate phone number for me to be reached at. I just want to say that no-one let me know about the condition of the stroller at any point before, or during our 8 day vacation. Perhaps the person before me could have left a note or a message. The last thing it says here on Stroller #2 was "the seat had been replaced", not anything about the huge tear. I barely used the stroller because I know the family after me had a baby and I did not want to make it worse. It wasn't until I met up with the swapper after me and she said the seat had been torn when the family before me had put it on.

I just want to post this to let others know for future swaps that there MUST be communication. People cannot be left in the dark for 8 days, not knowing what is going on with the stoller. A phone call or a heads up would have been great. The last thing on here, the night before I left, said nothing about a tear. Imagine my surprise and OMG when it comes around the corner looking like this:

As for the canopy, it was old and faded but worked fine. The bag underneath did not drag at all for us either. We had a small bag with about 6 drinks in it and a camera bag with 2 cameras (one slr), a camcorder, and 12 dvd's in it too. So unless you put around 30 pounds in there I think it would be fine. There was a brand new rain cover (which we did not use) and the plastic hooks metioned prior. Wheels worked fine and so did the brake.

This swap is a wonderful thing and does help save a whole lot of money. Unfortuatly we did not get to utilize it as we would have liked. I just wanted to fill you all in on the condition of the stroller and to encourage everyone to communicate a little bit better.

I got a call yesterday from the swapper in stroller 2 she also stated the seat is ripped. We will go ahead with it next week. I am not sure how much we will be able to really use it but I will at least baby sit the stroller for the time I have it. Is the person after me bringing in a new seat?
