Hi I have some bad news and some ( good for me )news. The good for me news is that we found out that I am expecting our third child yesterday! It is quite the miracle and we are pretty over the moon about it!
Bad news is that I am considered high risk (age, history and other factors) and my DH is not too crazy about me going all by myself so I am not going to go in July. I have RC1 and was to babysit RC3. Sorry!

Hi Maddi. I see you still have us down for RC#5 in October. We cancelled that trip and are now going in June (6-14). You can remove us from the October Dates.

We still need RC#5 for June 3-8.
Also I noticed that Amandam (June 8-19 RC#5) is not confirmed. Could we extend our dates through the 14th if she backs out?

We also have RC#4 June 6-11 (for my friend).

ok...we have 17 swappers who haven't read their PM's. I've sent out an email to them. Five days from today, I will be redoing the calendar as we do need active and committed DIS'ers for this swap to continue.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to stop in one last time to thank everyone for all they've done to keep the swap going, having these strollers was a Godsend even if they've been well used. Maddi, thank you most of all for your constant efforts to keep the swap going and the strollers working! I'm so sorry about the seat on #2 and the lost package! Nelep, thanks to you too for sticking around to help Maddi keep things moving along. I hope the strollers will last for everyone still waiting for them, they really were great to have and have lots of life left in them! If I'm lucky I'll be able to swing that free dining trip and may come back- I'm dreading having to use our Mac double at the zoo tomorrow because it's so much harder to push with both kids in it.

ETA- Maddi, I did bring the old seats home with me and am looking into salvaging them. I don't have much hope though due to the nature of the rips (actually the exact same as the new one on #2 but bigger) but will try. They are stained and faded from the sun as well but that is just a cosmetic issue and they match the shades that way. I'll take some pics and post them when I get a chance.

Maddi, I am going to be at POP 9/20-9/26 and i see most of the strollers are needing a sitter for 9/19-9/22 or similar dates, I will have two rooms and can get one or two of them to sit if the swapper before me can leave them in luggage services at POP and i will pick them up when i pick up RC#5. I will be at the MNSSHP on the 22nd, but i can always bring it down to luggage services before we leave for the day.

Maddi- Can you pencil me back into RC 1 or RC 3 for June 30-July 7th. We told the kids today I couldnt go and now I feel so bad, if my OB says it is okay to go ( I wont know till the 18th) I am going to go ahead and take them. This would have me dropping off RC #1&3 to POP(different swappers) and RC #2 & Tinkerbell to ASm(same swapper has both).

May 5- 9 mik0724 - reported the stroller is working great. However, neither she nor XJerseyGuy could get in touch with a82Allison so she is leaving it with luggage services for XJersey Guy

May 9- 14 a82Allison (Dolphin-AKV)paid via paypal 2/12/09 - no one has been able to contact Allison for a month (either by disboards, email, or phone) so we are assuming she isn't in the swap anymore

May 16-23 XJersey Guy (Ft. Wilderness) paid via check 2/15/09 - is busy packing!!!!

Just thought I'd re-post my tip about Fort Wilderness and luggage services since it looks like we have a swapper staying there. Not sure if the drop off will be at FW, but if it is this may help. We stayed at FW on our last trip. LOVED IT!!!! The CM at the front desk are fabulous. It is a very small front desk and "luggage services" is really a small storage room located right behind the check in counter and accessed by a door behind the check-in building. (You'll know what I mean when you get there.) HAVE FUN!!

For swappers using FORT WILDERNESS as the drop off/pick up resort:
The desk clerk told me "We don't give claim checks here. Other resorts give claim checks, but we don't."
She was insistant that they do not provide claim checks. I nicely asked to speak to a manager. The manager (Beth) immediately pulled out a claim check to attach to the stroller bag. But she said that the only reason she had them is that she got them from another resort. So I think they have a supply of claim checks, but it is not their standard practice to use them at Fort Wilderness.
Having said that... ALWAYS GET A CLAIM CHECK!!!!! Be nice about it, but ask for one.

I'm trying to keep everyone updated on the conditions and so are the previous swappers. I'm truly sorry the swap is going in a backwar direction.

I'm going to try to get everything worked out so the strollers aren't in Luggage services more than 10 days. SO we won't have to worry about one becoming disposed of for being there to long.

Hang in there swappers, don't jump the boat, a little faith, a little luck, and the awesome swappers we have...the strollers will be fine when it is your turn to use them!

Yes. Maybe having those people drop out isn't such a bad thing! Like Disnuts said, then the swaps can be combined and some of the strollers can go on to their new homes and help those in need!

Parkers*Momma - you are doing such a good thing for so many people! I know it can be frustrating - but we all love you for it! Thanks again (and again and again....)

Hello Parkersmom... I have a friend who will be going down from May 31 - June 6th. I noticed RC1 has an opening during those dates. She will be staying at the POR. She visits the Disboards but does not have an account but I talk with her everyday as we work together and have been BFF since HS.

She has DS6 whom she would be using it for. Her other DS8 would be too big.

Let me know if this would be OK, as I know you have been having trouble with people dropping out or people who just sign up for the stroller swap and then vanish.

I explained to her too that she would have to bring the stroller to the next resort for the person after her.

i'm still here, no need to drop me from the swap.

granted, i don't get to this board as often as others, but please don't lump me in with those people that 'linked in' from other sites just for a free stroller.

in fact, i used 2 of the original strollers in august 2008. i was literally the 2nd person using the original royal carriages and was the first one to point out that people should take better care of them so others further down the line would enjoy them too.

since my trip isn't until august, i only try to come here once a month. i have been following some of the drama and have now accepted the fact that if when it's my turn, just keep my fingers crossed, that everything will turn out ok.

i haven't read every message but glancing over some of the problems i noticed an issue of broken seat backs. my guess is that people are allowing their kids to stand on them so they can get a better view of parades and such. please don't let ur kids do this, even tho its tempting, because this can ruin it for others.
