There was a similar lens to this that died but I wanted to hear more...

What are your favorite resources for learning about digital photography - books, magazines, websites, etc? There's so many out there. If you're new to photography it's hard to know where to start. Personal recommendations are really helpful.

Here's what was listed on the other thread:
Blogs:

Books:
The Digital Rebel Digital Field Guide by Charlotte K. Lowrie
Understanding Exposure: How to Shoot Great Photographs with a Film or Digital Camera by Bryan Peterson
Nikon D50 Digital Field Guide by David D. Busch

Websites:

For Nikon users nikonians.org is a very good place to get info on Nikon lenses, bodies, flashes and also 3rd party lenses.

this had some information i hadn't seen other places although i think it's mainly about canon
and i liked steve's digicams for camera reviews.. it's pretty understandable for a non digital like me

Photography for Idiots is an aptly named film 101 book ( but in my case the shoe fits so why fight it) I got a number of yrs ago but has more than 1/2 the book about exposure , composition etc that don't really change and they may have one now for digital

Ansel Adams - "The Camera", "The Negative", "The Print"

of these, "The Negative" is maybe the most important, most of us have already chosen a camera and lens, and most images never get printed. This book will lead you to the proper (or best) exposure, and why it is important.

Don't be misled by the title, "The Negative" is at least as important in our digital world as it was in the film days.

If you plan to print at home (and that is the only way you will ever get exactly what you want) "The Print" has very valuable information.

After these three, I recommend:
Mastering Digital Printing by Harald Johnson

I have many books on photography but the Ansel Adams series are the ones I still read the most.
