My wife and son are both protesting the vacation, due to DS's school situation. And hey - if they don't want to go, what's the point? So I need you guys to convince them! LOL

Since I know your family, I will do my best to convince them!
For one, I am sure your wonderful, smart DS will have less homework next year since it is only one week instead of two.
Second, your beautiful, smart DD deserves a DCL trip even if her brother doesn't want one! LOL!
And finally, what will TIMMY do without his best pals??

I can understand that things are overwhelming coming home from a two week trip, but no one can deny that DCL is a blast , especially when you spend your vacation with friends!

To put it bluntly Beano...you are going...no buts about it....your space in the land yacht is already reserved.....let the countdown begin!

We'll be there, too. It will be our first Magic cruise (after 3 on the Wonder). Would love to meet other Disboarders on the cruise and would enjoy making the date seem closer by chatting with them on email beforehand! We'd enjoy hearing from anyone else on this cruise. We're taking the kids (for the first time) on the Wonder in February, but we'll be on the Magic in October by ourselves. We told the kids we wanted to make sure it was fun enough for them first.

Also sorry we didn't get to see you at MK - guess our wires got crossed, so to speak. I love the pic of you guys though! Kaleigh is adorable. We appreciate you warning the cruise staff that we are coming on board. We hate to surprise them and overwhelm them!

Thanks Denine for warning them of our arrival...they need all the heads up they can get so they can be sure to stock up on beer for Beano! It's a good thing my DH doesn't drink that much...there wouldn't be enough for Beano.

Although, I probably make up for both of us...especially with those BBC's....I'm determined to learn how to make them at home...maybe I'll just paint one of our extra rooms to look like part of the ship, set up a lounge chair and a sun lamp, sound machine with ocean waves in the background, and pics of Beano, Renee, Kamy and Tim all around...then maybe I can stand to wait another year to

Hi guys, my DH and I will be cruising with you, also. We have cruised with Denine before and are meeting them this Dec. at WDW. Can't wait to actually see Kaleigh in person! There will be a few of us DISers onboard for a "reunion" cruise from last years 10-19 Eastern. Oct 23rd won't come soon enough for me!

We came up with "alternative" assignments for both kids to do. Their teacher's accepted these inplace of the MOUNDS of work they missed. (ex: write a journal about your trip, chart where crew member are from.....etc)

Thanks for the welcome, BeanoC. Yes, we did miss your cruise by a week last year. That was the year that Denine and Jerry took back to back cruises. Yours and ours. We had to share her on both threads, too, as I recall.

Fran - For my family, it's all or nothing. If my son doesn't go, none of us will. So he's going!!

Keeping a journal was one of the things they had him do this year. But he still seemed overwhelmed when we got home. I think he will probably change his tune after a while!!
