The 7-10 is just a ‘mix and mingle’ it appears. Not sure if they’re providing any drinks/snacks

Seems like it is for all DVC members!

Full-time, yes. Free, no. . .at least not all the time. The word is they'll charge for certain events/classes, not to mention it will be a quasi-CL with a continental breakfast in the morning and some snacks and drinks at a designated time in the afternoon. All of that could change, of course, given how unsuccessful Reunion Station is. ;)

Thanks, that's quite a bummer. The idea of having somewhere to pop in if we're stuck in the resort during a storm or other downtime was part of the quintessential DVC experience for us. Not having that option at CCV/BRV has getting on the waitlist for another resort looking more and more likely for us.

On a related note, does the Poly have a dedicated community hall? If not, wondering is that is what is slated for Lilo's Playhouse when it closes - or more like the Disney of late, if something like Reunion Station may be going there.

We wont' be using this. We stay in 2BR units so that when we want to hang out, eat snacks and have a drink or two we can do it in our own room for much less $.

I've been disappointed in much of the whole new build at the Lodge. RF went from a solid QS to sub-par. Geyser Point is gorgeous, but they've reduced the menu, cut out breakfast altogether, and it's now some sort TS/QS/bar hybrid. For me, the new pool is sterile and misses the mark of being either a cool pool with a feature or a quiet pool that's tucked away (as Hidden Springs was). And plans for Reunion Station seem to be flailing about, looking for easy money. To be fair, not having a community hall isn't a huge player for me, personally, since our kids are long grown and we've no need for one ourselves. I do understand how it could be a deal breaker for others, though. I'm unsure about Poly and a community hall but I don't think so.

Poly is sold out and it would be very unlikely for them to add a community hall there now. Like odds of 99.9% against it.

Participation will determine if Reunion Station is successful. If people don't pay for it and use it, then it will change to be more affordable or go away.

OK - just us.... TEAR THIS DOWN, and start over.

This is in NO WAY a DVC property. It's "for profit". Just us - if we get hit for 10 Cents of dues? Making a stink. Dragging out BRV contract, examining Property description as offered in 2012, and making TROUBLE if we have to deal with the roof, walls, etc of this place that SHOULD have been stunning, and became a joke.

So much promise - so little delivery. Just DEMO the thing.

All personal opinion - I'm not necessarily right, no one else is necessarily wrong.

Apparently, reservations for activities at Reunion Station started today. I called MS for another reason but asked about RS and the CM said that members are booking up the activities very quickly. We are going from 4/30 - 5/3 and every single activity was booked for those days

Special activities, like wine tastings?
Is there a list of offerings? Prices?
Thanks.

Under Membership news:

"Reservations will begin on April 4 for workshops and private-lounge access at Reunion Station, a new gathering space for Members opening April 30 at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge as part of Membership Magic.

Presented as a “Membership Extra” for eligible Members and located in what appears to be a repurposed railroad station at the edge of Bay Lake, Reunion Station is flexibly designed to serve as a private lounge with foods and beverages by morning and evening, a center for paid workshops by midday, and a relaxing (complimentary!) retreat for Members by night.

Reunion Station’s evolving roster of workshops at the time of this post include the “Disney Vacation Club Beverage Tasting Series,” “Phone Photography” and “Animation 101.”

The “Disney Vacation Club Beverage Tasting Series,” taking place on Mondays from 1:30-3 p.m. beginning May 7, is an interactive series of beverage-tasting seminars focusing on a different beverage type each week, from “Speak Easy Craft Cocktails” to “New World Wines.” Each session includes small-plate food pairings to complement the beverages served. (Other arrangements should be made for those under 21.)

During “Phone Photography,” presented on Tuesdays from 1:30-3 p.m. beginning May 8, participants learn to expertly capture vacation photos on their phones, including the best approaches to photographing fireworks, characters, family poses and more.

“Animation 101,” presented on Thursdays from 1:30-3 p.m. beginning May 10, is led by noted Disney animator Todd Bright, whose credits include work on The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mulan, Tarzan, Lilo & Stitch and Brother Bear. Each week’s class explores Disney-animation history and focuses on a different animation topic, with participants learning how to apply basic animation principles to creating their own flip book, learning to draw action poses through a study of basic gesture drawing or learning the art of character design.

Each workshop is priced at $40 a person (inclusive of tax and gratuity) and limits party sizes to a maximum of four people, including the Member. Participants younger than 18 must be accompanied by a paying, participating parent or guardian."

That's why I couldn't book, they don't start until after our mini vaca. Maybe next time.

Thanks Kathy.

I can see signing up for something in the future if I plan a resort day with a friend.

Not interested. We LOVE and own at BRV and love all of the new enhancements. BUT I don’t like the CCV/BRV mingle idea. I’d rather plan/attend Disboards meet and greets. I mean I can see real uncomfortable conversation....” So, what made you buy Copper Creek at $180/pt?”.......” Oh, we bought BRV at $70/pt. Can’t wait to stay in your CC rooms”.....lol.....

So that made me burst out laughing. Wouldn't that just be an awful conversation? Funny, too, is the fact that be purchased all of our 203 points at $70. I would get a good return on my dollar if I was so inclined. I just need to wait and see how upset my husband is with the changes at VWL (will always be VWL for us).

I can see how it would be an awkward conversation considering I don’t know anyone who'd go up to complete strangers and immediately start comparing money spent on a vacation they clearly wanted to be on. But, if it were me you were talking to, I'd tell you I bought CCV at that price because I love WL. I love staying in the main building and feeling like I'm part of it. Love the new rooms and decor. Love the fact that that I get to book it at 11 months out and won't get stuck staying at DVC resorts I have absolutely no desire to stay in. And lastly, because I can.

And I would smile and agree with you that you did just fine!:)

You are the sort of person I would be glad to sit next to!

With Reunion Station paid food services starting today, is anyone there? Would love to read a review if someone is paying the $50 pp a day.

TIA!

I can see where the workshops and classes would book up. The offerings are in line with other paid offerings elsewhere (Painting at the Top, some of the AKL tours, etc.).

I just don't see a lot of people paying for the "not quite a club lounge" club access, especially if they aren't at CCV or VWL.
