Wow! That's nearly 3 times what we paid in 1999 ($65pp) and less than half of next year's points are available. I need to quit looking at this thread. The level of temptation is definitely increasing!

I hope we’ll see the same trend with the rest of the resorts.

Anyone have opinions or conspiracy theories on whether buying points direct would affect ROFR decisions?

After 4 failed ROFR attempts at BLT, we are planning to purchase 100 resale + 150 direct VGF points instead. We’ve been waiting a week into ROFR so far on the resale contract but considering buying the direct points now before the current incentives end. But with the ROFR decision looming we are also nervous that buying the direct points too soon could somehow influence that decision against us…

No, one doesn't have anything to do with the other. If you are going to buy VGF, go ahead and do that before the incentives change.

It’s highly unlikely. Buy a few days before the current incentive ends and you get 10 days to cancel if the next incentive is better.

Our copper creek 100 point April contract passed rofr this past Friday October 7th (10/7). It entered rofr on 9/16. We paid $180 per point.

We had a 150 point contract that we got on 8/20 for $173 a point that was bought back on 9/15.

Glad we finally got one! We are current direct owners at poly but love wilderness lodge!

I have read several people that believe that the ROFR lady definitely has access to the records that show if you have talked to a guide about possibly buying direct. ( If you think about it, Disney is ALL about data - why wouldn’t they share such information?). I am not saying it affects ROFR but I am also not saying that it doesn’t.

I can only add that I had spoken to a guide about a few resorts a few months prior to offering and passing on an OKW contract. So it's probably just a conspiracy story.

I can't quite believe it. After 3 failed attempts it doesn't seem real. Will be interesting to see if this trend continues though or whether it is to do with the end of the financial year.
