Reunion Station News

You'd have to factor in a cost for the points used or use the market value of the points, not just the dues on those points, to get a true cost.
I'm confused. I took the difference in points, for the nights we stayed, and accounted for the dues we paid for each point (above the standard points). It came out to $44 and change per night. What else do I need to figure in to get the true cost?

To get a true sense of the cost you have to look at the cost for the points used which is dues plus some fraction of the purchase amount. It's no different than only counting the cost of gas in deterring the vehicle cost on a long trip. The simplest way to do it, which should over estimate some, is to take the rental value. For AKV that's likely about 50% more than the dues alone at this point.

Ugh, I hear what your saying, I was just looking at my use of points not what they are potentially worth. I guess for my purpose I would have to ask myself what I would really do with the extra 14 points for 2 nights. We never stay in a studio more then 2 nights so for us it's worth it once in a while to have the snacks, drinks and some room to roam.

we are going to be there in April, 2 adults one teen. No thanks on that cost. Although we are DVC, we dont own at BRV or CCV. This is for sure a money grab, gross. I was hoping it would be a community hall, but guess those dont make money.

I was also hoping for a community hall!! It looked like that's what it was going to be when we were there in November.

As I posted elsewhere, I can tell you right now that $50 pp/pn is too extravagant for my tastes, and I'm someone who doesn't mind dining at a Signature 2-3 times each visit. It's just me and my wife, but that would still work out to an extra $600-$700 for a typical trip. I can bring my own wine, my own cheese, and my own munchies and sit out on my balcony where I likely will have a much better view. Perhaps I will be able to wave at folks inside Reunion Station! pirate:

Hey, Disney is all about the money, and they haven't made a secret of that for many years. If they can make a buck, they'll do it, especially under the guise of "service our guests wanted" according to some unknown, faceless survey.

Regardless those points with planning have a defined value, namely the value of a rental minus taxes owed.

Curious about something.... As Reunion Station is "for pay", are either BRV,CCV or both DVC members being charged for this via dues? "Shared Resource" might work .... but with an up-charge in place, are all WL DVC Members getting hit at Dues time?

Unknown but I would think that DVD/DVCMC would be very careful about double dipping. If it is deeded to the association(s) my guess is that Disney will do a lease back like they did with TOTWL. Based on other Potrock ideas, my guess is that marketing pays some and pay to play covers the rest.

I would presume it needs to pay for itself. Given the setup it really has to and if it doesn't, they will raise the prices or shut it down. In effect the club lounge at AKV does as well but because of the extra points and extra dues associated.

Not worth it for me.
I thought it was going to be nice spot for DVC members to stop in.
But for 50 bucks a day .limited hours
And the need to pay for every day of stay seems excessive.

Not interested. We LOVE and own at BRV and love all of the new enhancements. BUT I don’t like the CCV/BRV mingle idea. I’d rather plan/attend Disboards meet and greets. I mean I can see real uncomfortable conversation....” So, what made you buy Copper Creek at $180/pt?”.......” Oh, we bought BRV at $70/pt. Can’t wait to stay in your CC rooms”.....lol.....

Just us - DVC, BRV. Reunion Station is dead to us. Worse, GP with limited Menu, high overhead costs for members?
Just demolish it. What a stunning building - wasted.

All personal opinion - I'm not necessarily right, no one else is necessarily wrong.

Is this mix/mingle at 7 PM just for CCV/BR DVC members?

I was told by a CM the building and activities are only for CCV/BRV guests. Not sure how true that is, but I guess we’ll get more information in the next week or two.

So does this mean that CCV/BRV does not and will not have a dedicated full-time (free) community hall, and that Reunion Station is a "part-time" community hall substitute?

We've been contemplating adding a small contract there (currently own at SSR) and the community hall is an attractive feature for us that we use on just about every trip. Not having a true community hall pushes us to consider other resorts, especially given the already high dues at CCV.

Full-time, yes. Free, no. . .at least not all the time. The word is they'll charge for certain events/classes, not to mention it will be a quasi-CL with a continental breakfast in the morning and some snacks and drinks at a designated time in the afternoon. All of that could change, of course, given how unsuccessful Reunion Station is. ;)
