Rookie needs HELP!

Hi!
I hope this is the correct place to post my question. We are taking our first vacation to WDW in October with our 2 and 5 yr old boys. We have our lodging taken care of. What I really need to know is how the tickets work. If you buy a base ticket you have acess to one park per day. Can you leave for kids naps and return to that same park? If you purchase park hopper option obviously you can hop around to all the parks that day. How do you gain access to Pleasure Island? For instance, if we want go to one park with the boys during the day and then return later without the boys to Pleasure Island, what is the best way to do this? Park Hopper too? My last question, What tickets do you have to purchase for MNSSH? A base ticket and the event ticket or just a MNSSH ticket? If there is any other information you think would be helpful please feel free to share.

Personally..the park hopper option is well worth the money..esp if you have the little ones. It allows you to spent time in one park in the am take a nap rest break and return to another park in the evening (some parks like AK close earlier than others) There are also a lot of dining options in the parks. If it is in the budget, get the park hopper option. I *think* pleasure island is a seperate cover charge, but it is not really a place that the little ones will enjoy, it is largely night clubs Shopping at Downtown Disney is free. I am no expert...so I am sure somone else will pop in with more detailed info!
The tickets for MNSSHP are a seperate item. We have ours for the 22nd. We also have parkhoppers and will be there earlier in the day, but I dont think you need to have both...again if I am wrong I am sure someone will correct me!

MNSSHP is an additional charge and you do have to have tickets for it. We have ours for the 26th. I know that the tickets are more expensive on the weekends than a weeknight. I called 407-wdw-dine and they got me to the right person to order them.
Parkhopper is always the best way to go. Especially with kids because you will find that they will love one place more than another and want to go back. They seem a little steep at first but it's cheaper than buying a ticket each day you go. When we went last year my kids were 4 and 2 and they loved the magic kingdom. We would go to epcot or mgm, spend a couple of hours then hop a bus and go back to magic kingdom.

I forgot to mention too that the more days you buy the parkhopper passes for the cheaper they are. We were going to only get 7 day passes..but upped it to 9 since it was literally only 6 dollars more.

For the party itself, you just need to purchase MNSSHP tickets. However, if you are going to any park that day including the MK before the MNSSHP starts, then you will need to have a normal park ticket (base or hopper). The MNSSHP ticket will give you admission to MK only during the night that you have the ticket for.

Also, Pleasure Island is a separate admission if you have either the base or the hopper tickets, but it may (I'm not sure) be included if you buy the water parks & more option.

Don't forget, your 2 y.o. doesn't need a ticket to the parks. I would call to see if he needs one for MNSSHP. My boys are 6 and 9 and we rarely park-hopped when they were younger. We would just stay til about dinner time then leave and they'd conk out quickly at bed time. On days that we'd leave a park earlier, we relax by the pool. If you're going to leave to take naps then it might be worth it to get the hopper option. It's just a matter of preference. You could just buy the base ticket first, then add the hopper option at any WDW guest services desk once you're there if you feel like hopping.
