Rider Switch Help

I'm currently in an argument over how rider switch works with my DVP and I want to make sure I am correct. I'm sorry if this has been asked before.

We are going to WDW March 4th. Our FPs were all booked until half our party had to drop out of the trip yesterday. So now it is just my husband, our 2.5 y/o daughter, and myself. My husband has never been to Disney and I haven't been in 10 years so we really don't want to skip all the big rides that our daughter can't ride.

So to get to the point here, regarding fast passes and rider switch.. if I get a FP for a ride, then we request a rider switch, can my husband use the rider switch pass without needing a FP? Or does he also need a FP to go through the FP line?

I understood the policy as only the first group riding needs the FP. My DVP is saying we both do. But if we both get a FP then we wouldn't even need the rider switch pass, right?

Thank you for your input, I'm so frustrated because she is refusing to make the FP requests I have given her because she doesn't agree with me.

You will only need 1 FP. Which frees up other FP for other things! FP Splash and Big Thunder at the same time for 1 person each and then rider swap them! :-D

Adding: at one short period of time, 7DMT was requiring the whole group to prove they have FP's in order to hand out a rider switch pass - but they stopped doing that.

If you both have FP for the same ride, you could grab two rider swaps. FYI they are good through the end of the month, so hang on to them for later visits to the same park, if you don't use them on day1!

Thank you! This is what I have said and she won't believe me. I guess I'm going to have to just tell her it is my vacation and whether she believes me or not she needs to give me the fast passes I want.

I can't imagine working with someone who is behaving like this.

Isn't your window long-open (or are you staying offsite). Can't you just book the FP yourself? LOL

It is open, but she won't give me the log in so that I can do it myself. Trust me, I'm so fed up with her!

How are you planning to change/add FP while on vacation without access to your MDE account? Or change dining plans if necessary?

You really need to have access to your account.

She says she will give me the info later, before we go, but not until she has everything finalized. But at this point, I want to handle the rest of the planning. She is obviously confused and won't listen no matter how many sources I quote with the correct information.

Is there any way for me to get this info without her giving it to me?

Wow, I would NOT be working with a TA on that kind of power-trip! You may feel it's too late for you to change now, depending on the deal you got and whether same/similar is still available for your dates. I read occasionally about TAs who won't release confirmation info; technically the TA "owns" the reservation. But she's certainly not earning any repeat business by refusing to provide you with info you've requested.

For the FP+, just tell her that you want to do A, B and C, and your husband wants to ride X, Y, and Z. I don't ride everything DH does so we always have a couple of individual choices in our plans.

Enjoy your vacation!

So now she says she made me the individual FP reservations I asked for, although I have yet to see them, and she said "making those reservations knowing that we plan to use them to cheat the system puts her job at risk". Am I missing something here? Lol. Aren't we using the system for the exact purpose I think was intended to serve? Ugh!

And she still hasn't given me the information to log into my experience account. Is there any way I can make her give me this information?
