So no school anywhere around here today. And the kicker... not a snowflake yet. While I like a snowday.... don't waste all five of mine this early in January! (This is the second of five free ones... the other day was a total joke). But if it hits terribly this afternoon I will be thankful that all the kids are at home safe and teachers too.
Sorry about your
Disney store... that is the bummer. The only one nearby is almost an hour drive, so we don't get there much.
Memom... I do feel better. Yesterday I felt human again, and better today. I need to tackle laundry and get the house cleaned up after being out of commision a few days.
We're not getting much snow, but what has hit the ground is creating a coating of ice. I walked out to the mailbox a few minutes ago, and the driveway is an ice skating rink.
Our closest Disney Store will now be about 45 minutes away. Very 'doable' when the itch gets really bad, but far enough away not to be too tempting. I have to pass it to go to Jill's, so I'll have to just make it a treat to stop in when I'm traveling the Alabama pathway.
I'm glad to hear you are feeling better. I plan to do a lot of housework today, as well. I haven't really done much since returning from the trip and going straight back to school.
Oh, THANK YOU for those nice WL pictures!! Right now, I am looking out the window at work and it's snowing and very very cold....thank you for taking us back!!! I needed that!!
I just love that Wilderness Lodge has so many sitting areas. Even if you aren't staying there, it would be nice to grab some food from Roaring Fork and sit and eat in beautiful surroundings.
Yes, the larger one is definately a better buy. I just couldn't resist the little one though.... I have reservations in a couple of weeks - but I'm only keeping them if it warms up considerably by that time! If we do go I would be glad to pick one up for you. Did you see them at World of Disney? I'd like to be able to get one at a discount!
We thought we would get one of each. I never did get one, and I don't think Jill ended up with one, either, although I can't be sure, because I didn't see all of her purchases. We saw the small ones in one place (which I can't recall) and both sizes in the kitchen store in DTD. I'll probably just move them to the top of my souvenir list for the summer trip. Do you know how much I wish I could just go to Disney World just for a shopping trip? I would be fine shopping and resort hopping and not even going into a park for a weekend excursion.
I haven't thanked you yet for the prints you sent for Jill and me. Thanks so much! And Trent loved his goodie bag, too. You were too kind!
so no snow here yet, but it's not expected to get here until very late afternoon/evening. but some of the schools are already closed.

erica called me this morning on the way to work and said you guys had the same thing going on. at one point she yelled, "OH, I SEE A SNOWFLAKE!" one little snowflake!

i'm in court all day today so i'm actually hoping it doesn't hit until tonight.
thank you for the pictures of WL. you know i always appreciate those.

i'm so excited! i'm playing with the idea of changing resorts if we have to reschedule. at this point we are still planning on a mid-december trip but if we get pregnant in the next few months we will have to rethink that. and i kinda want to save VWL for christmastime. i actually wouldn't mind staying at AKV (savanna view is the same number of points as VWL!), BLT or BCV. just depends on what time of year we end up going if we have to change our dates.
We just have a little over a dusting right now, but the streets are shiny with ice. It is not good to be out in this if you don't have to be. Why take the chance on getting hit or hitting someone? It's not worth it to me.
We ate at Animal Kingdom Lodge on our last day. I haven't been over to explore Kidani, but I want to. Just going to AKL to eat made me want to stay there even more. We planned to do that this summer, but it's going to have to wait. We are going to eat at Boma, though, and on that day I'll try to spend a lot of time taking pictures all over AKL and Kidani Village, so that will still be a treat. I enjoy going over there just to walk around and see the animals, but I am very excited about eating there, too.
Abby is out of school, I'm here at work, and my DH is scratching his head wondering why he isn't at work. Nada, nothing, I did see a flake or two. I understand the schools need to be safe and don't want kids stuck at school, but I wish I was at home with my family (and so does DH... he is trying to get work done with an almost 4 year old - yeah right)
We do have a little snow over here. Be careful driving home. You know how this black ice is. Don't want anything happening to you and the baby girl!
Yeah snowday for MeMom! Not here though. Every school around us closed but not ours. We live in the rural part of our county and when my girls left for work they had a hard time staying on the country roads. Our area of the country doesn't have the equipment to clear this many roads, so they can be bad. The girls don't get off work until after 6 tonight and they say with the single digit temps that will be moving in later it will make the roads awful. My husband would normally be driving everyone around, but he is out of town working. I will sit here with Ty today and pray for eveyone to be safe and warm that is all I can do.
I'm with you. Even though it probably won't do much of anything, I'll be glad when Jill and the girls are safely home shortly after lunchtime.
I'll be glad when your girls are safely home, as well. I hate being out in the ice and snow. I'm one who just needs to stay in my house when the roads are bad. I made a big Sheperd's Pie last night, and I'm thinking about making a cake. We've got food, and so far the heater is still running, so I feel very blessed.
