Ringing in 2010, 6 months til we'll be back again

so cool to wake up for the first time in 2010 and be in disney world!

I'm glad we got to do that, and I hope we can it again sometime.

it's like a hawk spotting a field mouse. :rotfl:

Yep, from a mile away!

thanks for the pictures of the gorillas...you know i love them!

I thought of you when I put them up. I love to watch them, too. They are just massive, yet so gentle in so many ways. I really hope we can catch a glimpse of the baby when we are there in May. I will get lots of pictures for you, if we do.

and just once i wanna see a lion up and moving around. they're always being lazy for me.

We've seen the lion up a few times - once even pacing, which was cool - but he's usually just hanging out, much like his distant cousin who lives with me. :)

Love those early morning pictures of Pop. I've got the pool pic as one of my wallpaper pics. I'll be seeing Pop in 7 months! :cheer2:

That's something to look forward to! I'm glad you like the picture. That is such a fun area at Pop.

Aw...Pop pics! I now have a love for them. :lovestruc Such a great way to start 2010 I might add.

Don't tempt me with those waffles! They look yummy!

:rotfl2: Bella eyeing Brookie's food. It's like she's waiting for the moment when Brookie looks away and then she's going to swoop in and grab some. :lmao:

Wow, I can't believe how well your Safari went! I was wondering what the rain would do for the animals. That's the first pics I've ever seen of the lion up and moving!

I'm glad you liked our place and weren't disappointed after having stayed at OKW. I want to stay at your place someday. We've only visited there, but we really liked it. The guys haven't been there, so I'm hoping to take them over this summer for a lunch out on the picnic tables overlooking the water.

Great pics of the safari :thumbsup2 Wow you got the lions awake!! They always seem to be sleeping when we go by. Enjoyed seeing these pics!!

I've got some good lion pictures somewhere. I'll find them when there's a lull in the action, which will not be this week. :upsidedow

Jill and Bella look so cute all bundled up under the poncho! So cute! What better place could there be to spend the first day of a new year? Very cool! :thumbsup2 Loved the gorilla pics. They are so fascinating. I'm totally jealous that you caught the lion moving about. I don't think I have ever seen that in anyone's TR before. :worship:

I'll find the better lion pictures sometime soon. I would love, love, love to take a special AK behind the scenes tour - any of them! Wigd said they saw the lions up, too, on a recent special safari. She had a guide who gave them a lot of information that I would love to hear. For example, there are two sets of brother/sister lions that they put out for the safari.

Great POP pics! Who does not like AK in the rain. Mr Lion was happy!!

We must, because it seems like it rains a lot on us when we go to AK.

Great pictures!! Elephant butt, ostrich butt, AND gorilla butt..:rotfl: Too many days with 2nd graders I think!:goodvibes

Loved sleeping Bella in the poncho..too cute!

I have never seen the lions move or actually been able to see more than some fur.

Yeah, you just said 'the B word' three times!!!
Let's hear that collective second-grade "Ooooooh!"

As usual, she went with the flow, even in a poncho with rain beating down on her.

You will be thrilled when you get to see them up someday. You just want the driver to stop and let you sit there and watch for a while.

Don't forget that I work with middle schoolers 180 days out of the year, so, of course, I focused on the elephant hiney! :lmao:

You know, my mother has always told me that what you do on New Year's Day is what you will spend your year doing...:rolleyes1

Guess I should think about a trip over New Year's to Disney to ensure lots of visits.

And I bet they use words a little stronger than 'the B word', too. :)

I can only hope your mother is right for October and either November or December, too. I'd really like to get four trips, and as much as I love WDW, much of that desire has shifted focus. I also want to see my son!

I can't think of a better place to start the new year than at Disney World!

Your photos of the lion are great!

No baby news yet...

We'll be waiting patiently for news. I was five days late with Jill. She'll be here by this time next week. :lovestruc

Any day now! I'm so excited for you guys. Can't wait to see pictures of your little princess! Do you have a name yet? Or did I miss that?

I think she said Claire.

I can't think of a better place then Disney to wake up for the first time in a new decade. No early morning walks at POP today after such a late night. What time did you guys get back in the room? Did you make RD at AK? Bella is like my dog at dinner. She won't beg she just stares with that precious little face.
Your AK day is exactly like mine: rain, rain, and oh yes, rain! No fun but no crowds.
Bella is too cute inside Jill's poncho. What a fun safari! I got of lot of Elephant behind too during the rain safari. Elephants sure like to show off when it's raining.:lmao:

Looks like by the pictures I just went down and got food to take back to the room. The earliest picture I had was 8:14, I think. After fireworks, it probably took us an hour and a half to get back to Pop. We had to do some walking and some riding to get back, and there were a few thousand others with us.

We've had some really good safaris in the past. We like to do two each trip, if we have time.

Hmmmmm....yes! I think I (and my entire family) just realized that this weekend was Easter :rotfl:. And my mom just informed me today that we (her side of the family) wouldn't be doing anything, my husband will be leaving to go to the Masters for a day, with my uncle (mom's bro-in-law) and his son. Then my other cousin who would be my closest thing I have to a sibling is heading out this Saturday on the Disney cruise line then to the Animal Kingdom!!! Jealous! :rolleyes1 Oh well, I guess that's what happens when you have no kiddo's that hunt eggs or have to get baskets ready for anyone.....but that's soon to change :goodvibes

Yep, you'll know about all the major holidays when they come around next time. :thumbsup2

We left the Poly at 12:30 and got back to Pop at 1:50. So an hour and 20 minutes which isn't terrible. We walked to the TTC from the Poly and caught the monorail to Epcot and then walked to the bus stop and waited in an extremely long line with about a zillion wheelchairs in it.

Yeah, you just said 'the B word' three times!!!
Let's hear that collective second-grade "Ooooooh!"

:rotfl: That was exactly what I was thinking when I read all this hub bub about rear ends... then again, I do have a 2nd grader at home .

FUN posts and photos! What a fun waffle at Pop! How Disney! New Year's Eve sounds like a great time there...

Wow, waking up to start a new year at WDW...I honestly can't think of anything better! :cloud9:

Bella caught an eye of Brooklynn's food and wasn't changing her gaze until she got some what was in that bag! :rotfl:

We attempted staying in Epcot while it was raining but we weren't very successful...you get 2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 for braving it!

I have to go back and watch the fireworks Jill posted when I get home from work today.

Great POP pictures it's so pretty over there the colors are so vibrant , I really need to get over there & see it in person one day !

AK poncho pictures are to cute :) We also had to spend a rainy day at AK sporting ponchos & stroller covers back in 07 !

How awesome to spend the 1st day of the New Year at WDW , truly no better place than that for us Disney fans !

:goodvibes I was going to say that the colors a la Pop look very vibrant too! ;)
I think I am going to need my sunglasses for my sleepover there in ohhhhh 32 days or so :rolleyes1
Why is it that I will never tire of seeing pictures of food? :confused3
Or shopping :rolleyes1
Beautiful safari pictures.....and you got my favorite-- the bontebok....they are so pretty :)

I love your update. It brought such a smile to my face. We would love to do a future Red Robin meet. I am 40 weeks today and about to head to my weekly doc appt. Hopefully, we have progress as I really don't want to have to induce. I'll keep you all posted.

Love all your pics of a wet, 2010 POP! It looks like such a fun place to stay.

The picture of Bella "eyeballing" Brooklynn's food it too funny.

Those wet pictures remind me of that day. We got up that morning and left out sometime between 9-9:30 to head home. We hadn't driven far from Orlando, and the sky was wicked dark and stormy. Of course it rained on us for the next 3-4 hours.

The Pop and AK pictures are just what I needed today. It's been an atrocious day at work and I am very much missing my Happy Place. What a great way to start the year, at Pop Century! :thumbsup2 Have they added a 2000 section yet? Surely that must be coming, right? Great Safari pictures too. The rain must not really bother the animals much. :)

hahahahaa about the elephant pic!!! Great safari pics memom!!! What a wet morning! Love the foody pics too!

please do! i hope you see him/her too. last time i checked they didn't know if it was a boy or a girl because mama was holding it so close to her, but they may have figured it out since then. i just think they are amazing animals to watch. they're so expressive and you have to wonder what they are thinking when they are gazing back at us.

Oh I do hope the next few weeks go by quickly...I want to be in AK! I never knew there were ostriches! I love them! I know they're birds but they are just so funny looking!

I get my fill of the silliness at school. Any time a student discovers the Human Body books on the shelf, there is a gathering around to check out certain parts of the skeleton. Believe me, I have nothing worse than the skeleton in that room, because there would be some pretty wild conversations if I did. That goes for animal skeletons, too. They know what goes where! Even some of the picture dictionaries can get dangerous in the hand of an eight year old!

I try to have one Pop waffle each trip. It brings me much happiness. :)

Bella will be in heaven Saturday. There will be food at every turn! :goodvibes

Hope you enjoyed the fireworks on video. They were amazing in real life.

Yes, you need to go check out our place. ::yes::

We're trying to be there at every holiday at least once. Next up - Mother's Day! :cool1:

I don't know, but I never tire of food, either. My bank account, however, is tired of shopping. :upsidedow

The safari is one of our very favorite things to do on any trip.

Keep us posted on everything. This is an exciting time! :dance3:

We like it. We feel very comfortable there. :)

Both girls are the source of a lot of laughs for us. ;)

I'm glad the pictures could help brighten up your day. Coming to the DIS for even a few minutes every day is a happy thing for me. I have not had much computer time this week, because I have had lots of school obligations and party stuff to do. I am hoping to enjoy some down time (computer time) Thursday night, since there is no school Friday.

A wet morning at Pop Century is just so much more exciting than a wet morning at home. :goodvibes

Someone said it was a girl - either tinkgurl or wigd, I think. If I lived down there, I would take frequent walks along the trails. I think the tigers are so cool, too.

Just wanted to say hi. :)

Hey! I am enjoying your trip report. :thumbsup2
Everybody loves that purse! :)

Oh I do hope the next few weeks go by quickly...I want to be in AK! I never knew there were ostriches! I love them! I know they're birds but they are just so funny looking!

Yes, and sometimes an ostrich will walk up very close to the vehicle, so you might get some really good pictures.

**********************************

I will catch up with all of your reports. This has just been an especially busy week at school with state people in. I'm also doing after school tutoring until 5:30 to get kids ready for TCAP, and along with a faculty meeting this afternoon, a few party chores and a few house chores, I'm just not getting to hang out with my DIS friends much this week.

The fireworks video brought me back there. So amazing. We tried to go to DHS but the bus never came from the Poly. I think we waited a good while,
saw some drunks or near drunks ( pictures will probably end up on Jordan's TR) finally walked to the TTC and took the monorail but I think we went to MK to get back to CSR.

Next morning was wet but we braved EPCOT. WE saw this walking in
EPCOTladyinbackpack210110.jpg

:rotfl::rotfl: i think it a face in the top of his backpack!!!!
Sorry it is blurry but I running to keep up with him.

Other people were bundled up in the rain
EPCOTInnvcoldgirl10110.jpg

We wandered around Innoventions and Mousegears used our 20 % off coupon.

After I looked at the sky and determined that a ride on ellen's Energy adventure would cure the rain. When we came out it had stopped raining.

Look Blue sky!

EPCOTChinaentrance123009.jpg

We encountered more drunks that afternoon. ( yes, they are on Jordan's report)

We are having a few rough weeks here at work. Budget cuts and reductions have everyone on pins and needles. I am trying to keep up with some reports and some will have to wait a bit.
Have a great week. Find those Disney moments wherever you can.

I had a moment getting lunch at the local supermarket yesterday. I walked up to the Deli counter and the store music was from the French movie in EPCOT!!!
I went to my happy place! :goodvibes
I felt my blood pressure go down and my whole body just relax. I ordered my sandwich and actually wandered around until the song was over!
That moment and my 4 parks CD are keeping me sane right now.

No better way to start 2010 than in WDW!! I love your morning Pop pictures especially the Ping Pong table--so artistic! All those breakfast photos are making me very very hungry though!!
