DD11 just started the drum this year....and well, let's say it is an ongoing battle..

My DD had such a Passion for it, we couldn't keep her off them! She was only interested in jazz from the start, and by 6th grade, she had to have a complete trap set. Now I am so glad we let her pursue this, because it has been a great joy for her.

Hope you all laugh at this ... I'm having car problems...
seems one of you technically superior riddlers has put a "ghost" in my car's electrical system ... and it does "strange things" ... like blinking the dash lights off/on when I'm driving, or blinking the emergency lights when I stop and turn the car off... LOL

So ... I'm reduced to disconnecting the battery every time I stop ...REALLY !
It must look so funny to see someone stop, open up the hood, and take a wrench to disconnect the battery cable ...

Anyway, hope you find this more amusing than I do ... LOL

BTW, have an appt. to take the car in tomorrow...

Stephanie - I got a big-time haircut on Monday. My summer cut. The girl asked if I wanted one of thse cards that they use to give you a free haircut every eighth one. I must have a dozen of those things tucked away around the house!!!

Bernie, glad to have helped yesterday. It gave me full appreciation for what you do on a daily basis. Congrats on the win last night too!

Vanessa, I am having the same trouble with the sleeping thing too. This is the first year though that I've seemed to have problems Sounds like a nice band concert last night too

L4, tell your DS to keep at the French Horn. It is (from what I have been told and experienced myself) the hardest brass to learn to play, but oh so rewarding once that "right" sound comes through.

Gina, I'd tell your DS to go for a bari sax! I just think they are cool and they weren't near as hard to play (for me) as the alto sax. I love the soprano sax, but that's not one they usually let us start out on. Oh and the bassoon was fun too!!! (okay I played a lot of different instruments in school )
