Hi all. One week away! I am finalizing my touring plans, and I need your best rope drop strategies - especially where to stand for best success and best odds of getting Family of the Day.

At MK we are going to Dumbo first one day, and space mountain day 2.
At AK, I am FPing Dinosaur while wife and kids head to KS. I would fp Kali, but we are going during a morning EMH.
And, like everyone else on earth, TSMM first to FP and ride.

Looking forward to your feedback. no amount of detail is too much.
Thanks!

TSMM first to FP and ride.

If you are among the very first couple of hundred guests to reach TSM right at rope drop, I'd ride first, then FP.

We were family of the day at HS several years ago. We hadn't even thought about it before hand so there wasn't any "planning" but we were one of the first families there and spent most of our waiting time chatting with a cast member and got chosen. Luck of the draw, I guess.

At AK we usually ride and FP EE then head over the KS. Never had to wait for KS more than 10-15 minutes this way during EMH. It's quite a trek across the park though.

For MK, we usually head over to Frontierland at rope drop as everyone else heads to Dumbo, Peter Pan and Space Mountain. Ride BTMR several times and FP it too. Then head to Splash and Pirates. Usually works well for us but do have to wait for a bit later in the day if we want to ride Dumbo.

Have a great trip!

Thanks for all the replies so far.

So, going into Fantasyland for RD, where should I stand?
Tomorrowland?

Where is the best place to stand at HS at rope drop to be one of the first to sign up for Jedi Training Academy? And TSMM?

Thanks!

As you face the giant Sorcerer's hat:

TSM is to your RIGHT.

Jedi is to your LEFT.
(At this time, the Jedi Signup is held at the "Sounds Dangerous" building.)

At Rope Drop, the CMs direct guests to enter via the "Rope Drop Path" thru the Animation archway.

You will not need a FP for Dinosaur - I have never seen a line for this ride. This week we headed to EE and rode it standby 4 times, then went to Dinosaur - it was a walkon. After this we hit ITTBAB, got a FP for KS, went to Lion King, lunch and then KS with FP, EE with FP.

If you want to maximize the number of FP's you get during the day, you need to get a FP for TSM before you ride as when you exit, the return time will be in the afternoon.

@AK I would go to the safari first thing...then go ride EE and get a FP for it...then Nemo show...then Dino...

as far as where to stand there is really nowhere special....except maybe TSM...get as far upfront and the the left as possible to the rope....WHY...because you will be out of the way of the people trying to get to RnR or ToT...if you are gonna just go straight standby work your way to the CMs guiding the group...stay to the left....if your gonna get FP after you go thru the archway start getting to your right....If your not near the front there will be a bottleneck at this point.....the FP machines are on your right before the standby line

as far as the other parks...really nothing special...Soarin can be a challenge but nothing like TSM....
