Actually, Wanda Sykes, one of the Roseanne producers, called President Trump an Orangutan.

Can we please stop pretending that we don't know the difference between the two comments?

The orangutan comment speaks to 45's behavior
and low intelligence. It has nothing to do with race.

Roseanne's comment is RACIST because it follows a longstanding racist trope in America that has tied black people to apes.

You replied to the letter, not the spirit, of the other post, which was quite obvious. And in doing so, it appears that you are equating the two. Denouncing Roseanne's tweet doesn't mitigate that.

I'm sorry I don't meet your standards for indignation and righteousness.

To me, hate is hate. Namecalling is namecalling. None of it is okay to me, and I sincerely try not to be selective in how I judge it.

She has a low opinion of the man that doesn’t make it ok to call him names like a 5 year old. NEITHER comment is ok. NEITHER should be tolerated

It proves that your words have consequences and can not only hurt you, but others as well. Since the second season was already signed, they will receive their paychecks but since it's being pulled (both the old and new shows) from everywhere they will lose out on all the residual money in the future.

Hate isn't hate.

I hate racist because of their beliefs and actions.
Racists hate me because of the color of my skin.

Hate is hate and as long as you don’t see it that way, it will continue. Hate takes more away from the person doing the hating than the one they hate.

And before you start, I am not talking about racism that keeps a person of color from getting the job or living where they want or being safe. Yes that hurts the person being hated.

I am taking about the active feeling of hate of someone for whatever reason whether it be the color of their skin, their religious beliefs or the lack of, their politics, their nationality or any other reason.

What Roseanne tweeted was hate filled and racist. She should have been fired immediately, and she was. But that doesn’t make every other hateful tweet or remark made ok.

What a child does is say that they shouldn’t be in trouble because “Sally did it too”. Is anyone saying that Roseanne should not have been fired?
