What’s for Dinner Tonight?

I went to Shady Maple for the first time this summer, for breakfast.... what a place!

We just learned they do breakfast too! Might have to try that next time.

Not sure what’s for dinner tonight. We’re driving to Snowshoe, WV and it doesn’t appear any restaurants are open on Tuesdays this time of year. Luckily we have bread, peanut butter and jelly just in case.

Ground beef Stroganoff, salad.....and some veggie to be decided

Just back from the local farmers’market with veggies worthy of a portrait. I have to say that is relaxing to be able to buy the exact amount you need. No excess packaging that might hide what the goods really look and feel like or need to be thrown in the garbage. Wish this was still the norm in American supermarkets where most of us get our produce.

Got some cauliflower, green beans, endive and carrot, winter squash akin to acorn and a potato. Picked up a lamb sausage from a nearby stall and now back in my kitchen.
Decided that tonight’s (and probably tomorrow’s) meal will be roasted veggies with aioli and a sausage link. Will drink the rest of a bottle of Beaujolais Noveau with it because I can and the Wine Police can’t see me, lol.

Tonight DH is making him and DS fish. I don't eat fish so I will make myself potato and onion perogies with cooked onions on the side.

Might end up skipping dinner altogether… though I did have Chick-Fil-A earlier today… a spicy chicken sandwich and fries.

Today was a long day but bff is home. DH made pasta and meatballs with salad. It was the first thing I had eaten today so it was the best pasta!

Are you going out of NJ? I’d be curious to hear how it goes. I have found that port to be easy to drive to and boarding to be easy. We booked a cruise for next year and sold friends on it being easy and now I’m nervous.

We’ve left out of Bayonne the last two years. It’s very easy. We drive down from Maine, so we go down the night before. IIRC, parking opens around 930/945.

We had lunch/dinner at the only restaurant in Cass, WV, Shays Restaurant. I ordered a Diet Coke and the fried chicken dinner. They were out of both, haha. I got chicken dumpling soup with grilled cheese and a water instead.

Nada. My husband and son are out at a baseball game & I’m not that hungry. Maybe some tea and toast later.

Pizza porkchops......fried chops then in pasta sauce and topped with pepperonis, mushrooms and mozzarella.

Salmon for tonight, but there might not be enough for all of us, and if not, I'll have some of the leftovers too.

Veggie Cheese Casserole......layered broccoli with a mixture of cottage cheese, sour cream, biscuit mix, eggs, salt.....then topped with sliced tomatoes and grated Parmesan cheese.

I am still battling that bad cold too......a week now. I need to shake it before we leave for vacation.
