would we be crowded w/ dh and me,my mother, my 18 yr. dd and 3 yr. dd. would the cm's mind the 3 yr old vs an under 3?

Crowded? Yes
Unmanagable? For me, yes
Will you be allowed? It is against the rules, it does contradict the papers we all signed, but you won't have a problem.

Will the kid fit in a porta-crib?

Where does everyone sleep?

You can't really count my opinion. I believe that three should get a two bedroom. Its vacation, who wants someone sleeping in the living room?

Only you can decide. OKW 1 bedroom units average over 1000 square feet.

You may have a problem with the bedding. A one bedroom will have a king sized bed in the bedroom and a queen sized sleeper sofa in the living room. There will also be a portable (Pac 'N Play) crib in the closet. DVC does not provide extra beds or bedding, so if the provided beds don't meet your needs, you will have to bring your own. I've never heard of DVC doing a "bed check"

This thread will probably get locked - threads about occupancy tend to get nasty and therefore the only place they are allowed is on the Debate Forum.

Enjoy your trip!

Hi,

We just came back from Boardwalk Villa, similar situation like yours. It was me, DH, my 18 months old and my 4 year old, plus my mother. We had a two bedroom, it was great. My mother loved her own privacy in the 2nd bedroom, plus the 2nd bathroom.

However, since the kids slept with me on the king bed in the master bedroom, DH slept in the living room. I was really glad that we had a 2-bedroom, otherwise, it would be a little difficult in terms of the sleeping arrangement.

I think you can manage it, but it would not be as comfortable as a two bedroom of course.

Oops, I just re-read your post, you have a 18 year old, not a 18-month old, sorry, I misread it.

Stated occupancy limits for studio and 1BR villas at all DVC resorts is four plus a child under the age of three.

Disney will not likely check the number in your room, but also won't provide extra bedding or towels.

As already mentioned, the topic of occupancy is encouraged on the Debate Board.

Enjoy!
