Ringing in 2010, 6 months til we'll be back again

So when I last left you we were on our way to the table. No characters were very close so we all went and filled our plates.

So everyone had gone and gotten there food and I had gotten the girls situated and headed up to fill my own plate. Well there was a CM who was wiping up the counters. Not a big deal except he was SUPER slow and totally blocking the line to where you couldn’t get around him. Every time I started to move around him he would move down a little bit. I finally got my plate and headed back to the table.

Not long after we had started our meal. Piglet came by.

Everyone hit the buffet again. Bella was really loving the mac and cheese.

Next came Pooh.

MeMom’s favorite E-war stopped by to say hi!

So we had met three of the four characters. They had all been great and taken their time giving Brooklynn hugs and interacting with a mac and cheese covered Bella. Tigger was on his way over and we have had some really fun interactions with Tigger in the past. Our first trip he stole MeMom’s sunglasses and put them on.

Tigger comes to the table and barely stops to hug Brooklynn and allow me to get a non-blurry picture and then he was gone.

IMG_5869.jpg

Seriously the amount of time it took you to look at those two pictures is the amount of time we actually saw Tigger. He did not even acknowledge Bella. He just squeezed Brooklynn’s shoulder long enough for me to snap the picture and then went to the next table.

It was at this time that we were all finishing up. We were hitting the dessert section. MeMom commented on the fact that she would love to take a few pieces back to the room with her. That led to us starting a conversation about how we are like the poor relations talking about how we wished we had Tupperware so we could take food with us. That led Jarvis to tell us a story about how his mom had once taken an entire prime rib from a buffet one time. She stuck it in his sister’s purse and made her walk out with it. He said her purse smelled like prime rib for a week. I was laughing so hard I could barely breathe.

Our meal was over and it was time to head out. We were halfway to the door when they announced the parade and Brooklynn wanted to do it so we went back to our table and got her a napkin to wave and then she walked right behind Eeyore.

IMG_5871.jpg

I was so proud of her because that was the first time she had participated in a parade like that by herself.

We headed out and MeMom headed toward the castle for the castle lighting show while the rest of us headed to the bus stop. It was cold and crowded and time for a good night’s sleep so we could get up and hit rope drop in the morning.

that stinks!!! this happened to us with goofy at tusker house. i was peeved but i think if i had kids i would have been even more upset about it!

:lmao: that is awesome! my great-grandmother used to take the salt & pepper shakers, sweet & low and ketchup off the tables and put them in her purse. my dad tells me my uncle was mortified when she did that. i don't remember because passed away when i was very little. but i hear stories about it all the time. and my granny always carries ziploc bags in her purse for leftovers!

way to go, brooklynn! :thumbsup2

i love how bella's such a ham with the camera! :goodvibes

Looks like tigger was speed dating from table to table:laughing:

I think the woman in the background with her child on her hip was chasing him down. Maybe he skipped her all together?

Great job Brooklyn!!! She is really enjoying herself!!!
Isn't it great when you have those moments?

Yay for Brooklynn getting up and doing the parade on her own...We went to CM's a few years ago and Mickey snubbed us much like Tigger b/c we were a table of adults...only he didn't even want a picture taken :confused3

Aww..Bella and Brookie are just so cute with the characters!

I can't believe Tigger. I'm sure he made some little kids very sad that he didn't spend much time at their table!

We love Crystal Palace breakfasts.
How was the dinner buffet? (Obviously the mac and cheese was tasty :rotfl:)

Shame about Tigger - I wonder what makes some characters move on so quickly when others are taking their time? You would think that interacting with kids, especially little kids, would be what the job was all about :confused3

I love these girls!

That was one speedy tiger alright! He flew by. Brooklynn got a picture, though, and didn't think anything of it, and Bella was too little to notice. It was really mere seconds, though - so few of them that it was really worthy of mentioning to a CM as we left, but we didn't.

The pic with Pooh is my favorite. Love the mac and cheese smile!

The girl loves to eat. You should see her face when she sees a buffet line!

You know I'm very laid back, and I let just about anything go, but if he had not slowed down enough for us to get that one decent picture, I would have said something to a CM. Whoever was inside there might have been in need of an emergency potty break or something, because he was certainly moving on!

When we are in WDW, I have ziplock bags for leftovers, too. I'm not wasting food when I have paid so much for it and there are leftovers that will stay good for a while. We never know if ten minutes after we leave Brooklynn will decide she's ready to eat. Maybe it's an 'old people' thing.

I guess it depends on who is under all that fur as to what experience you will have. We've had characters that went above and beyond, some that stayed a normal length of time, and a very, very few that acted as if they were in a hurry. This was the quickest and most non-attentive ever, but like I said, Brooklynn was fine, so all was well. It would have been nice if he had stopped long enough to get a picture with Bella, too.

She's pretty much been a watcher up to now. This time she wanted to join in.

So cute ! I am surprised Pooh got that close. He may have found himself covered in mac and cheese!:lmao:

True. That was a brave Pooh. pooh:

Here's a thought that WDW might want to entertain.
Maybe a group of adults could have something on the table that indicated if the characters could pass on by, because they were just there for the food or if they were interested in pictures. That might help both parties - the characters who are unsure of what the grown-ups want and any grown-ups that aren't really interested/comfortable with characters interaction and pictures.

I can't believe Tigger. I'm sure he made some little kids very sad that he didn't spend much time at their table!

Brooklynn was okay, but if she had said anything or definitely if she had said something about him not stopping to see Bella, I would have found someone who could have brought him back for another 7.5 seconds and another picture! ::yes::

The dinner is good! We have had it twice, and it has been delicious both times. It is definitely a top five favorite of mine. I would say Crystal Palace dinner, Cape May breakfast, and our first Kona dinner have been my best meals ever.

We know there are probably mostly college kids in those costumes, and I guess they just have moments of not thinking. Most of our characters have always spent a normal amount of time with us, and that's all anyone expects. We would never want to hold up the next table from their turn. This was so fast that I really did wonder if maybe there was an emergency.

This Tigger did pose for pictures for us, though.

Some weekends seem to go really quickly.
This was one of them.
I am not so happy with it being Monday again. :upsidedow

I am not so happy with it being Monday again, either, MeMom. This weekend did fly by, and I don't feel like I have much to show for it. :(

Crystal Palace looks like a lot of fun except for the less-than-wonderful Tigger. Jarvis' story had me cracking up! His sister must have had a huge purse! :lmao:

Not too happy it is Monday here either! My goodness Miss Bella enjoyed her mac and cheese. Too cute! And good for Brooklyn jumping in and joining the parade. Sounds like a great meal! :rotfl2: to the prime rib story!!

Such a sweet Eeyore!! Love him!

Yes it did...and I'm not so excited about this Monday either.....leaving here in a few to head to the Dr for my next visit which is fine, but I have to do that yucky glucose screening test today so cross your fingers that it goes well.

Also, I just quickly looked back and can see that I can't hang out on your thread this morning, b/c there is SO much food....and I CAN'T EAT!!! :headache: And speaking of that why is EVERY commercial about food when you can't eat :confused3

Have a happy Monday everyone!!

or when you have the stomach flu like my DH and I...last night while we werre up we were attempting to watch tv..and all that was on it was food! :headache: DH and I got a 3 day weekend...feeling better now but no sleep and just really tired and sore. My DH;s whole family has had this so I had to send Caleb of with my dad today! Good thing he is self employeed and can take off to watch him!

I love that first picture of the girls and Pooh the best. They are absolutely just beaming! So adorable! :goodvibes

The story of Jarvis and the prime rib is hilarious! When we were at Crystal Palace we did grab a couple bananas and a few cookies to take with us. We're "those relative" too!!

I love the characters in front of the tree. They are so cute!

Jarvis' prime rib story has me still laughing. Too funny!

Tigger must have not been feeling very bouncy this day....

Yeah for Brooklynn doing the parade all by herself!!

Great Crystal Palace update! I love the pics of the girls with the characters. You can just see how much they love Disney already, even little Bella :goodvibes.

Nichole

maybe it's not an "old person" thing. maybe it's a "smart person" thing. ;)

i'm such a bad friend. erica and i were chatting on facebook last night and about 2 minutes after she had told me about this test, i said something like, "well, i'm gonna go eat some ice cream now," TOTALLY not thinking about what i was saying. :guilty: she was like, "don't say that....i can't have any!!!!" i told her i meant to say that i was going to eat some liver. :rolleyes1

.

Now of course, I love the Pooh pic that everyone else has mentioned, but this pic of Brooklyn with E-war cracks me up. Even though it's a little blurry, you can tell how excited she is to see him. Precious! :goodvibes

That story about Jarvis's mom putting the prime rib in her purse cracks me up. :rotfl: Zip-lock bags would definitely have helped in that case! ;)

When Kevin (DH) was younger, his family had gone to visit an aunt in Washington DC. While they were at a resturant, my MIL mentioned how pretty the drinking glasses were.....WELL, when they got back to the Aunt's house, she (the aunt) pulls a set of 4 glasses out of her purse and proceeds to give them to my MIL! My MIL said she didn't know what to say!

I was finally able to get caught back up on yalls report. Between the holidays and my grandfather passing away I have been out of the loop. I am not on here much-only to check in on yalls report!
Glad to see yall had a great holiday. Looking forward to the rest of the TR.
I'll be sending thoughts and prayers for Bella.
