Ringing in 2010, 6 months til we'll be back again

Oh, THANK YOU for those nice WL pictures!! Right now, I am looking out the window at work and it's snowing and very very cold....thank you for taking us back!!! I needed that!! :goodvibes

We looked at them a couple of times, and I really did plan to get one, but my money ran out. I was determined not to put anything but the rooms and the two big meals on the card this time. When I get a few more paychecks in the bank, I will get someone to pick one or two up for me. I have a cousin going this month, and tinkgurl is going in March, so maybe I can send cash with one of them. I think the bigger one for $19 is a better deal than the smaller one for $15. What do you think?

Yes, the larger one is definately a better buy. I just couldn't resist the little one though.... I have reservations in a couple of weeks - but I'm only keeping them if it warms up considerably by that time! If we do go I would be glad to pick one up for you. Did you see them at World of Disney? I'd like to be able to get one at a discount!

so no snow here yet, but it's not expected to get here until very late afternoon/evening. but some of the schools are already closed. :confused3 erica called me this morning on the way to work and said you guys had the same thing going on. at one point she yelled, "OH, I SEE A SNOWFLAKE!" one little snowflake! :rotfl: i'm in court all day today so i'm actually hoping it doesn't hit until tonight.

thank you for the pictures of WL. you know i always appreciate those. :goodvibes

This is a perfect place for a Christmas trip. The rustic decor is great.

:thumbsup2 i'm so excited! i'm playing with the idea of changing resorts if we have to reschedule. at this point we are still planning on a mid-december trip but if we get pregnant in the next few months we will have to rethink that. and i kinda want to save VWL for christmastime. i actually wouldn't mind staying at AKV (savanna view is the same number of points as VWL!), BLT or BCV. just depends on what time of year we end up going if we have to change our dates.

Abby is out of school, I'm here at work, and my DH is scratching his head wondering why he isn't at work. Nada, nothing, I did see a flake or two. I understand the schools need to be safe and don't want kids stuck at school, but I wish I was at home with my family (and so does DH... he is trying to get work done with an almost 4 year old - yeah right)

Yeah snowday for MeMom! Not here though. Every school around us closed but not ours. We live in the rural part of our county and when my girls left for work they had a hard time staying on the country roads. Our area of the country doesn't have the equipment to clear this many roads, so they can be bad. The girls don't get off work until after 6 tonight and they say with the single digit temps that will be moving in later it will make the roads awful. My husband would normally be driving everyone around, but he is out of town working. I will sit here with Ty today and pray for eveyone to be safe and warm that is all I can do.

Wilderness Lodge looks so cozy! I would love to be curled up in one of those cute little sitting areas right now. :goodvibes

Well, I can see the snow on the radar -- it's just peeking across the Georgia border right now, but it's coming -- unless it splits around us like it usually does.

Sitting at work waiting for 11:30 to hit so we can head home. The snow started falling about 7:00 and hasn't stopped since. It is actually getting kind of heavy. I really hope it does enough to get us out of school tomorrow or a late start would be fine too.

I'm glad you got your hoped-for snow day!

The WL pictures are gorgeous. My friend from work who is leaving tomorrow is staying there and I am super jealous.

Great update Memom , beautifully detailed pictures of the WL , the Christmas decorations are just gorgeous !

Glad to hear you got your snow day !

Sis is home for a Snow Day! :yay: Of course, she's still sleeping!

That's so awesome that two of your schools got the money Taylor Swift gave away. She really is amazing!

How did you know I'd be in my pj's while reading this post?! :rotfl:

Loved the walk around WL. Especially over at the Villas! :) I do love how they have little nooks and secluded places to sit, read, and relax.

So no school anywhere around here today. And the kicker... not a snowflake yet. While I like a snowday.... don't waste all five of mine this early in January! (This is the second of five free ones... the other day was a total joke). But if it hits terribly this afternoon I will be thankful that all the kids are at home safe and teachers too.

Sorry about your Disney store... that is the bummer. The only one nearby is almost an hour drive, so we don't get there much.

Memom... I do feel better. Yesterday I felt human again, and better today. I need to tackle laundry and get the house cleaned up after being out of commision a few days.

We're not getting much snow, but what has hit the ground is creating a coating of ice. I walked out to the mailbox a few minutes ago, and the driveway is an ice skating rink.

Our closest Disney Store will now be about 45 minutes away. Very 'doable' when the itch gets really bad, but far enough away not to be too tempting. I have to pass it to go to Jill's, so I'll have to just make it a treat to stop in when I'm traveling the Alabama pathway.

I'm glad to hear you are feeling better. I plan to do a lot of housework today, as well. I haven't really done much since returning from the trip and going straight back to school.

I just love that Wilderness Lodge has so many sitting areas. Even if you aren't staying there, it would be nice to grab some food from Roaring Fork and sit and eat in beautiful surroundings. :)

We thought we would get one of each. I never did get one, and I don't think Jill ended up with one, either, although I can't be sure, because I didn't see all of her purchases. We saw the small ones in one place (which I can't recall) and both sizes in the kitchen store in DTD. I'll probably just move them to the top of my souvenir list for the summer trip. Do you know how much I wish I could just go to Disney World just for a shopping trip? I would be fine shopping and resort hopping and not even going into a park for a weekend excursion. :cool1:

I haven't thanked you yet for the prints you sent for Jill and me. Thanks so much! And Trent loved his goodie bag, too. You were too kind!

We just have a little over a dusting right now, but the streets are shiny with ice. It is not good to be out in this if you don't have to be. Why take the chance on getting hit or hitting someone? It's not worth it to me.

We ate at Animal Kingdom Lodge on our last day. I haven't been over to explore Kidani, but I want to. Just going to AKL to eat made me want to stay there even more. We planned to do that this summer, but it's going to have to wait. We are going to eat at Boma, though, and on that day I'll try to spend a lot of time taking pictures all over AKL and Kidani Village, so that will still be a treat. I enjoy going over there just to walk around and see the animals, but I am very excited about eating there, too.

We do have a little snow over here. Be careful driving home. You know how this black ice is. Don't want anything happening to you and the baby girl!

I'm with you. Even though it probably won't do much of anything, I'll be glad when Jill and the girls are safely home shortly after lunchtime.

I'll be glad when your girls are safely home, as well. I hate being out in the ice and snow. I'm one who just needs to stay in my house when the roads are bad. I made a big Sheperd's Pie last night, and I'm thinking about making a cake. We've got food, and so far the heater is still running, so I feel very blessed.

I was actually headed to one area with a frieplace up on one of the higher levels to sit and scroll back through my pictures and just relax, but a guy with a book beat me to it by about thirty seconds, so I moved on.

Are you in northern GA? Even if you are, I bet you don't get snow very often, huh? We're pretty much on the edge of the line where snow is rare. Just a few miles north of us, southern KY gets snow a lot more than we do.

Staying at home would be my vote, of course, so you don't have to get out in it, but I know the hourly employees probably wouldn't like that so much.

They are rare, so I am happy to have it! :goodvibes

I didn't take very many, though. I guess since I have taken so many pictures of the same things on so many trips, I felt like it would be pointless. Now that I am home, I wish I had gone ahead and taken more, especially for people who haven't read along on the other reports. They might like new pictures.

That's what young people are supposed to do on snow days!

I'm glad you are getting some lounging around time on your break, too. :thumbsup2

I really know little to nothing about Taylor Swift. The boys have seen her around, and I think maybe have been at some parties/activities with her, but they don't really know her either. She's done some concerts in the schools and city park and has been seen around town shopping and eating. I think she has a good reputation, so I hope she is able to stay that way in the midst of all the 'glamour' of stardom.

I wish my house looked as nice as Wilderness Lodge. :)

Update..... Our school has decided to dismiss at 10:00.:confused3 They just started at 8:05. That is crazry to make the kids get out on those icy roads twice. I don't think or new Superintendent of Schools here understands country roads apparently. It is also going to get bitterly cold, down to 8 degrees and stay that way through the weekend. We aren't use to that at all . Everyone is going to have to run water in their houses to keep it from busting their pipes. We have a German Shepherd that is an outside dog. She has a dog bed on our garage, but I will be bring her inside and she hates it inside.Ty scares her.lol He weighs 22 pounds and she is at least 120 pounds and she is scared of him.I'll have to block her off away from Ty.That will be hard because he climbs everything. Plus she smells really bad.:rolleyes1

P.S.I read what you posted about Taylor Swift.... I really like her. I hope she stays grounded like she has so far. I'm not much of a music person but she has a few songs I like when the girls have the TV on CMT.

Hooray, Hooray for a snow day!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1: Looks like we might be getting some of that fluffy white stuff after all!!!!!:woohoo::yay:

WL looks fantastic. And it did make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!;)

Here's hoping you can squeeze as many snow days out of this thing as possible!:wizard::wizard::wizard:

It is very rare for us.

As luck would have it, it is snowing in the county next to us, but as it crosses the county line, it is changing to rain. Always. This always happens.

What beautiful photos!! I would so love to stay at WL someday!!! YAY for a Snowday hope you are enjoying your day off!!!!!!!!

Bummer about the Disney store closing I really wish we had one closer to me although the fact its hours away is probably a very good thing for my budget!

IHe's an incredible young man, if I do say so myself. Not just being a bragging mom, either, because I have had many people tell me that.

What about you? Do you run faucets all winter or have any frozen pipe problems?.

Knock on wood, nothing yet so far!!!

And you are far from bragging. He seems like a great kid. :goodvibes

Welcome home! Can't believe I am already 7 pages behind! Although I do have a good excuse. I had surgery to implant 4 neurostimulator leads and the transmitter/battery implanted. Ouch! In the long run, it will be awesome, but right now, it pretty well stinks! Anyway, my sad :sad1: news is that we are postponing our trip to Disney. We were supposed to leave 2 weeks from today, but I am not going to be able to travel for about another 11 weeks or so. So, we are now looking at the last weekend in April! Yeah! :cool1:

back to your TR! :)

Right now I'm going over to Disney Shopping to do some window shopping. Window shopping only - no buying - but it is still fun to look.

I've been doing alot of that myself the past few days! I was just checking out the new 2010 parks merchandise. I like the 2010 Mickey and Minnie!

Lots of sun in my neck of the woods today but it's really cold. BRRRRR I've got to go up to my Mom's house and then drop some movies off. I don't want to go outside but I'm going to have to. Snow isn't expected here until sometime tonight, if at all. If it does snow I'm sure I'll be getting a call at the crack of dawn advising school will be closed.

The WL looks so nice all decorated for Christmas!

Wilderness Lodge looks so cozy! I would love to be curled up in one of those cute little sitting areas right now
.

Scoot over and share that fireplace! Here's some warm stuff to go with the fire and the book! :coffee:
