I was wondering if maybe the whole Aulani debacle made so they would have to resell it as a subsidized contract which I wouldn’t think they could do.
I don't think that would be the case because at that point the contract is dissolved right? When Disney ROFRs points, they don't have to sell them back as the same number of points and the sub dues only transfers when the contract originated before whatever date that was in 2011 (?). Regardless it's pretty much a moot point since Disney will probably never ROFR these.

I don’t think they’d want the additional Aulani points to sell, at any price. Maybe I’m mistaken but I don’t get the impression that Aulani is sold out year round, so any points they have pose a haircut.
Oh yeah I agree, the points would practically have to be for free at like VB price point levels I think in order for them to even consider it.

MISCdisney21---$95-$17331-160-SSR-Dec-0/22, 0/23, 276/24, 160/25- sent 7/13

Also listed 2- 50pt contracts of 2042 resorts on Saturday. One sold Sunday and other on Monday at full asking price.

I wanted to extend my expiration date and get value from 2042 resorts before it went down.
You can also submit the contracts you are the seller on for this thread.

FWIW @VGCgroupie , they definitely are allowed to ROFR Aulani-Sub, and for many years they took every Vero-Sub contract that came on the market:
One of the leading resale brokers told me they have never seen a subsidized Vero Beach contract pass ROFR. Even if they end up taking a loss on the ROFR, DVD rids itself of the need to subsidize dues for decades to come.
I wouldn’t expect to see Aulani-Sub ROFR’d though until after Aulani sells out, perhaps in late 2020s from what I understand.

The original post in that same 2013 thread I pulled that quote from is the source of the 1 legendary Aulani ROFR that @intamin cited.

Ahhh I see thanks! Maybe that’s partly why I’ve never seen a Vero Sub

Technically they could, do they? No. I think there may have been like ONE subsidized Aulani contract ever that was ROFR'd but don't quote me on that.

Disney doesn't like to buy actively selling resorts let alone Aulani which has been selling forever, but I think a dirt cheap subsidized Aulani would be tempting even for them.
You are correct.

ROFRiMF a cheap subsidized or cheap non subsidized AUL doesn’t matter to Disney. They would buy whatever is the cheapest or the one they needed the most.

I would think they would want the subsidized more because then they can sell them as unsubsidized and shift more of the cost risk to the owners.

It could possibly also cause less AUL-S SAPs to be floating around the WDW system and therefore increase the resale value of some of the other WDW resorts…. making direct look more attractive by comparison.

To the best of my knowledge they can’t change if the points are subsidized or not.

Also I think the general consensus is that DVC don’t care about the resale value. What they do care about is selling direct points. IF they could do something to increase the sale of direct points they would do it in a heartbeat.

They need to own 2% of the points at a resort. They could always just make their 2% the subsidized points then.

With regards to your comment about DVC not being concerned with resale value, then why are they ROFRing POLY right now? A higher resale value makes it easier to sell points directly.

True they need to own points, but again if they are subsidized or not makes no difference.

For resale value - only Disney knows. Could be as you say that they care now that they are going to actively sell Poly2, could also be that they buy back points now to be able to sell UY's that they can't sell at Poly2 when it opens for sale.

What's the latest date we've heard on a ROFR-pass? Seems like it's been quiet in here recently. Was hoping for ours back a few days ago (sent 6/21) but seems like there's a recent dropoff in activity.

Edit: Great! Seeing some action this morning for 6/18-sent contracts. Glad to see things moving again.

Edit 2: There we go! Just got our email confirming we passed today.

Overall bulk of money received is via MF so I would think so too.
